I've been wanting to try Seeds since I first heard of it! I love the idea behind this place, as well as the atmosphere and nice people who make it work! I was greeted by two gentlemen at the door, Phil gave me the 'low down' on the menu and how it worked. I had the ABC Burger, which as delish!
I also had the kale Caesar salad which exceeded my expectations! Wow, didn't know kale could taste that good! Everyone was very friendly, the place, bathroom included were clean and tidy, I like that a lot!
I would recommend trying this place at least once, it's cool, and it helps our community :)

The food is really good, and they have many great vegan options. The menu changes regularly, but the quality and presentation of the food is extremely good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I love the pay what you can/want option because those who can pay more will, and it helps those who can't afford much. They also have an option to volunteer at the place in exchange for food. There's a cute little community bookshelf outside on the patio, and the atmosphere is wonderful.

First off, not only is the food outstanding, and organic, butt the place helps feed the local community and gives to the homeless. It's a donation basis, so if you are down on your luck, they will give you a meal for free. The second time, you work for an hour or two and they'll give you a meal. It's a small hole in the wall, but everybody that goes there loves the place and what it stands for.

I went yesterday for the first time. My daughter, who has Down Syndrome, told me that her group goes to Seeds and folds/rolls the silverware into napkins. That earns a big plus for me.
Seeds is next to Josh and Johns a little hidden as you have to go through a hallway (which is colorfully painted) to get to it. A few tables are outside, still under cover in the hallway.
They have lots of vegan and gluten free meals and when I passed my credit card it was really weird to hear "how much would you like to donate" I have no idea.... I didn't even know what food I was to expect. So be prepared for that. I paid for 2 meals with drinks so I said "20$" - maybe I overpaid by a few bucks, but hey this place is giving people great opportunities.
The ONLY thing that I really had a problem with was smell. Not sure what it was ... it smelled like old cheese inside. I had a hard time handling it hence we were sitting outside, which was better for me....

This IS the best resturant in Colorado Springs outside of The Broadmorre. You can go on your own wild goose chase to check if I'm right, but you'd just end up at the same conclusion. Seeds Community Cafe is exceptional, is unique, and is a great option for Vegans and Vegitarians as well as meat lovers :)
Open 11:00 AM--2:30 PM
Just go down the alley next to Josh and John's and you have arrived.

I love this restaurant. The people are all wonderful and the food is some of the best I've had in the entire city. No joke! The chef is vegan and is doing a lot more great vegan dishes. One of my favorites in town for sure!

This community cafe is a pay as you can cornucopia of local and organic foods. Friendly and with a nice selection for vegans vegetarians and gluten free eaters. I was amazed at the quality of the food. This is a pay it forward cafe.

This is a wonderful idea in action! Pay for your food if you can, pay what you can, pay for someone else's food, work off the cost of your food. And the food is delicious, prepared by chefs! The decor and tables are comfortable and artsy. This is a great place to hang out and meet people, too.

As we entered the restaurant we really liked the energy of the atmosphere. We were made to feel as if our donation was not enough and ended up paying 20 dollars for a small piece of bread with cheese on it that lacked any sort of flavour. The other meal that was ordered was dull with no flavour as well.

I can't say enough good about this place. The concept is brilliant and the atmosphere is so comfortable. The food is excellent. One of the things I love about this place is the unique local art on the wall. Some of it is even for sale, which I'm sure helps support local artists.

Their vision is to "envision a world in which the dream of eliminating hunger of the body and the spirit has been achieved." I would have given this place more stars, but I'm from this world and this broth did not eliminate my hunger. Hope whoever is running this place is not pocketing 90% of what I paid for in this broth (southwestern Chicken soup) and is actually doing something positive for someone who really needs to eat.

A unique lunch experience. Have had the 3-bean soup and the chili; both were excellent along with the salad. I actually enjoy the self serve beverages rather than trying to get a waiter's attention.
