Slow service and wasn't sold on the food. It was busy but on the one experience, I wouldn't go back

Went there a week ago with 8 clients and had the best experience ever. The waitress we had was french and she was amazing and couldn t fault her. Tonight I went back with other clients as i thought I impress them so much with this place but the service was totally hopeless as the guy serving us has no idea. Such a contrast from two different nights. I won t be taking clients back there ever again. Not sure how this place is ranked so high with such different staff on each night.

Sirloin steak with truffle in mushroom sauce excellent

Steaks were amazing, coupled by great wines and topped off with fantastic desserts. The orange and almond cake was divine!

The food, service & atmosphere was fantastic. Thanks team for an amazing dinner.

Not sure why the rating is so high. The burgers/sliders were ok. The Waldorf salad tasted nothing like Waldorf and the added roasted chicken lacked taste and flavour. The bread and butter was totally tasteless. The music was noisy too. Do not recommend this place.

I dined here with my colleagues earlier this week. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes and the great table service. I had a steak, and it was perfectly cooked to medium. We also had chips, and they were relatively thick cut, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Washed that down with a gin & tonic. They had a whole menu dedicated to gin & tonics! Great! Prices were above average, but not over the top.

Been here quit a few times. Nice atmosphere, can be a bit noisy if you're after a quiet dinner but I don't mind the chatter. The food has always been good and the pricing fair. Service is a bit hit and miss, good consistent service would make a difference.

You got to love it when people are good at their job

Great atmosphere, food and service here that made for a great night. Very attentive staff, can't wait to go back and try some other dishes, money well spent.

What a surprise package this place is. I have lived in the CBD for the last 5 years and never felt the urge to go into the Sentinel, that was until Tuesday night when we thought we'd sample the Paris date night package. Wow!! What a fantastic night. The staff were fantastic from the moment we entered until the time we left. The food was cooked to perfection, the chateaubriand was to die for, OMG!
I'm hoping the paris date night gets extended into September but regardless, well be back to try the rest of the menu.

Enjoyed the meal. The course we chose was sold out but the head of house sorted the situation really well. Service impeccable and nice food.

Great food. Well thought out menu! Service was a little understaffed though.
Wine list more than decent! Some good beers on tap. Generally a place that wouldn't disappoint alot of people if the food came out in a timely manner! I'd go back! :)

Delicious steak; cooked skillfully. Friendly staff. Wine and beer were equally good. Only thing missing was sauce for the fries e.g. chili sauce. Please also don't push still or sparking water; tap water is good enough.

The overall experience was outstanding - in particular Kelseys service. She was very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this establishment - great good, drinks, service and overall enjoyment while in the venue.

Great place for business lunches. Streaks are cooked to perfection and the wine list is expansive. Finish up with a glass of the Portuguese port.

Experienced arrogant service from the bar tender who poured wrong wine, no big deal, but then very haphazardly poured the subsequent reds, couldn't be bothered wiping the glass stems/base. Everyone has their bad days I guess. Otherwise cosy space so book ahead if doing more than drinks

Great quality food, steak tartare was great. They have chateaubriand and it was lovely. Dessert was great too! We went on a busy night and staff was stretch but our wait staff did his best! Place a little small thus noisy, if you after a more relax place, this would not be it. Food is good though.

Great evening, very friendly welcome and service. The succulent beef fillet and excellent homemade fries, delicious chocolate dessert! Very good address for the French ... And all those who love good food!

Lovely service, great food. We went here as a group and really enjoyed it. I loved the atmosphere, it was formal / neat, yet relaxed enough that we could talk casually and enjoy our time.
I cannot fault the food, it was great. If you're in the area and looking for somewhere to sit and eat with a bunch of friends, certainly give this a go.

Had a lunchtime, office team lunch. Service was good and timely. Food was excellent.
Appeared to be an executive crowd moving in for a mid-Friday lunch and wine session. Popular and easy , but quality.

Terrible service! Turned up for coffee while it was raining. Staff refused to seat us under cover/out of the rain after two requests. Clearly not interested in business unless ordering meals. Would not recommend.

Great group experience though was left slightly disappointed overall. Food was nice - though nothing really stood out.

The food was great and definitely the highlight of the night, but the service wasn t the best. Every course was jeopardised by this. The entree got muddled up and my vegetarian mum was served a beef tartar instead of the beetroot entree she d ordered. She started eating it before a server realised the mix up. We didn t receive our side of broccolini during our main course and our dessert was given to a different table. We were there during peak hour on a Saturday night, so that may account for some of the flaws throughout the night.

Overall, the food was delicious, and every element of the dishes was impeccable. The only downfall was the service, but ultimately, it was a great experience and an even better night.

Great place for a romantic dinner ! Had the angel hair pasta with blue crab was brilliant downed pint of tiger beer would go here again to try the chicken burger at lunch .

Modern, upmarket restaurant in the centre of the city, seems to be used mostly by business people operating in the CBD. Also a good option for tourists, especially in the evening when there are fewer options available. Pricey, but comfortable, good service and excellent food.

It's a great place for after work drinks with colleagues/clients with an ample undercover outdoor seating area. Nice and friendly staff behind the bar who are also efficient with their service. The chips that come with mayo was addictively delicious and served within minutes upon request.

Fantastic service and amazing food. Perfect place to go to celebrate covid restrictions easing, but is great on any occasion. Can definitely recommend.

Good food and service and a nice atmosphere make for a good all round experience. Not cheap but in this case you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately my meal has been all but disappointment. I was here last night looking forward to try their steak. I had the rib eye steak (medium rare), the quality of the meat was below average (very chewy and lots of muscle tissue) which made 30% of it inedible. The sauce (cafe de Paris) is good. I give an overall 2 stars because the starters were good.

We had drinks and dinner here with a group of 25 people Saturday the 1st of February.
I would thoroughly recommend Sentinel Bar and Grill .
The food was very prompt and excellent, the wait staff were engaging and helpful without being intrusive.
The drinks came quickly and separate billing was not and issue.

Had a good pasta and a couple of drinks for my now brother in-laws bucks night. Staff were wonderful and supportive, food came out pretty quick and we had a few good laughs. Dinners were priced perfectly for their quality. Drinks were priced well too.

My partner and I went for the Valentines night and was very pleased with the food and service. The staff were attentive at all times and the manager was very professional and polite when we asked to change my partners main dish as it was not to her taste. Would definitely go back!

It was very busy and cramped, the food selection wasn't that great either. On a positive note the steak was excellent!!

Didn t have a booking rocked up at peak dinner time flustered and hangry, Sara(?) welcomed us with open arms and went above and beyond to accomodate our needs. Food was on par probably the best I ve ever had. Picture below is entree we only had a drink and a nibble so imagine what dinner is like. Can t wait to return!

Good coffee and muffins. I had my morning coffee here for more than a year and it's been always good and consistent quality.
Food is pretty average.

Have enjoyed lunch here a couple of times in the last couple of months. After having the eye fillet and caesar salad the first visit, I couldn't go past it on the second visit either. Just delicious. Great service. Tables a little too close together, but that's the only complaint.

Amazing service , great carpaccio, best steak in the city. Highly recommended!

Located in Perth CBD and not too far away from Elizabeth Quay. The restaurant had a bar area with the dining area seperated by a wall. We ordered the Angel Hair Pasta with Blue Swimmer Crabs and the Rib Eye cooked medium rare with truffle sauce. Both dishes were fantastic. The service was outstanding with pricing on par with other restaurants in the area.

Well located in CBD. Good service. Food is good but also good for just coffee.

Went to the Sentinel for Dinner on Saturday night. Service was great. Food was tasty and generous. Wine a little over priced but overall not bad at all. Great setting with friendly service staff.

We were served by Andrew who was extremely polite, friendly and provided the best table service I have personally experienced. Overall decent food but the service made the visit for us.

Food: It's okay. Not fantastic but good enough.

Price: Expensive. About AUD 40 per person (as of Nov 2018)

Service: The staff are very very friendly, definitely giving them the credit. But I think it's abit understaffed so it does take some time to call for the waiters or waitresses.

Chilling challenge cold winter night ferry to city walk to diner, revelled the event excellent menu choices, ripper banter, photo bombed by staff and an epic walk home. Bloody beauty bottler

The salmon dish was one of the most delicious dishes in my life, the paste like sauce on the noodles was to die for. Service was wonderful will definitely be back
