If I could give negative stars, I would. The inefficiency is beyond belief. Brought someone in for a heart condition and 5 hours later we re still waiting. Yes, I said HEART CONDITION. But it didn t even take them 30 minutes to come around to the waiting room to get my credit card for my $200 ER fee. Ridiculous. Photo below shows the lack of help around.

From the first step into the emergency room to ambulance transport to the hospital to being wheeled out to my happy husband I was treated with professional courtesy. The kindness and patience was amazing. I had to go into the overflow area because of the delta variant virus left no beds available. I guess the only issue I had was the curtains were pretty old and didn't offer the privacy needed for each patient. The nurses tried and they would even stand at the entrance to my cubicle so I'd feel more comfortable.I feel I got the best care and was able to go home happy. Thank you everyone.

I informed the pregnant young lady taking me to the back that i was deaf. She murmured something and kept walking about 10-15 feet in front of me. Despite the instructions I received prior to the MRI. She very curtly gave new ones. She could have easily just pointed to the ones on the wall, which turned out to be what she was saying- I believe. I did wait about a half hour after my scheduled arrival time
Taking the locker key and hanging it outside the room i was in for the procedure, simply gives access to anyone going thru that section to take the keys.
Tech had difficulty getting the vein. She said sorry about bruise when I was leaving. The ecchymotic area is currently under 3" by under 4". She did provide things to put in the ear and headphones to decrease the sounds.
She did not provide anything to assist me in getting up . I did ask about a cart that was there, but it was on wheels.
The young man who led me out, also went way ahead of my ability to keep up. I understand that other facilities are providing your choice of music to try to make it less difficult.
Although they require that you agree to self pay if your insurance doesn't, they do not provide any cost estimate, nor do they tell you if they have approval or denial from insurance company. They did not say how long it will take to receive results.

The RN Melissa right when you walk through the emergency entrance is absolutely amazing! She went completely out of her way and got right out of her chair without hesitation the second I asked for help with my sons car seat. I am a new mother and was trying to make him comfortable and adjust it for an hour and a half! I truly can t thank her enough. I want everyone to know how amazing Melissa and kind Melissa is!

Sent here because supposedly you have pediatric Er. Yeah no you dont. Not concerned about kids. All the old people need to be taken care of first. If all the area doctors want you to come here maybe you should, like other hospitals, have a dedicated pediatric Er.

My experience at the Breast Health Center was positive, from the valet service to the radiology lab and back to the valet. The staff was very professional yet caring. Everyone was respectful of my situation and I felt completely at ease. The follow-up report was good also and I knew the outcome of the tests by that afternoon and it was posted to my doctor the same day. Thanks so much for all you do for us.

Staff was top notch. I was treated better than I have been at any other medical facility of any kind. Everyone treated me with respect and made what would have been a very stressful procedure much easier to deal with.

I went out of my way to have the procedure done at SMH and I'm glad I did.

After registering at the Radiology reception desk, I was seated for a short time in a pleasant waiting area with six or seven others. Questions were asked and the procedure was clearly explained before going into the imaging room, a short distance away. The technicians were very considerate and professional, going out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I've had a few scans at SMH over the past ten years, and the experiences have always been positive.

It took forever to get any service, but I understand that there was a problem with the label printer. One I got called in, my blood was drawn and I was on my way in a matter of minutes. Wait time before being called: 40 minutes.

On Tueday, September 21, 2021 I was advised by my GI doctor to go to the emerergency room for treatment of my medical issues/pain. At the entryway of Sarasota Memorial
Hospital Emergency Department I was asked why I was seeking treatment and asked covid questions; cought, fever,... and did I have I have my covid shots. I was informed
that if I had any symptoms that I would not be seen at this location of the hospital.

During the inprocess I was in contact with SMH staff people not wearing facemasks. I was subsequently placed in a short corridor which had a alcove which was line with chairs.
The air circulation seemed poor in this section especially in the alcove.
There were some obviously very sick persons seated in this area. Next to me was a white male approximately thirty five years old, 5 foot six inches tall, over three hundred and fifty pounds and unkempt. The people placed in this area could stand up from their seats and touch the other obviously unwell people.

This male described above had a mask but did not have it over his mouth at all times. He began to forcefully cough and the rumbling of flem come from him made my stomach turn.
I then informed TWO of the SMH staff about the incident and absolutely no action was taken to remove or evaluate this subject. I watch him continue his process and continue to cough. It will be ease to track this subject as he processed when I did and was the only person fitting the description I reported.

During my inprocess they asked me if I received my covid shots but nobody asked for verification. Seems like they were putting us people at risk by not getting verification and following up on my report of the man with the disturbing coughing.

I would think that SMH has the entire hospital setup with video recording so it would be quite simple to verify the aforementioned reportings.

Now in the emergency treatment area I was seen and treated by doctors: Frank and Locklear. Both doctors presented as caring and compentent, no issue with either doctor,
they are what you want and should expect from health care providers.

My interaction and treatment by the my assigned nurse and another nurse who answered the call button was upsetting and unprofessional.

The two nurse that I was interacting with I would venture to say would not pass a nursing exam if they were given the answers. I was informed by the nurses
that they would get answers for my questions and they would disappear and ignore me. They would tell me they would convey messages and never did. My discharge
instructions were not complete and had information that I had no idea where it came from. I was told I would receive a non opoid drug for pain never receive it and when I addressed the nurse she quickly exited my room while saying you can go. I did not know how to exit the ER treatment area and stopped at the desk for directions.
Also the nurse who answered my call button said he could do nothing for me, not ask the doctor anything because he was not my assigned nurse. I felt intimidate by his presence and demeanor, he presenteed hiself like he should work as a bouncer. There are more details of this upsetting treatment.

When I was sent down to the CAT scan room, I asked for shields to protect my testicals and thyroid as I have been receiving alot of radiation, they said they did not have them and that the process was very quick, you see because it's quick there is no threat of radiation exposure ?
