I picked Showalter Villa for my husband because they advertise expertise in memory care. My experience was they did not provide an environment that was good for a severely memory impaired resident. Something in the environment was frightening to my husband and he was frequently upset and afraid. Communication was average at best. Many times my calls were not returned. Staff did not report behavior problems with my husband even after I asked them to do so. Weekends they seem to be understaffed or the staff was inexperienced. I don't know how much of this is COVID related but at a price of about $9500 per month I expected more. The day I picked up my husband s possessions and saw Showalter Villa in my rear view mirror was a good day.
