This place doesn't even deserve any star rating..My grandmother is currently in there to get stronger so she can come home...And I call her daily - there are so many things that have happened alone within 1 week. She is never bathed and have a sever case of yeast infection, she gets medications she isn't suppose to be taking, aids telling her that there are new rules about not calling them or can't call upon help for 2 hours, day shift nurses making her wait hours on end just to go to the bathroom, not being fed enough through out the day and I highly doubt a baloney sandwich is filling..This place either needs to get their stuff straightened out or hire better staff who know what they are doing - because I'm at the point to where I might as well call a lawyer for malpractice with medications and neglect for not knowing the basic needs for a human being.

The facility and staff are fantastic. My mother lived there at the end of her life. The place was always clean, the meals are nutricious and delicious. The residents are always happy. They offer lots of fun activities. Mom s room was so nice. She was able to decorate it and make it home. She had 24/7 care but also was able to have privacy when wanted. When it came time for Hospice care The Sanctuary people were so helpful, kind and loving. I highly recommend The Sanctuary at Wilmington Place.

Where to begin. I will not post any newer incident...

Where to begin. I will not post any newer incidents ; as these will be reflected to our attorneys. And the events that I do post now are ones that the administrative staff are already aware of.

The staff at the sanctuary are "kind" but as far as making sure they take care of special needs or requirements of their patients - they absolutely should be discredited. Facilities such as the sanctuary are suppose to provide qualified care to their patients as an ongoing event - not act like they care when in truth they do not. The only way that I can suggest their actions and accountability when things go wrong is detestable. My mother stayed at the sanctuary during the course of recovery from pneumonia and found herself waiting an hour or longer to get anyone into her room when the call light was put on. She was tested and shown to have some sort of anemia - and it took them over 5 days from the point of finding out that she had anemia to getting a stool sample to see if there was blood present in her stools. This is due to the fact that the aids and the nurses routinely fail to communicate information to one another. And when identified problems were referred to the administrative staff there - nothing was changed, instead the aids and nurses grew hateful and did things which indicated their vindictive nature towards patient complaints such as waking her up in the middle of the night, threatening her, making her wait long periods of time before answering, occasionally they would fail to come at all. Covering for one another when issues did arise, and I caught one having no problem lying straight to my face. Our family has decided to seek an attorney because no one should have to experience this kind of treatment of self or a loved one.

The sort of events that my mother experienced has induced stress upon her life, to where she has been having to take anxiety pills.

I would highly suggest that you ignore the fluff that the staff and nurses give to you if you have a loved one at this facility - and talk to them carefully to see if they are being treated like a human being with needs, and if those needs are being met.

The only reason I did not give this place one star was because of the treatment by a couple of people, and the staff in the physical therapy group. They were giving my mom showers, they were treating her yeast infection, they were doing the job that the aids and the nurses should have been doing but were not. If the facility was filled with staff such as from their therapy division it might be a good place - unfortunately therapy is only available the weekdays and in the am - not in the evenings or the weekends.

Ultimately, if you do have a family member in need of specialized care - or something that requires more than the occasional bed changing - I would look elsewhere.

My 89 year old grandma was left unattended today

My 89 year old grandma was left unattended today
She fell and broke her nose and no one can explain to me and my family what happened
There is no explanation to this kind of irresponsible act of negligence and I promise you this is not the last time they've heard from me or my family
My grandmother was sent here for care and rehabilitation instead she end up in MICU!!!

Not sure what some are saying here but my mother has been here 3 years. As Mrs Gore stated a bologna sandwich is ubsurd never have I seen! The staff and the nurses have been efficient, polite, and quick! Sorry negative remarks not needed. I will also say this not only my mother has been there but a couple of others. Breakfast, lunch, dinner is all served healthy style I've eaten there. For the ones that are negative your the problem, your not there 24/7 maybe there have been issues there but address it instead of complaining on a website. I've complained about a housekeeping incident was fixed same day, Their rehab is amazing as well my mother has lost over a 100lb! Recommend highly!

I had about a 5 month stay at this facility. When I arrived, I had some negative thoughts about some of the care. I arrived during the night shift and soon realized that there were staffing issues, especially at night. Once I got to know the people caring for me, I felt safe and better about enduring the long stay ahead of me. I had challenges here and there after that, but I saw change happening from a patient perspective and I felt I better understood how to help manage what I needed throughout the day and night. I particularly found the day shift aides to be great, the therapy staff was great and the Social Work area to be top notch. In fairness I didn't work with everyone, therefore I can't comment on all departments. I honestly think there is more work to do to organize some day to day functions and fully staff the facility, but I can honestly say that I left there with new friends that I never anticipated. If you know your needs, limitations, and what can and cannot wait in terms of care, and you have reasonable expectations of the staff, then this is definitely a good place to try for rehabilitation.

I am the Director of Marketing/Sales at 10 Wilmington Place. I just want to clarify that The Sanctuary is on our campus, but we do not run The Sanctuary and there is no connection with our community.

We couldn t be happier with the services my father received during his stay at The Sanctuary! Everyone was respectful and truly had my father s well being in mind at all times. All questions were answered quickly. The Physical therapist and occupational therapists involved with my dad s case went over and beyond all expectations. They were constantly evaluating what needed to be done in order to meet my father s needs. Nurses, social workers, and nurses aides were wonderful and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend the Sanctuary for anyone wanting to find a skilled nursing facility where their loved one will be taken well care of.

The Sanctuary is an amazing place that really care...

The Sanctuary is an amazing place that really cares about the well being of their patients. Unfortunately, over the past several years, my mom has spent time in many short term rehab facilities in the local area. The Sanctuary is by far the best overall! The building always looks and smells clean. The staff is extremely friendly and always attentive. The food is outstanding! There is no better therapy team anywhere! The therapy team goes above and beyond to tend to my moms individual needs. The nursing staff go out of their way to ensure patients receive the best personalize care possible. I have been highly impressed with the communication and the support from all the staff. Honestly, from all our previous experiences elsewhere, the Sanctuary at Wilmington Place is the best place to provide true quality care for your loved ones.

This is the cleanest, friendliest place I have ever been, and I have been to many. I went to visit my sister there and the staff were so kind and housekeeping does a great job keeping the building so clean (no odors like i have seen elsewhere). My sister is well- cared for and the staff are so kind and caring. I would highly recommend The Sanctuary at Wilmington Place to anyone looking for a care center!
