Our History

Send International was founded in 1948 by Harry Bollback and Ted Wueste as an interdenominational mission agency focused on reaching Japan with the gospel. Over time, our ministry expanded beyond Japan into other parts of Asia and eventually into Europe and Eurasia.

Today, Send International has over 500 missionaries serving in more than 20 countries around the world. We work alongside local churches and ministries to establish vibrant communities of faith among unreached people groups.

Our Approach

At Send International, we believe that effective missions requires both proclamation (sharing the gospel) and demonstration (living out its implications). That's why our missionaries engage in holistic ministry that addresses both spiritual and physical needs.

We also recognize that effective cross-cultural ministry requires cultural sensitivity and humility. That's why all of our missionaries receive extensive training before they go overseas. This includes language study, cultural orientation, theological education, practical skills training (such as evangelism), and ongoing mentoring from experienced missionaries.

In addition to sending out missionaries from North America and Europe, we also partner with national believers in each country where we serve. These national partners have a deep understanding of their own culture and language which enables them to share Christ effectively within their own communities.

Our Impact
