It's a stunning Academy, which gave me great moments learning English. It is located near the city centre, so it an excellent spot. Very well communicated!!! The people working there are amazing and keen to help you in every moment. I'd recommend it for learning english or any other language, you won't regret!!
As an ex-trainee of this school s teaching course I would recommend not only training as a TEFL teacher here but becoming a student as well. Zita is a brilliant teacher who is always willing to go the extra mile to help anyone (even after leaving and asking for some help with something years later she still managed to find the time to lend me a hand). I remember fondly the other teachers as well such as Paula and Muhammed. They have lots of resources available for the students and the lessons are well priced in comparison to other schools. Overall it s a brilliantly situated school with a very multicultural and educational atmosphere.

I have been a student at The Language Academy since November 2017.I have not heard about it before but it came up when I put CAE in Google search which I was aiming for. I found all details about my course online and it was easy to follow instructions to enrol to do so.
Firstly, I would recommend attending The Language Academy to everyone who would like to improve their English since the teachers are really professionals and not only just teach you the right stuff but they also are very friendly. In fact, they would help you more if you are struggling with some aspect of your preparation for taking an exam or give you any useful advice. I would like to pinpoint, that you can choose from one to one session or you can attend a normal class which is usually contains about 10 students.
Secondly, there is an opportunity for students who would like to practise their English with other students out of teaching hours, so either in the morning or in the afternoon. I am one of these students and I have found it very helpful mostly before taking an exam soon. This option does not require any further expenditure and you can practise different part of exams, e.g. Listening, Speaking or if you wish you can master a whole test.
Furthermore, if you are coming to academy after a long day at work or college (university), you are very welcomed to help yourself a hot or a cold drink and some biscuits in the area provided or should you take your drink with you to a classroom. Another advantage of this institution is that you can use free Wifi. It is very easy to access on your mobile or laptop and you can use it either way, studying or just browsing the Internet. The former I prefer more, though.
In conclusion, I would recommend joining the Language Academy to everyone who would like to not just pass the exam but also socialise with other students and have fun while studying a foreign language.

The time I have spent in Nottingham Language Academy has been excellent. The top calibre teachers namely Zita and Paula made my IELTS learning really enjoyable. I first started to attend the Nottingham Language Academy in January, when I was looking for a school which provided high level courses that could actually help me to improve my English. Because of the suggestion of an acquaintance, I went to the Academy to gather some information about the lessons. I was immediately pleased by the welcoming atmosphere of the school. In addition to that, the service provided by the school s staff was also excellent as two teachers met me and had a chat with me in which they asked me my goals regarding my English learning and were afterwards able to suggest me the most fitted course available.
I m currently attending a CAE exam preparation course and I could definitely say that I m satisfied with the choice that I made. First of all, the lessons are very helpful, structured in a way in which they can both be enjoyable and useful for the students. The main reason because these lessons work so well are of course the teachers. I found all the staff extremely competent and helpful. I have only had a chance to attend lessons led by two of them, Zita and Anthony, but I talked with many others and I think they are all equally good.
Another extremely important service provided by the Academy is the possibility for the students to meet at the school to practise various parts of the exams even out of the lesson time and without having to pay an extra fee.
Talking about the structure itself, the school building is located at a ten-minute walking distance from the city centre, not far from the bus stops for most of the city lines. Of course the Academy is provided with facilities such as restrooms and common rooms.
In conclusion, I think that the Academy is a good choice regardless of what your level is a really basic level or a quite advanced one. The cost of the courses is fair and I think that it is a good investment of both time and money for all those who choose Nottingham Language Academy over all the other language schools or courses in the city.

I really recommend you to join the classes! Everyone there is really kind and the environment is great! I really miss the classes, my teachers and my classmates! The teachers are very experienced and they helped me to improve my English language skills and, of course, to get the best results on the exams...and now I am a student at the University of Nottingham because of them! I'm certainly going to attend more classes to learn more languages!
There is a warm common room where you can enjoy a coffee, an English tea or a juice with some biscuits before the class, and all these are provided for free for everyone. In addition, there is a great balcony for the days with good weather and also many books which you can borrow for free.
The most important is the way that the teachers teach. The classes are not going to put pressure on you, and you will feel free to ask anything at all times.
Also, you will enjoy many events and trips around England that are organised by the team of the Academy.
The academy is located in a really nice building with a great view, near the city centre.
For me it was the best choice I could make! The prices are much lower by comparison to other schools and there are many offers as well!
I warn you from this school, it is very bad. The school (the institute) is commercial, purely concerned with money, most of the teachers are not specialized, and unfortunately the prices of Saudis and Gulfs are more expensive than others. Even Asians give them a price.

I recently completed my CELTA here. A very intense course but you learn so much and it really gives you the tools to help you through the course and even further set you up for life. Last summer I had the pleasure of studying at Nottingham Language Academy for approximately three months. Said experience was so valuable that I returned in February and I m now planning to join its courses again!
For those wondering, the Academy is conveniently located in the heart of Nottingham, a vibrant city that can offer you history, culture, the arts and restful green areas.
The school offers a wide range of courses, from the General English one, that I attended at the very beginning of my experience, to the Exam Preparation Classes, catering for all language levels. An online placement test is given to all students in order to ensure they join the most appropriate group, and students who want to attend an Exam Preparation Class are also required to do an entry test.
One of the most impressive aspects of the Exam Preparation Courses is that they not only make you improve your grammar and vocabulary skills, but also focus on exam strategies and techniques that are vital to succeed in your Cambridge exams.
Another plus point is the opportunity to have One-to-One classes, that are extremely beneficial if you want to learn very intensively. I had the possibility to attend these sessions with other two students, sharing the tuition fees of these extra classes.

Talking about Nottingham Language Academy is a talking about an experience. A gratifying experience. I had never had studied English before. Hence, I wouldn't have known the basic grammar and vocabulary. Obviously, experiences are individual and unique but in just six weeks, I was able to advance until intermediate level. Anyway, I never thought that I could learn so much in such a short time.

I prepared for the CAE exam at the academy and my experience was great! In my case, besides having classes tuesdays and wednesdays, I used the place facilities to study whenever I wanted, is very comortable and you are offered everything you need to concentrate. Zita and Sara, the CAE teachers, have a lot of experience teaching and preparing students for Cambridge exams. The school is really nice, definitely recommended!

Nottingham Language Academy is a great place to do the CELTA course. I have recently completed the part time CELTA this year and I think because it s a smaller setting it s therefore not so overwhelming. The amount of support you get from Zita is fantastic as it is an intense course but well worth doing. It creates new opportunities for you and enables you to go anywhere in the world. The course is very practical and the students you teach are lovely.
You also meet new people and make new friends so you don t go through it on your own.

I have been in this School for three months and I have to say that during this period the two teachers i have had and Zita were always available to listen to my doubts and concerns.
The building is very pretty with lots of rooms, a nice and relaxing view and a lovely backyard with benches and tables to enjoy the sunset having a cup of tea ( always available in the ground floor).
Teachers are friendly, well prepared and always available for New explanation.

I attended the lessons two days per week in the morning but they have also made lessons available in the afternoon which is extremely useful depending on your availability. There is a high attendance rate at the academy because of the excellent tutoring and friendly members.

NLA is an English school, located in Nottingham near the centre of the city, perfect for learning English for work or university. I've been attending their General English, Summer School as well as FCE and CAE preparation courses. Classes are not so crowded with from five to eight student in each one, so you can talk a lot and get also individual attension. The classes have students from different nationality, so you are not only forced to speak english to be understood, but also able to learn about different cultures. There are different level classes, so you can learn with people at your own level and with teachers that prepare lessons focused on your skills and needs.
I recommend the school to every age group of people.

I feel so lucky that I have discovered this Academy because I met teachers who really helped me and my colleagues to improve the score in OET. They taught us really good strategies which were a real help in Reading and Listening and also they found the easiest ways to make us understand better what is required in Speaking and Writing. On the exam day I did not have any emotions because all the staff was kind and made me feel that they are for helping the candidates not for getting them into trouble. Hello my name is Nurbek Jabashev. I study in Nottingham Language Academy. I am already gone through all classes such as Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate and Upper Intermediate. First of all, when I came to the school on my first day, I could not tie two words together. On my first day this school met me very warmly, especially director of our school John. After warm greeting, I started to adapt faster. The atmosphere in the school is very friendly. We feel like a big international family. All our teachers are qualified and they can help you with every question which is related to study. Also I want to mention that our break times are really interesting because all students go to chill room where, we can relax talk and have fun. In fact, in the chill room you can drink: coffee, tea, juice but school has one magic the biscuits never finish. Also school celebrates all events which are celebrated in England. Basically these events can help foreign students to learn British culture. In addition school gives us books which are really helpful for us because apart from pages also all books have CD.
In conclusion, I am really glad to be a student of this school and I think my experience here it will be really helpful in my future. If you want to improve your English I strongly recommend this school to you. I hope you will like this school and you will enjoy this experience!!! :)
The place is well located just a few minutes by walk from the city center where you can find all kinds of facilities, you can find different courses depending on what your goals are and of course the teachers and the staff will help you to achieve them. As I said, all the staff are really friendly and very supportive. They, in my experience, are absolutely good in what they do, plus a huge level of patience which in my opinion is amazing.
The price of the courses is reasonable. It does not matter whether you are working or just studying, you would find something that fits you.
I have just finished CELTA course here, and I can sincerely admit that it was the best decision I had made in many years!

The best place to study English as a foreign language. I went to English Language Academy to pass IELTS exam and get band a 6.5. However, I managed to get a band 7. This is because of all the efforts of the teachers who helped us to get what we want, especially Zita and Paula. I don't know how can I thank them enough. Another positive aspect is the management office in that academy who are easily approachable as well as they understand your problems and always try to help you. I d love to recommend NLA which is an excellent place to learn both of English Language and Culture. I felt very comfortable and safe just like home which allowed me to concentrate on my study. Teachers and staff were very pleasant, approachable, enthusiastic, encouraging and engaging (and always find some fun ways for us to learn!). The facilities at the school were fantastic and lots of free biscuits! The Academy also organised a lot of brilliant activities including a summer BBQ, Friday Film Club etc. Finally, it is located in a great location close to the city centre. All in all, Marvellous!!!
I attended one-to-one lessons in order to prepare the IELTS exam after two failures in my home country. I found the school a great environment which I have never experienced in the previous English schools: the secretary service was always polite and available for any query, the school offers tidy rooms where you can feel at ease. Last but not least, I have had two amazing and experienced teachers!!! I really have to thank Zita and Paula for their professionalism, availability, kindness and empathy through which they taught and guide me during the preparation of such difficult exam. A very familiar place that makes you feel like at home. Fantastic teachers with a great passion for their job. In this school I have learned all the necessary things for passing with flying colours the IELTS exam.

To start, Nottingham Language Academy is not just an Academy which provides English courses, it's also a huge community, like a family. Indeed, if you look for English lessons in order to pass a specific test in English (like IELTS or Cambridge Exams), to have a strong and efficient preparation or just to improve your level in English, don't hesitate !! Nottingham Language Academy will be the perfect place for you.
I will tell you my personal experience as an example to show you how is the functioning, the atmosphere and the life there. I am doing an Erasmus programme at Nottingham Trent University and I have joined the Academy in October 2016 because I wanted to have a preparation for the CAE (Cambridge Advanced Exam).
I am coming twice a week, on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The two teachers are very nice and happy with us. They are very competent with excellent teaching practices. All the students always get pleasure from coming, learning, doing the exercises and making this preparation. The teachers are very supportive and want us to pass the exam !! They believe in us and so, a relationship of trust as well as a good working atmosphere are always present. We can easily ask questions and even if we don't feel confident at the beginning, we get on the "team" quickly.
All is done to make you comfortable as soon as possible, and the most important is that the teacher progresses and advances at your own pace. When I talked about "a community", it is because we meet a lot of people there, from all over the world (students and also teachers) and of all ages, with whom we become friends.
Besides, this Academy makes you feel at home because there are a lot of spaces downstairs with available rooms, armchairs, chairs, sofas, tables where you can study and relax. You can also rest for a while by eating some biscuits with a tea, a coffee or an orange juice at your disposal.
The Nottingham Language Academy proposes summer schools for children in order for them to start learning English at an early age.
If you are passing by Nottingham for a short time, you have also the opportunity to benefit from lessons for the week for instance (5 mornings or 5 afternoons from Monday to Friday), which can be a very good and useful English experience.
And finally, you have the possibility to have other languages which are taught, such as Japanese or French. Thus, it highlights the international side and the openness of the Nottingham Language Academy.
And what is also enjoyable is that the Academy is very well-situated because it is in the city centre of Nottingham.
In short, everybody is smiling and nice there ; you will be well-received and supported: we will believe in you. English will become a game for you, more than something to learn.
So, what else ? What are you waiting for ? Get it yourself and you won't be disappointed at all.
I studied CELTA at Nottingham language academy. The tutors are supportive and do their best to ensure that I have achieved the aims of the lessons. The centre has all the facilities that we need as teacher trainees.
I learned how to become a better teacher than what I was when started the course.

I had one of the best time in my life studying in Nottingham Language Academy, it s a great space with great people, I learned not just English language, but also cultural diversity. I made friends from all over the world and I could learn from each one a little bit of one s culture. Nottingham language academy it s a place when you can feel home and also can learn English with competent professionals.
Ps: they have delicious biscuits.
Can't praise NLA enough. I began my CELTA just before the pandemic hit, and we went into lockdown about halfway through the course. The entire system had to change, teachers who had never used Zoom before had to not only keep on teaching us, but master all of the online aspects, work out how to grade us fairly given the change in format, and keep the criteria up to standard to that of any other CELTA. The teacher's all did wonderfully. Zita, Vasiliki, and Steve are all incredibly supportive people. You will be pushed to be your best, and the course is very demanding even when done part time, but you will come out of it with something that will increase your employability immediately. While other centres were cancelling courses due to the pandemic and leaving students in the dust, NLA did everything they could to keep things going and keep us feeling supported, while ALSO taking on abandoned students from other centres. There is a huge amount of post-course support as well, teachers have all kept in contact, offered employment advice, bombarded us with years worth of valuable resources, offered volunteering opportunities at the academy to gain experience, and even looked over CVs and cover letters if asked. They've gone above and beyond anything that should be reasonably expected, working late into the night on many occasions (I know because I've received emails from them at the early hours from time to time), and always doing everything they can to support their students. They clearly take great pride in the quality of teacher that comes out of NLA, and they will work you hard to get the best out of you, but as intimidating as that sounds they are kind and caring people who will always consider your welfare and will always listen if you need them. I can't recommend enough, and they are without a doubt the best place to go in Nottingham for a CELTA.
Nottingham Language Academy is a great place for anyone who desires to succeed in the OET examination. The environment is amazing with a team of supportive staff.
I learned under the tutelage of Sarah. She is very friendly and extremely good at what she does. An exceptional teacher, with the best approach to make you feel confident in the OET test.

It has given me great confidence to speak Spanish as well as an understanding of the grammar etc behind it. The institute is excellent, the study is enjoyable and the staff are cooperative. I received my lessons from Professor / Jeff and Professor / Julie, their efforts were wonderful.
I have been attending this academy for 4 months and there's a huge improvement in my skills. The academy has a beautiful terrace with an amazing views.The courses are interesting and fun. The lessons go by very fast even though they are 3 hours long.

I am very pleased with the professionalism of all of the teachers at the academy but what stands out for me is their personal approach and their encouragement and understanding.My personal tutor, Zita,not only prepared me very well technically for my exam but put her heart and soul into encouraging and motivating me and giving the confidence to get the 7,5 score that I needed in IELTS.I would highly recommend the Nottingham Language Academy to anyone considering taking a language course . I had an amazing experience and made lots of friends. I studied the CELTA course over 20 weeks, it was intense and fast paced. The teachers work tirelessly to support and assist you and make themselves available. I thoroughly enjoyed every session and meeting people from all walks of life. I spent over 6 months at the Academy and I am very pleased to have taken that choice because my English improved quickly at this academy as well as I met many wonderful teachers and students. The teachers are very very nice, helpful and supportive. I am sure I couldn't have improved my English so fast and have passed my English exam without their help.
The Academy offers many different kind of courses. You have a wide range of courses so that you can take the best one that fit for you. There are courses, from General English for begginers to specialised lessons for students who want to pass any kind of English exam or tutorial lessons one to one.
Besides, they are very flexible with the schedules and it is easy to make changes if your availability changes during the course. They have a great staff and if any problem comes up, they resolve it very quickly and efficiently.
It's located very close to city centre and its facilities are full of different materials for the students can use after lessons such as films, books, audios and magazines. All students are allowed to stay at the Academy for chatting or studying after lessons because they have suitable rooms for that and they have no problem lending them.
The academy always organises many extra activities for its students so it is very useful and let students practice English and learn about British culture.
Finally, if you want, the academy can provide its students with an accommodation in a British family. In my case, the Academy provided me with an excellent British family which supported me a lot and I could practise my English and learn a lot of things from them. They all are wonderful people.
In summary, it is the best place to learn a language, meet wonderful people and be involved in the British culture.
One of the best courses I have done is the CELTA, however I strongly believe the reason I feel this way about the course is because of NLA!. I will throughout my life recommend this academy to anyone that wants to do any English language course!. The tutors were amazingly helpful and understanding!. Zita is the greatest asset this academy or any educational institution can have/wish for!.

Since I started my IELTS lessons in NLA all I have seen is sheer Professionalism and Generosity from teachers and management especially Zita and John, if you are in east midlands and need English lessons I strongly recommend them.
Great teachers and atmosphere, very welcoming and friendly. I did the part time CELTA here and it was a really good experience, I would definitely recommend it

She is a fantastic teacher making the classes fun and easy to learn. She is very friendly, helpful and approachable.
I feel that I have learnt a lot and liked the way Maria always speaks and asks questions in Spanish.

I spent one year in England. I went to this school for the last two month and passed my CAE exam, thanks to them. All the lesson without exeptions are really helpful for the test and after every lesson, I felt more prepared for the exam. And all of that was in a great atmosphere, we laughed a lot, people and teachers were very friendly... Great experience..
