Always a great atmosphere! Professional level actors

The shows at Seacoast Rep are always high quality! I have seen a number of shows over several years, and they never fail to disappoint. From the well known shows like Chicago and A Chorus Line to some of the more obscure productions from their Red Light series, as well as their youth productiins, there is something for everyone!

This was a great theater, but there is something terrible happening here. The amazingly funny and talented Miles Burns has been fired for political reasons. This has caused a chain reaction of support for Miles in the community as he has done nothing to deserve this. The theater won't be the same without Miles. They need to fire the unethical troublemakers and get this place back on track.

Great small theatre experience with a dozen or so shows a year

Tiny, quirky, intimate venue with a really passionate team pulling it all together.

Always a great time at SRT. Beautifully cool in the theater, in spite of 90+ degrees outside.

We saw an outstanding production of Once. Will definitely check out another show at this theater.

Went there to see Avenue Q and will definitely return. An intimate venue without a bad seat in the house. My wife and I are looking forward to attending many more shows here.

This place is magic. I cannot recommend it enough.

I have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed by a performance whether it be Mad Haus, a main stage show, or otherwise.

The seats may be a bit small, some seats may be far away, but what this theater brings is top notch talent and intimacy. There is just something special about being so close to the stage.

And the ingenuity of some of these sets! It blows a lot of what I've seen in Boston out of the "waduh".

I urge everyone, big, little, tall, short, old and young to check Seacoast Rep out - truly you won't be disappointed.

Some of the most incredible theatre I've seen. The theatre is set up so everyone can see, and the talent is incredible.

I love this charming theatre! They always have amazing talent and great shows! We were lucky to get a chance to see The Rocky Horror Show on Christmas night. It was the best version I had ever seen! Bravo!

We have been here a couple of times. We saw Rag Time last night and were absolutely amazed. The cast was so large I was very impressed by the choreography. The acting, singing and sound production will rival anything down in Boston.
My wife had tears in her eyes throughout the play.

A number local theater nice stage great play Evita I had to change seats to get more leg room. Overall a good time. Never seen a bit coin atm before so I added the pic.

Seacoast Rep is a brilliant theater with sooo many talented actors. I am very lucky, as a local, to have them just at my fingertips.

A true gem in a really fun town! & it's year-round! Just got home from Evita - absolutely fabulous! The caliber of the talent was a welcome surprise & treat, the theatre was designed so there is no bad seat in the house, the lovely chairs & tables in the lobby where you can sit before the show or during intermission add to "a night at the theatre" atmosphere. Loved it, will be back!

We really like this little theater. They produce excellent shows in what appears to be a small amount of space.
Professional actors.

Beautiful space; not very accessible for those with mobility struggles as the pit steps are very steep and the elevator does not go down to the lowest level.

Great little theater. A much more intimate experience because the theater is so small. We saw the Christmas Carol there and it was great!

I gave been a sustaining member for almost 20 years. Every year the quality and talent exhibited there is outstanding. It keeps getting better.

Every show we've seen here has been fantastic! Even though they have tiny bathrooms, a small lobby, and a theater that is hard to move into and out of seats, I still can't take stars away because the quality of the performances and the unique venue make it all worth it! They have been raiding money for renovations, so it may be getting better soon!

Wonderful black box style theater with stadium style seating. Only drawback is not much handicap-accessibility (elevator access to limited seating, plus accessible bathroom). Really professional productions with top-notch casts and crew. Don't miss this!

I love going to see musical theatre especially when such talented friends, Mr Brett Mallard are performing.
This is a great place to see they're all year long.

Inspiring, heartwarming, and challenging artistic live theatre. Big city theatre quality in a quaint New England town, Portsmouth is fortunate to attract the caliber of performers who play here.

Great venue. Very up close and personal and the show I saw was the best experience for the money I have ever had in theater

Saw wedding singer opening weekend. The cast as always was amazing, the music perfect , and the staff helpful.i haven't found a bad seat in the house!

Delightful tiny theatre puts the audience in the production. Excellent job with the very challenging "In The Heights" by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Great little theater. Not quite a theater in the round, but seating did go about half way around the stage. It is an old theater, but looked to be in great shape. Seating was a little snug, but again it was an old theater. The cast was amazing when I saw Tommy there. If in the Portsmouth area when they are putting on a show I would go again.

Great place to see a show! The stage is in a pit, it was fairly easy to see everything. There is a bar as well as a place to buy snacks in the lobby. There is a lot nearby with 4 hour paid parking (at a reasonable rate) so you don't have to worry about getting a ticket.

They put on a great Broadway show... Come back again all the way from Connecticut to see another show

What an amazing gem of a joint! We recently indulged in joining an amazing cast in the Transylvanian world of Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was astounding, time was fleating and madness certainly took it's toll. We time warped with the loveliest of transvestites and had the pleasure of devirginizing a few Sl*** and @ss*#**%. It's places like the Seacost Repertory that keep creativity alive.

No handicapped access, no elevator, elderly had a very hard time getting up and down the stairs to the theatre.

Fantastic experience for such a small theater! AMAZING voices and acting skills from the performers.

Beautiful historic theater that's so small that theres not a bad seat in the house. A great spot to see some of our local actors put on a show in the heart of downtown.

Allow me to state this has nothing to do with he show I saw. Online ordering DID NOT cue me into the fact that I was getting "FOLDING CHAIR" seats for "full" price. Otherwise intimate venue.

One of the best values around! Incredible productions by talented actors. Far better than paying a fortune at Ogunquit Playhouse and sitting in the back. Every show here is terrific!

Ok venue. Underground. Plays tend to feature lots of profanity.

The stage is set down in the basement and it's surprisingly big for what you see on the outside. A lot of fun live plays here!

We just enjoyed seeing the production of the Hunchback of Notre Dame! Such a wonderful local theater for us to be able to go to!

Love the Rep! I have seen a few shows here, and they have all been fantastic. It's a nonprofit theater, so it doesn't have a bunch of bells or whistles..but the theater itself is a really cool intimate venue. Since it's a nonprofit, the performers are always doing it for the love of theater..and it shows in their energy. Awesome place and very LGBQT friendly! Do yourself a favor and go see a show there next time you're in Portsmouth!

FANTASTIC play. Parking right nearby. Several restaurants also within walking distance.

Amazing community theater. Wide variety of shows and events. Professional actors and stage production. A small bar in the lobby is a nice touch. The only reason for not getting five stars is the chairs are very worn out. The chairs were murder on my back. But other than that this place is great.

Fantastic local theater, incredible performances, fun atmosphere, good snacks, great children's programs, historic location.

I have seen quite a few shows in Boston and some community shows on the North shore. The talent in the musicals here are incredible - they must have an excellent community pipeline to get talented people to perform in their shows. The space is quite odd and technically challenging though. Sure - you get really up close with the actors which is pretty thrilling at times - but I find it overall a technically / logistically a distraction from the show. Unless you are seated in one of the back rows (center) your perspective of the space and ensemble is often skewed to see just a few actors at a time. It's kinda like sitting in the front row of a movie theater: your constantly turning your head and it's very difficult to see the big picture - the setting the lights and the actors all at once. Instead you gaze around the space : seeing a few lights (sometimes shining directly into your eyes), a specific set piece, a couple actors, a prop and then back to another actor who is close by, then an audience member across the stage from you. It's a unique space for sure - but it's not how I like to see a show. Get seats further back and in the dead center and it shouldn't be nearly as distracting.

Small and intimate theater that did a fantastic job producing West Side Story. Sat in the front row and I almost had the cast in my lap. Fantastic place to take in a show and you don't have to go to the big cities to see a quality production.

Small theater but very welcoming atmosphere. Saw The Rocky Horror PIcture show, it was very good. Limited seating but all seats were able to view the stage. Overall very good !

Every show they put on is well worth the money. The theater is small, so you're up close and personal with the stage. I've seen four productions there now, and every single one has been absolutely stellar.
