Beautiful library. It has that modern look. A great place to study, relax, and read books.
An excellent place to read, it has a room with magazines where you can also use your computer. Free Internet access and underground parking.
Love this library. Beautifully maintained inside. I wish there were more kids activities like in Fremont library.
Library is really quiet and very pleasant environment.
Great library! Best in San Mateo but needs longer opening hours. Especially on Sunday! However it does have free wifi.
Beautiful library, wonderful atmosphere and plenty of tables and plugs
Wonderful library. On the first floor there is a great Friends' Book Sale /Reading Room and Children's area. On the mezzanine floor is where the magazines are at. The 2nd floor has the computers, business, management and non-fiction books with great reading reading and study areas. Fiction, audio, and the cafe are on the 3rd floor.
The library also holds book talk events with authors that have been very informative.
Parking is free and underground.
Spacious, has good lighting, cafe located at the 3rd floor, wide variety of books, well ventilated, lots of tables, chairs and conference rooms.A very nice place to study. 2 hours parking limit quite a hassle especially if you're planning to stay in order to read/study longer...you have to move your car elsewhere or just commute I hope they had a flexible time limit better yet no limit at all.
I was there yesterday and was horrified as I watched some moms form a circle on the floor and started eating snacks and feeding their children. The amount of crumbs left was dusgusting. Later on I asked the librarian if it was OK to eat there and she said that it is not. Then said that she spoke to said moms. BUT why didn t she say anything when this moms started eating? It was in plain view. Totally not acceptable.
One of the best public library in Bay Area. There is plenty of space for studying.
Place for everyone. Quiet rooms, plenty of windows, public PCs, coffee shop, magazine area, roomy children area.
This is the biggest library in San Mateo. It was built in 2006 but it's so modern and has good ventilation. Lot of places to sit and study in the second and third floors. They have meeting rooms too but I did not use them. Internet is fast.
Warm service, convenient parking, large scale, lots of books
The most beautiful library I've ever been, modern, clean and well structured. It has several floors with computers and books all tidy by section. There is place for children, young people and adults. It has parking and coffee.
Why work from an expensive co-working space or noisy coffee shops when you can use the library? The library feels very modern, has tons of seating areas, has great wifi, and even a little cafe area on the top floor. Open hours are good as well!
I came here with my toddler, and was happy to see the thoughtfully designed children s section. There were several areas for smaller kids to play while parents looked for books. It isn t always easy to keep kids entertained (my son s idea of entertainment at a library is to grab as many books as he can and throw them on the floor), so I really appreciate the activities they have there. I also like that there is a wide variety books in other languages, especially Chinese children s books!
I'm obsessed, I love this library! You can check out e-books and read them from your phone, they have a great selection of books available. You can rent rooms here if you want to take a business call in the middle of the day. Coffee shop on 3rd floor... I'm sold.
Big library with good collections and several community events. This library is also part of San Mateo County library chain and hence easy to request books from other libraries in the system for pickup. Free wifi and a great place to peacefully work and read.
very good except for the cafe worker wont give out a free cup of hot water and its all over priced crap wat a joke get a different vendor
Staffs were friendly and was farm. Great selection of books and they have many genres. Clean place and the ambiance was good.
I like this library a lot, I wish that their hours were longer, but I guess people don't go to public libraries to study anymore.
The best public library in the state. Plenty of space to study, parking is free, and a huge non-digital book selection that is very well maintained. The volunteers and staff are extremely helpful and the community programs are exceptional. The library also has quality computer access for job hunting and a superb display of artifacts that rotate frequently to accommodate our state and nation's history.
Best library hours around. Great selection of books. Helpful staff will educate you. Nice and close to increasingly trendy downtown San Mateo with coffee shops and bars.
This library is very big! It has a lot of books, study rooms. The librarians are really nice, they helped me a lot!
Must also checkout the books purchase section, they have some great times there.
It says Two hours parking before 6 pm. but you can park after 6 pm till they're close when they're open till 9 pm on Monday to Thursday. Quiet and big beautiful place. Coffee store is small not easy to find it but looks very nice. Many different tables and places are ready for you anytime.
This library is good. 3 floors. 1st floor for kids who are loud. Second floor is for people who are quiet and love to read and study. They have private rooms as well, i guess you have to reserve the room. 3rd floor has computers and coffee shops. The way they organize the layout, it's a 5 star for me.
Beautiful architecture. Great selection of books and media.
they have the date of Yalda event on Sunday wrong , it should be 12/17 which is said 12/16..I dont know why they dont correct that.
Beautifully designed building, open and airy. I go there to work in a quiet and productive setting once or twice a week. I am glad the hours have expanded, and would like it even better if the library stayed open until 10pm.
Very pretty and the staff is great, but the wifi is extremely sketchy. Many times I have had to return home because it does not work. I have a new Mac Laptop and the latest OSX software.
My favorite library. It's well designed, lots of available new DVDs and books.
The kid's section is awesome with plenty of books for all ages, toys, educational stands and story time!
Love going there with kids or on my own. Lots of good materials to browse and check out. Almost our second home.
I'm not sure what is going on at this library, my daughter came home today and said, that a group of girls came in to their study room calling them a bunch of private school Bs and told them they wanted to fight.. my daughter and her friends reported them to the Librarian and she did nothing so she called me and I picked her up.. this should not be tolerated.. you are there to study, not have a group of girls enter your study room come on and demand a fight. Something should be done and the staff should be fired for allowing it.
