As a babysitter for Sensible Sitters, I have always been impressed with the clientele for whom I have worked. Sensible Sitters not only did its due diligence in hiring me, but I can tell that it goes through a similar effort in finding good families, too. The families have been kind and respectable. Sensible Sitters responsibly gives my information to the families who are then familiar with my experience before I arrive.
I've been a sitter for Sensible Sitters for almost a year now. I've enjoyed every minute of it! So far, I've sat for 23 different families in the Atlanta area and I have never had a bad experience. The families are always very welcoming and appreciative. Although I'm not a parent myself, I understand how stressful it can be to balance children, careers, school functions, etc. It makes me happy that I can help out parents whether it's planned a month in advance or a few hours in advance. The people in the Sensible Sitters offices should also be mentioned! They're extremely helpful with any questions that I have. I've always been paid on time and they're great at setting me up with families. I love the flexibility of the job, it's a unique one in that I get to make my own schedule! PLUS, I get to play with play-doh, run around, and read books to children all day, what more could I ask for?! I'd recommend SS to parents and sitters alike.
I have been working for Sensible Sitters for almost 2 years now, and they have been an invaluable resource to me from day 1! From the first babysitting job I had, Vanessa and the other members of the team made me feel super comfortable by providing accurate information about families, and were extremely conscious of my busy and sometimes hectic schedule as it changed from semester to semester. They always go out of their way to assign jobs which work best with our location, and our comfort level with certain age groups or needs of the children and families. I have worked with about 50 families so far, and it is always so much fun to meet new kids, to gain experience with different age groups, and see how each family is unique in the way certain things are done, but are also very similar, and this allows me to stay familiar with the routines and other aspects of caring for children of all ages. Anytime people ask me about the job I have as a babysitter/nanny, I always say how lucky I am to work for them, and that it is the ideal job for a person who loves working with kids in the city because of the flexibility, simple online billing system (I have ALWAYS received correct and timely payment), and the fact that the business aspect is taken care of, and we just get to work with clients who also know that they are getting quality childcare!
I've just started working with Sensible Sitters and so far I'm really impressed with their jobs and service! They are doing really great job, providing coverage for both families and sitters 24/7! It seems like they never sleep, and families can always absolutely rely on them if they need last minute sitter or if in case of emergency they have nobody to leave their precious kids with. Besides there is a range of training courses for the sitters provided by the agency, so families can be assured they are not taking some random persons from the street to watch their kids. And the girls in the agency are really helpfull both for their clients and employees, and are happy to explain everything that might be unclear as many times as it's needed. Definitely recommend this agency for the families, it would become your lifesaver and necessary thing in your daily life!
I was traveling for business to New York City and wanted to take my four year old son. Sensible Sitters found someone with only a week's notice, sending me basic information, arranging an introductory meeting, and following up. The sitter they sent (Scott - GREAT sitter if you have a boy!) was fantastic, keeping me informed during the day so I knew if I needed to take a break from my meetings to see him briefly. They played at the playground in Central Park and went to the Met museum. My son had a fantastic time and is still talking about Scott one week later. I highly recommend Sensible Sitters. They are great.
If I could rate them zero stars I would. I worked for them for a while and they pay their sitters minimum wage. Families pay twice as much as babysitters make. It s a huge rip off for both parties involved! In addition I was never paid for a long babysitting and after 8 emails and several phone calls, no one ever cared to help me. Please do not support this company because on the surface they seem fine but they abuse their babysitters totally. I met several lovely families through them which I do not regret, it s just such a shame how poorly I was treated.
Their billing department continued to charge us the annual fee year after year despite having cancelled our service with them. We tried to repeatedly contact them through voicemail and email but no one has ever responded.
