We were looking forward to trying Santiago's and went out of our way to go there. Arrived at 12:51pm on a Saturday and the door was locked. There were people eating inside. Posted hours are 2pm. Plenty of time to get in and out arriving at 12:51pm. We won't go back.

I'm giving 5 stars, even though it was my first visit. The staff was amazing, which never happens anymore, anywhere! Food was pretty darn good, comparable to what you find in the kitchen, not food-chain new Mexican food. I'll go back
Great family owned restaurant. Very good food, coffee and prices. I also noticed they recognize a lot of their regular customers by name when they walk in and I mean A LOT. I'll be back!
Five stars is not enough!! I always enjoy going to Santiago's. They absolutely have the best. I don't have a favorite dish because everything is delicious. However I were to choose the carne adovada is it. They have a special that is always good and the iced tea is refreshing. I have also had them cater for my work and the entire staff raved about the flavor and quality of the various dishes. A must go to restaurant!
Nice smaller neighborhood restaurant. It has been around for a long time. Excellent quality food. The guaq is delightful. Family owned, check it out. Inexpensive too.
Amazing food and service! My band and I are on tour from NY and had to get something quick here in Alb... Totally worth it! We have two vegetarians in the band and they had many options... I went with the Chile Relleno special, and it was one of the best I've ever had. We definitely will be back next time we are in town.
I really enjoy the combo breakfast burrito with bacon and extra Jim's sauce. Used to buy the bottle of sauce they sold for days I tried it myself. I think they are open more now as well.
We love coming here on Saturday mornings for a gravy stack with sausage and red chili! Not only is the food great but the folks their are kind and caring. They treat everyone that comes in like their best friend. Everyone is welcome and the food is always good!
Santiago s has been a family-owned restaurant in Albuquerque for over 30 years. Today, Dad, Mom, and Sons were cooking, serving, pouring coffee, always with super friendly and quick service. Many long-time customers are locals who know each other, so there s often energetic conversations about motorcycles, fast cars, guns, and politics! For breakfast, my wife had the Huevos Y Carne (2 eggs, hash browns, ground beef patty, smothered with green chili, and a flour tortilla). I ordered the Santiago Scramble (2 eggs scrambled with hash browns, cheese, onions, chorizo, chopped corn tortillas, all smothered), plus a side dish of Sausage Patties I was hungry today! Everything was absolutely delicious! Ambience is bright, cheerful and welcoming, almost like a big family dining room. Prices are very reasonable. We ll be back soon to try their tacos, burritos, and biscuits & gravy. Definitely highly recommended.
I wish I hadn't waited so long to try this place. Staff was super nice and more helpful than I could have imagined. Food was excellent and plenty of it. I will be back there soon...maybe tomorrow!!
The food is amazing here! The family is very nice and always take care of you. Great little hole in the wall restaurant that is perfect for any budget.
My second time here and my wife s first. Previously came for the delicious ground beef and papa tacos. Today we each got a smothered breakfast burrito, half green and half red. Both were delicious and spicy. This place is a true gem. When the person which the restaurant is named after is back there making the food, you know it s going to be great! Everyone was so friendly and attentive. I didn t want my wife to miss out on the tasty taco so we we ended up splitting one. When we were eating, it was like we went back in time. People were friendly and courteous. A pair of men got up out of their seats to give their table to a family. My wife and I were talking about her birthday and the table next to us wished her a happy birthday when they left. People who come here seem to be regulars and that says a lot. We will be driving across town to come back again for sure!
We love this place. It has a friendly atmosphere. The wait staff and cooks are always smiling. You never feel rushed, so there is plenty of time to eat the delicious food. I love their beans!
FANTASTIC New Mexican food! Prices are low and portions are big. Its too bad they don't expand the restaurant or do a food truck or even open for more hours cause i would be first in line right at opening at any location the food is so good.
It was a great meal that hit the spot. The place was cozy and easy going. The staff was friendly and on top of things. This place is a real a real gem with down home cooked food.
Miss Mom and Dad's cooking? Come to Santiago's for NM and American food done the way you like it for an affordable price. This is not fast food. This is a good meal done quickly. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and helpful, too.
I always liked it here. On Tuesday I went in and ordered a lunch burrito with potato and beef. It was lunch time. 12:00pm.well it was not what I ordered, Chile good, that's all. Potatoes were hash browns all overcooked and old. Ugh, I had some of chile, owners daughter offers another order. She insisted the hash brown was normally what they use. I told her I had this before with potato not hash brown. Well ill never go there again. Ugh ugh
I love eating here when I can! Being from Texas, mexican food is a staple in my life, but not just any mexican food will do! I love going to Santiago's! Green chili at its finest! Nice armosphere, family owned and operated. Great mexican food. I can't ask for better than that!
I had ceviche it was mediocre with 1000 count shrimp, gross, I couldn't even finish it all, I am just thankful I didn't get food poisoning, this food isn't Mexican I don't know what it is! I warned you!
Some of the best tacos in town. The family that owns the restaurant is so nice and take the time to make sure you get the best experience. Love this place.
Friendly service with very classic tasty New Mexican diner food at a great price. Heads up for vegetarians though, I'm 90% sure their beans are made traditional-style with either pork or lard.
Very rude! My daughter was counting Sweet and Low packets to help entertain herself and the owner very rudely told us we had take them away from her. I've never been treated so poorly. We didn't even get a chance to eat. We asked for a refund and left and went to La Salita down the road, where we weren't bothered about our child.
New Mexican food done exactly like every other New Mexican place does it. Dull decor. We came with 8 people at lunch time and they struggled to get the orders ready. Even the chops and salsa were subpar.
