Many resources, hot meals! Over all good place to get assistance or referrals.
This place, They Need a New & Bigger Building, for the senior citizens of all races, then it would be Better place!!???
Great place for all walks of. But really is for 55+ age. They have the best derector and manager. They go above and beyond of what thier jobs discreption calls for. My hat off to them. Nothing but love for this place. .
Very helpful staff, but building is far too small for number of clients served. Provides much-needed services for homeless elderly.
These people bend over backwards to help, the problem is they are very short staffed as far as experienced workers.
It being addressed and I have faith in them
Nice staff. Really appear to care about the people they help
Excellent organization, a pleasure to be able to help them.
This place helps out elderly people 55 years and up I helped them get off the street .give three good meal a day . I have case workers there to help you out fill out applications for housing ,Social Security, food stamps and AND. They have a clothing bank and a food bank and they also help out the community with energy assistance and housing assistance when they have it my name is Joe Beltran
Nice and quite lots of services meals and food, bank!
They are doing so much and helping others They do everything possible.
Wonderful staff. Very helpful with your basic needs.
Helped w/a New I.D. over the phone. Faster than scheduling at D.M.V.
They are doing amazing things for the older adult homeless in Denver. Have driven by this building on my way to work for years, never paid much attention. Was walking by the other day and stopped to talk to the volunteers watering the grass outside. Marvin educated me in the downstream impacts of big industry and ballot measures on the homeless population, and gave me a tour of the facility. They provide housing, education and resources to seniors, while adhering to certain "rules of engagement" their consumers must abide by in order to receive services. Great model, and they need community support in addition to the partnerships they have formed with orgs like MHCD. Check them out or better yet, donate!
Are you needing a resource, a meal, an ear or being with some like yourself? Senior Support may not be pretty, but it is smart, helpful and caring. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner ( usually home cooked meals sent by local churches ); there are computers and help with the internet; a mail box for your mail, a clothing and food bank, and even bus token giveaways .
So don't be shy, or feel bad, these mostly guys will make sure you get off ya feet, off the street(though brief), make sure you eat, and Vets band of brothers reminessce and feed your soul. Its not perfect, but it sure helps when you need it. And ya never know, your life could change for the better.
Located at 18th & Emerson, just West of St. Joe's, Natl.Jewish hospital for respiratory issues, Kaiser and PSL. Stop in, have a cuppa Joe and get your bearings . You'll be glad you did. Be well.
I've been a member of Senior Support Services for over four years. It is a very good resource center for those who are 55 and older. Open every day except Saturdays, and serve three meals a day M-F. They helped me a lot especially when I was homeless.
Julie is awesome, best Humanatarion, on GOD'S green earth, GOD , Bestest daughter!
Covid has limited their services but they're still there to care and help us with grab and go meals and wonderful resource agents
I am no fan of the young director of case management.
The computers are in terrible shape.
I have personally seen the difference
They have made in the peoples lives
They support . I have personally been
Involved, and collecting food and clothing
Donations for over 10 years , and am
Starting a sleeping bag drive now before
Winter is here. Ted and his staff are truly
Committed to changing the lives of
The seniors and homeless in Denver!
God bless you guys
My utility bill was to high to pay at the time, I had just moved, and
I am and will always be so grateful for the help I received.
Thank you
Because it is a haven to the people who go there. It is a blessing, as well as those who serve others. God is surely with them all
Never will talk against what they do. Probably kept me out of trouble and warm and fed. Support group gave me hope and help. Bless them all. They were my anchor!
senior support center for those 60 years and over there you can get assistance and they feed you in there think they offer a variety of things bus passes. They serve food give you food to take home they help the low-income and those in need and also the homeless
Wrong people working there.Need to better understanding. To work with people.not hotheads. .
To my knowledge, this is the only day shelter for homeless seniors age 55 and over. The meals they serve are good. Staff could be friendlier.
A truly awesome place, that provides many services for the seniors that are homeless.
