Photos don't do this Church justice. It is grand, regal, yet still feels grounded at the same time. I could see myself coming to hear Mass every week; and I'm the type who only goes to Church on Christmas & Easter.

Quiet place for prayer in an architectural atmosphere that is beyond compare in DC. The 6:30PM mass on Sundays attracts the younger crowd. Preachers are very good too, so is the liturgical music.

Beautiful cathedral. From the outside it looks nice and once you enter in, it will lift your spirit and filled you with awe. It has beautiful marble all around and art. It is worth visiting and attending mass. It is also the church were president Kennedy s requiem mass took place.

I was staying at hotel near there so decided to take a walk inside this beautiful building. To my surprise this is where services for JFK took place. Having only watched the TV coverage and reading magazine coverage when it was happening, I felt like I was in a time warp. It made those moments come alive for me. I'm so grateful the church memorialized this in tile.

An iconic, solemn and historic church. The architecture and art work is truly amazing. Even if one doesn't have the time or inclination to attend mass, it's worth taking the time to tour this beautiful church.

I used to go to Calvert School on 1717 RI Ave, Sad that It's no longer there! I made my 1st Holy Communion there at St. Matthews, and walked in many, many processions over the years. I always especially loved the St. Frances of Assisi chapel. Always dreamed of a small intimate wedding there when I grew up. That never happened, sigh. I was married in Ohio instead. Now when I do get back there, I can't even go in there to say a rosary, it's gated. :( I also miss the black & red Celtic cross on the floor at the front center isle. Sister always reminded us to follow the circle around when marching in processions. Now It is an ugly beige plaque that says JFK's casket once stood on that spot during his funeral Mass. Yeah, I get that momentous occasion, I remember it well, but I miss that beautiful marble cross that guided my foot so many times!
Reminiscing aside it is still a fantastically beautiful church, reflecting in its own man-made way, the beauty & majesty of God's glory! If you are a tourist, planning on going to Mass there, go at least one hour early so you can look around at all the beauty displayed inside, or you will be distracted from the Mass!

This is an excellent place to worship or just tour. Monsignor Jameson, the priests, and staff are top rate. The choir sings with angelic voices. Whether or not you are interested in worshipping, it is worth touring for it's historical significance and adoring it's magnificent pipe organ, Italian marble, and artistic tile work.

It was near my hostel, and I came here to attend mass before leaving DC. The architecture was amazing the intricate rosettas caught my attention. The small chapels along the sides were good space to be alone...

Beautifully serene place of worship! The architecture and art are just inspiring! Great place to meditate and reflect. I have always appreciated the midday Masses (pre-COVID), which were brief and allowed folks working nearby to pray on their breaks. There are also a variety of community outreach initiatives that connect you with ways to help others in the area.

This Catholic Cathedral may not be impressive from the outside, but it certainly has a beautiful interior : bright, shiny, beautifully decorated and with several side altars that makes prayer easier and peaceful. Sundays at noon they feature a great classic choir that makes Mass memorable

A very beautiful cathedral in downtown DC, near the red line metro DuPont Circle or Farragut North. 5min walking. Outside the Cathedral does not impress, but when you enter, you are impressed. Mass in Spanish on Sundays at 1pm.

My favorite Catholic church I have tried so far in the area. Father Greenfield gives wonderful homilies. Reminds me the most of a European Cathedral among the American churches I have been in.

Beautiful both inside and out. We came here for mass while traveling and attended a Latin mass. My husband is familiar but I always struggle with Latin. The booklet they provided was a big help for me to keep pace with the prayers and responses. The priest was a decent orator and the parishioners were all very kind.

Wow today was a shocking moment for me. I went to church today I have been going to this church since childhood. I go to Ms. Christine (Chorus coordinator) I asked if she had seen this person by any chance and her nasty response was I dont keep track of people of who comes in and out. She stated all I do is sing. I have heard multiple rumors of her disrespecting other Hispanic families and American families. She discriminates against the Hispanic community while working (because she gets paid.)
For a Hispanic mass. She even rolled her eyes. (How is this possible in a church). This church I will never suggest to go here unless they get rid of people like that. The person I requested for has been a volunteer for the church for many years. I will no longer step in this church ever again. Nor suggest anymore family members or friends to go here.

A beautiful Catholic church that I belong to and I go every Sunday. The music and choice are beautiful to listen to and the sermons are very inspirational. While the outside looks plain, the inside of the church is amazing. Come just to have a look and it is easy and convenient location for all.
