Saratoga Spa Golf Review

The course was in excellent shape.The greens were true and the speed was consistent all day. I also loved that the bunkers had real "white" sand, not the dirt most of our local courses use.

The staff is very friendly and the driving range is well maintained

Early season prices are fair... course in decent condition based on early spring.. In season the course is beautiful and in great shape every year, but mid season prices are way way way to high!!! My opinion in course condition peak season 5 stars!!! Price 3 stars!!!!!

Very well maintained and clean. Variety of tee box lengths for juniors through long-distance drivers. Newish electric carts, and reasonable pace of play.

One of the most well maintained courses in the area. The greens can be tricky at times. The course itself is very open with lots of opportunities for players to make up for any mistakes or shots that go haywire. The bunkers are only a few years from being completely renovated. Presents a good round of play whether you are a novice or an experienced player.

One of the best value countries I ve ever had the pleasure of enjoying.

Good course to score on for longer hitters and don t be fooled by the fact they don t have a STimp reading- these run at probably a 12!

Played today (10/12/2019) the course was in great shape and the staff was friendly. I ll definitely play this golf course once a year. I would play in more often but the greens fees are pretty pricey.

Nice course, but the guy behind the counter was very rude. Would love to go back but not if that old guy is behind the counter.

Great place for a moderate cross country skiing trip.

I love this place. I get my drinking water, can cross country skiing, golf and concerts. You can just walk or bike ride. Also has swimming pools

course used to be one of the true gems to play. In recent years it has gotten very stuffy. Pro shop staff were obnoxious and made me walk all the way back to the parking lot for my NY State drivers license. My name was in their system, so did they think I had moved????? Miss playing it, BUT, I'm glad I live in The Villages Florida, where we have 51 golf courses and the staff is ALWAYS NICE!!!!! Just like the rest of NY..going down hill fast!!!

Beautiful course in middle of Saratoga. Minutes away from track and racino. A++

We Love this course! Its always clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and informative. I was trying to purchase a Gift card for my Grandfather's Birthday ( Last Minute) during the Off Season and Bill Richardson the GM was nice enough to put me in contact with a staff member to meet me and process the GC that day so I could give it to him! Great Customer Service :)

Golf was good. A tad pricey. Pace of play was NOT enforced. We had to wait at evey hole. Five hour round.

Booked a golf outing for 12 friends. 2 were unable to make it, and despite calling 2 hours in advance, we were refused any type of compensation and, despite the fact it was pouring rain, were also refused a rain check. They were rude on the phone and the blunt refusal to even consider any refund (despite 10 people still playing) just seemed cheap and stingy to me. "We already have your money, so shut up" is the vibe that was given off when we called. Wouldn't recommend booking this place too far in advance or paying until you are sure weather will be nice. Won't be going back.

Spa golf is always manicured very well. Easy to book tee times on-line instead of calling in.

Very nice setting with tree lined fairways and great pace of play.

Practice range doesnt really have nice grass to hit off but the putting green has enough room to chip and putt.

Highly recommended place to play and of course lots of dinner options in Saratoga after the round.

Played behind two fivesomes. I had a 120 tee times on Columbus day. Look me up. Right in front of us was a two some. They were informed and encouraged by the ranger to only play 9 holes. We started waiting on hole 7. Called the shop. Sent ranger out who was in cohoots with them cause they play there all the time. Told us there was only one fivesome. I can count I saw them.. Anyways was informed they were in line with pace of play. That's BS , there are NO fivesomes!! Period end of story break them up. They were holding us and the group behind us up.
The ranger nor the fivesomes would allow us to play through.
Saratoga is a state course.
Disappointing. Great course with blatant rude rule breakers.

Best course right in town !!! Walking rates are the best and the course is perfectly laid out for walking

Just the perfect place to go in the summer time...very popular. It has a nice little restaurant at the turn and it is right next to the famous Victorian pool. Currently completing some cosmetic renovations Great for the adult crowd to sit and enjoy a hot day after golf.

Bring your own water

Course plays somewhere between easy to moderate , more on the moderate side - there are a few hazards to lose the ball and plenty of woods if you tend to stray a lot with your clubs to lose the ball into ...

In the winter it's a great place to snowshoe or cross county ski. Lots of parking.

Excellent experience all the way, from loading the clubs on the cart to the 18th hole. They've made the course much more fun for women, my wife enjoyed 3 pars! Starter was friendly, pace of play just fine. New bunkers are lovely. Very well maintained course. 10th green remake is a big improvement. Excellent pro shop, too.

I played this terrific course in late September. It was in tremendous shape and the greens were absolutely perfect. I have played all over the world and this is definitely one of the truest golf gems in the northeast. Great turf and a truly great golf staff. The bartender at Catherine's certainly was a great ambassador of the facility. Hope to come back sometime in the future.

One of the best courses in the area... Above average conditions.. and awesome layout.

Not worth the price during track season. Definitely a tourist course.

My golf partner is retired Navy and 70% disabled. He showed up at the course with his letter from the VA indicating his disability. The pro shoprefused to accept it to give him the reduced rate. Fairways were matted down. Greens would not hold at all. Absolutely not worth $69.

Played 9 at 8am, no one on course except groundskeepers and mowers. Well maintained.

Nice course. Things seem to have gotten better. The ranger years ago was crazy. It didn't matter how you were playing, he would still be all over you. I saw him harass a group two holes ahead of us for no reason. They weren't holding anyone up. Hope that ranger doesn't work here any more.

A beatiful place, with great hiking trails, historical buildings, mineral baths, green lawns, mature trees. Espicially in the fall, with all the beatiful colors. And close to town, Saratoga Springs, with great New England ambience and very good restaurants around. And of course, the immaculate golf course.

I love the nine hole, par 29 course here. Two par four holes and the rest par three. Quick play, great walk, great value.

My favorite course in the capital area! Beautiful and serene. As nice as the exclusive and expensive courses in the area. Lots of wildlife. Seems like at least one woodchuck per hole. Lol.

great layout and they are upgrading the course over the last few years. Love the area and course.

Played the executive course yesterday with my parents and kids (9 & 13). Perfect course for the family. This is the course I cut my teeth on many years ago and I still love it. Great to practice your mid irons and even get to drive on 3 and 9.

Little over priced for comparable courses in area, but will kept and run.

This is my favorite lil summer course. The tall pines and breeze are second to none sitting on top of the magical famous Springs and The Gideon for a martini not so bad. I really want to thank The Pro at Saratoga Spa Golf for introducing the 9 to my game. I have been scratch all winter at Trump National and I am looking forward to another summer at my favorite Saratoga Golf Course.

Course is in good shape. The layout is not interesting. Wide open with big greens and traps in places you'd expect. Good for beginners and mid-high handicappers who enjoy monotony.

Coarse is on great shape and the pace was very good.. Nice day !!

I did a women's golf clinic there with John. He was an excellent instructor, it was a lot of fun! Beautiful golf course!
