Seattle Jazzed it's not just a place where kids go to learn how to play music. For us it has become an extension of our family where the staff nurture and strive for excellence for themselves and for our children in reading, writing and mastering their instruments. The organization as changed my family's life for the better with the gift of music and friendships.

I was blown away by the summer camp recital and we are definitely enrolling our son for the school season. Jazzed not only provided superb music introduction but also a diverse and safe environment. Kuddos to the staff.

Jazz Ed is an amazing resource for young people interested in music. Every person involved is committed to young people and to jazz and to fostering the confidence and awareness of every young person taking part. I can't say enough good things about this place! Our daughter has been a part of Jazz Ed since middle school and this year graduates from high school and will be studying Jazz Performance and trumpet and Temple University. Jazz Ed programs inspired her and helped build her sense, as a young woman, that nothing could stop.

We are SO glad we found JazzED! I cannot say enough about this amazing organization and what it has done for our children. The staff and teachers are absolutely committed to their mission. Everyone who works there seems to be doing this for the best of motives -- to spread music and joy, and to preserve jazz for the future. They are also committed to equity -- to making jazz education accessible for anyone regardless of income, gender, race, social class, musical ability, etc.

And these teachers make magic happen! Their concerts are phenomenal! It is a true joy to hear these kids play. As an added bonus, the JazzED folks really seem to understand the importance of being positive role models for children, and of guiding them as they grow into mature, responsible members of the community. Jazz + healthy kids -- what could be better?

Two of my children attend, and they have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. They knew music through piano lessons, but had very little exposure to jazz. Through the program they've learned not just instrument skills, but also music theory. The program is also really flexible for those who have financial challenges. A great program, highly recommend it!

Seeing all these kids put on a concert after only 5 days on a new instrument (or first instrument!) was pretty amazing. My son loved it, and we look forward to having my daughter do it next year when she s old enough!
