Great place to just breath! Very Serene, good fishing, and lots of good people that hang out there. So if you want to be alone it's perfect, if you want to talk to people it's also perfect. Lots of great rowing events as well

Reviewing specifically the kids playground: this place is awesome for the very young set. If you ve got toddlers that are just walking, this is the place for you. Lots of little things for them to do, rubber flooring, one gate that locks. Older kids will enjoy it, too, but it s especially great for littles. Only drawback: no shade. Like, none, unless you re there very early or very late. Benderson can surely afford some shade sails to make this park more useable in the summer and in the heat of the day.

Beautiful lake for taxes, and great facilities, including a shiny new tower, but the fields used for event parking are basically mud pits- not fun to slog through! Relatively few mosquitos, though, and fireworks were great. Parking is cheap, but it took 45 minutes to get out after event.

Nice area for a walk, run or cycling - well maintained, clean and not very busy. Sun can be too much during the day, go after sunset, the sky and sunset color can be quite spectacular after heavy rain - all in all it's a nice, relaxing place.

Love the outdoors and the park offer walking/ running and biking trail. Has an area for the young ones and a mall on the opposite street. Many shops before you get to the park. Enjoy, you'll love it.

Beautiful park. Has trails all around it. You can drive all the way around it or park near the county building for the playground or a bench in the center.

However, most of the park is in the sun. This includes the playground. All of the parking is in the sun.

A park to optimize the ways we visit it: walking, biking, sculling; only a swimming area is missing. Easy access, ok parking - not enough handicap spaces. The play area has sufficient shade now. Other areas could use it.

Very quiet and good parking. Many people like to walk or run the perimeter of the lake. About 5k or roughly 3.3 miles.
Lots to do on the lake... Kayak or fishing and a children's playground. Check the paper for other things going on. Also bathrooms available.

No shade, no benches to sit or tables to eat from. Event last weekend.... misleading. Great charity, just not clear what Drinks included with $10 upcharge ... not clarified until inside and $$ paid. Free samples of Craft beer for the extra$$. Ok. Not really. I. Don't. Drink. Beer. Esp. not draft at 12 noon just saying!!! Free food samples were skimpy and ... not clear that food was not included. Hmmm.

Nice large park to do some running, walking, biking, or rollerblading. Bring your dog to play lakeside or your kids to the shaded playground.

Only complaint is that it could use 1 or 2 more permanent restrooms/water fountains on the south side of the lake. Otherwise, great area.

Seems like a nice enough Park. when they're hosting a big event like fireworks on the lake they need to be on social media with real time updates to keep people apprised on weather status, traffic and revised band schedules and parking lot availability above and below water. Its really not that hard.

The July 4th event was great. Greg Billings put on a great show . Was a very good fireworks display. In spite of the weather. food and other offerings were well priced. They had plenty of staff to help assist parking. However, they had no staff to assist the egress of the event. One police officer was managing all Lanes of traffic at the apex of the exit point. In the meantime, all the other intersections of egress on the property we're not managed. Took us over 45 minutes to leave and we were in the car shortly after the fireworks ended. My advice to the patronage of future events is to observe the amount of people parked there and ask some of the staff if there is going to be traffic direction deep within the parking lot before you exit. At least it will give you an idea of how to plan when you leave the event.

This place is huge, it has 2 long trails you can take. Walking, running, cycling, and skating is what people usually do there. You can also take your dogs. On occasions you can see the rowing teams practicing or on their competitions. The lake is clean but at times there are pieces of trash scattered around. The park is also close to UTC so its nice. It gets somewhat quiet at nights due to low traffic on 75. Only thing that I didn't like is that there are snakes there, so be careful going near any pond or wooded area. Overall it's a good place to go and unwind.

The entrance off Honore is closed for construction vehicles only (GPS coordinates 27.35921,-82.459651). Instead you must enter off North Cattleman Rd (near 27.37577,-82.449834). Took us a good 20 minutes to drive all the way around once we noticed the closure.

The facilities are still under construction, but you can already enjoy the park. Use caution parking in non-paved areas as you can get stuck.

Nik Wallenda is currently practicing for his tightrope walk across the Grand Canyon here. You can see him until 6/19/13 for free and get his autograph. Just visit his website for details.
