For this thing I really appreciate turkish authorities! When I visited in August 2020 it was being partially restored from inside and the areas were closed to visitors. However, I could figure out by looking at the mosque that they really looked after for around 600 years that's why we still can visit. It is open to everyone no matter what religion you have you will not be turned out.

Epic historical dive! Look for the famous cat Gli, the pits in the marble by the main enterance from the thousands of soldiers who's been garding the gates for many centuries, and also the wishing tablet where you can put your thumb in the hole and twist your hand to make your wish.
The building itself it impressive and on it's own worth a visit. However, as a museum it disappoints. although the building has a rich history spanning almost fifteen centuries, the museum consist of nothing more than a few scarce signs with minimal explanation. I also rented the audio tour, which offers a bit more information, but in all is still unsatisfactory.
What a monument ! What a history ! Don't just see it from outside, go inside ! Besides that it is located face to the gigantic blue Mosque in one of the most beautiful squares in the world reuniting the two landmarks.
A must visit for first timers in Istanbul. I was in awe all the way from the outside to the inside of the building. Rich with textures and histories and you will just feel wow as you walk slowly and see the magnificent structure and the marble tiles everywhere. As a Muslim, it s very important to learn the history behind it so that we can learn and appreciate about all religions. It might take a while to queue, so try to be early if you want to visit this place. It s about 40 LT per person. There might be other people harassing you as you queue though, telling you that they can provide guided tour and you can cut the queue but that s entirely up to you. They looked a bit shady to me and I just ignore them. But bottom line, have to visit this place at least once in your life. Try to go on weekdays. Weekends is a killer but if you have no other choice, then come by really super early. You won t regret it. :)
Beautiful, very nicely maintained, fascinating and really a symbol of Turkey. Audio guide is nice to have. Tickets at the kiosk will save quite some time.
Amazing on the outside and Ok on the inside. There are lots of renovations going on inside which takes away from the glory of the mosque. Still great to see!
This place is amazing in the world. You will discover the architecture in the past to demonstrate. The greatness and commitment to demonstrate power, and sat in the East faith.
G is silent, called Haya Sofia. You are welcome One of the iconic and historic buildings of Istanbul. Right next to blue mosque and definitely a recommended one to see the history of Muslims and Christians aswell. Its a museum not a mosque which people often get miss guided. It has onetime 100 lira cost but you can get a pass which I guess gives you access upto 50 museums in Istanbul. If you have time to visit many museums than definitely take the pass costs 280 lira I believe.
No.....No.....No..... . 60TL is realy expensive. Only one Mosaic is available to face. It's an unbelievable fact to see when I compare with before and now....There were lots of things in 2nd. floor before.
It was so nice to be in such unique building ,the mosaics and the chandeliers are just amazing ,in my opinion it is the only Istanbul Museum worth visiting
I have been to a lot of Churches and Museums and I this is one place I keep going back. Every time I go I discover a new corner of this incredible place. I recommend particularly the second floor.
the walls of hagia sophia represent a blend between Islamic arts and christianity. hagia sophia was a church a mosque and today its a museum. will visit again. Inshaa Allah
Hagia Sophia or in Greek which means Holy Wisdom is actually a Church transformed in to a museum. It is a magnificent with no match building, worldwide. Standing there over 1500 year's. The visit is unique and definitely unforgettable. This monument and symbol of Christianity should become a Church again as built in the 5th century a.c.
The Hagia Sophia is of masonry construction. It s near by Sultan Ahmet . It s have a long historical stories from one generation to the next. Even if you read about it , what you gonna see in real will be different and made you see the beautiful architecture
Huge building that changing it's function from time to time, from a Mosque, Church, and now a Museum. It has huge dome, with oitstanding and beautiful structure and details. However it needs more effort to keep it clean and retain it's beauty
They don t make buildings like they used to. Restorations are ongoing, but do not detract from the sublimity this space invokes. I recommend an early evening visit on a sunny day; as the sun sets, light beams through the windows.
