The Serum Institute of India in Pune is participating in the test, which is being conducted at Oxford University. Serum started making the components of the vaccine after the first test results.
Currently, the second phase of human testing of the vaccine is underway worldwide, including in India. The third phase will begin shortly.
Once the conclusion is reached, the vaccine will be released with the final permission or the government will start giving it to the general public. It is expected to take at least until December. But given the current emergency, it is not possible to stop production until this last permit. Therefore, despite the risk of resulting vaccine failure, some doses should be prepared ahead of time.
