I was at Comic-Con on Sunday and i wanted to bring something to the attention of management.
At about 3:30 on the afternoon of 6/09, a gentleman in a mobile scooter began having a heart attack/ seizure. Family members were calling for help and attendees were calling for security.
about 9 1/2 minutes later, a tall dark guy was slowly walking down the hall with an onsite medic yelling at people to get out of his way all while the gentleman in the scooter was convulsing.
1st, 9 minutes for security to arrive to the main entrance where there should have been security manned already, for an emergency is irresponsible.
2nd, this was a mans life on the line, there should have been ALOT MORE urgency then walking down the hall.
3rd, when i brought up my concerns to a manager on site, he laughed at me and stated that 10 minutes for on-site security and an on-site medic to arrive was normal. i stated that he was having a heart attack and there should have been more urgency. The manager smirked and said it was only a seizure , showing no concern or care for this gentile mans well being.
This venue needs to do a WAY better job at handling issues when it comes to attendees. If that was my family member, and he passed away, there would be a huge lawsuit.
They need to reanalyze how their staff responds to emergencies because the incident at Comic-Con this past Sunday was handled irresponsibly by Security, medics and management.
aside from that, nice venue
