This place is very charming and has a homemade breakfast with homemade apricot jam from the trees on the property. The room was clean and the hotel has easy access to town. Any small issues we had were very quickly addressed and remedied. It s a family owned place with a very family feel. It s not fancy or formal but it s cozy, clean, charming and authentic. I will definitely stay there again!
Off the beaten path, but lovely location not far from downtown. Very pleasant room and lovely staff. Grounds have a peace path and labyrinth, fun little touches, and lots of potential in landscaping that it looks like they are working to realize.
Really historic and beautiful lodging. Super great hosts.
Can't even rate it. Never got past the person who answered the phone to attempt to make a reservation. She seemed so put out that I had dared to call because she was so busy... that I didn't want to even deal with that attitude. I'll take my business elsewhere! First impressions are very important. That person needs a serious customer service lesson! Leave the bad days off the front desk.
Blue Sky Retreat Center is warm and cozy. We highly enjoyed our stay at the quiet and quaint Blue Sky bed and breakfast. Our room was really nice with a fireplace and oversized shower. We had a king size bed that was super comfortable and the sheets were soft. Marina one of the owners made us a fresh breakfast each morning, her egg frittata was phenomenal and so were the potatoes, squash bites, and sliced fruit. My boyfriend loved Blue Skys daily coffee and tea selection. Make sure to take a dip in the pool and hot tub and walk the labyrinth out front. This place is a gem in Taos! Thanks, Blue Sky for a great weekend!
A very unique and cozy place to stay with a wonderful gourmet breakfast included! Off the beaten path but a 5 min drive to the hub of activity. If you re looking for something different, comfortable and friendly, this is it!
I actually live in here in Taos but I wanted an elegant place to completely unwind without the distractions of home. This property was perfection! I booked my stay on the same day, and Albina managed to upgrade me to a larger room free of charge. Breakfast was quite tasty, too: a frittata, potatoes, sausage, and coffee all served precisely at 8:00 a.m. I was pleased to see that they honored my dietary restrictions, too. When I mentioned in my email that I'd be doing some yoga while I was there, Albina was kind enough to send me links to some complementary yoga videos that she created. The property itself definitely has a few Taos quirks like a lack of screens on the windows, spotty internet connection, and thinner walls than I'd like, but those things didn't really matter to me in the end. For the price, this place can't be beat! Oh, and the apricot jam is DIVINE...
The beds and room were all very clean and nice! The only downside was that part of the ceiling fell into the breakfast room! Although the workers there swiftly cleaned the mess.
I've been already 2 times at Blue Sky Retreat and I'll be back for the summer for a yoga training. Both experiences had been amazing. Great breakfast and people to hang out with. If you don't feel like driving and want to do a hike there is a mountain to do so. If you are close to Taos or planning on going feel free to check it out, you'll be delighted with all of it.
Great place to stay one of the better bed and breakfast around taos staff was wonderful if ur looking for that old taos that's the place 100+ yrs
Staff was amazing, room was great size, but it was hot (no A/C), otherwise it was perfect.
This place is great. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The owner/manager is amazing. I think she does most of the work for the whole lodge. Clean pool/hot tub and a very friendly feel. Good prices too!
Beautiful accommodations in Taos NM. Not far from ski resorts and per friendly. The best part is the friendly service (they booked us the same day and fast), they delivered a delicious breakfast and coffee with homemade apricot jelly, and the area has lots to do & see. Thank you BSR staff!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Blue Sky Retreat for a few nights and it was amazing. The lodge has lovely grounds to walk, complete with amazing views. Albina brings her mom's delicious home cooked breakfast with coffee every morning. It would be a great place to chill after a day of skiing as well as an awesome place to have a yoga retreat or something like that. 10/10 would lodge again
The room was comfortable. The food was DELICIOUS! The stars are SO bright at night! It's right on the edge of Taos and 30 minutes or less from any of the FUN things you can do. The fireplace is wonderful! I am bummed so much of the extras were closed due to COVID, but they bring your food to your door, which is amazing. It is a little strange not to have a microwave, but not a deal breaker. The owner/ staff are lovely people and the beds are Comfy!
Overall, we had a great stay at Blue Sky. There was some miscommunication with the room we reserved, and it was a full holiday weekend, however, Albina was very accommodating and provided the extra person in our group breakfast, even though not listed in our reservation. The breakfast was excellent and the apricot jam is perfect! We stayed downstairs and there are no screen doors, which would be great for fresh air, as the windows don't allow much fresh air to circulate. We were in room 3, which can sleep 4-5, but it was a little tight. We will definitely be back and reserve a larger room so we all have plenty of space.
Ridiculous accommodations in Taos. Wonderful natural breakfast. You are close to town but feel like you are in the country. Great place to rejuvenate after hitting the Taos Ski Valley.
I am an employee and the people who run this place are amazing and so caring. I worked at many places for maintenance but they treat everybody equal rather you are a guess or an employee you'll be more like family I don't think I'll leave just because they are family now and you have to meet Mom she the best
Beautiful location. Wonderful staff. Delicious food.
Very friendly and welcoming. We stayed 2 nights and our room never got cleaned. The grounds could use some cleaning.
Blue Sky is a wonderfully peaceful place to stay! Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot breakfasts delivered to our door, and the coffee was quite delicious. Thank you for making our time there relaxing.
Even though COVID protocol was in place, Albina did a wonderful job making us fell welcome and safe. We were treated to amazing pears picked right off the tree and her mom's home cooked breakfasts were delicious. We left with a jar of homemade apricot preserves the will be savored at home.
The rooms are plush and cozy. I know it as a yoga retreat. It is in a private serene setting
This lace is amazing love it here, grate memories..
Seemed very out dated and they need to work on getting rooms clean. Over all a very nice piece of history i would stay thete again for sure....
Blue sky retreat review
Secluded, historic, beautiful lodge, owned by inspiring couple, is ideal for peaceful and enjoyable vacation. Cozy rooms, fireplaces, pianos, delicious home-cooked meals, sunrise and sunset views, watching stars while in the hot tub. Meditation path makes it even more special. You can enjoy skiing, picturesque scenes, fresh air or fantastic yoga retreats. Unforgettable time on the enchanted land underneath the blue sky.
Lovely place with a great view. Breakfast was wonderful and brought to our door. Close to downtown.
Words can t even express how peaceful and beautiful this retreat is. The labyrinth is awesome and the mountain view is out of this world. Your soul will feel rejuvenated after a night here!
Excellent place.
The room is really nice, very clean and comfortable. It has a fireplace and nice atmosphere. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is really good. Hotel has a nice and relaxing hot tube. I would definitely recommend this place.
Very easy to book, our room was upgraded and the place was so perfect we extended our stay! Such accommodating hosts and the breakfast will be sorely missed! They are very Covid safe. It is a historic property so there are a couple quirks but a terrific value and I would recommend!
It's a really nice place staff is great the food made from scratch really good clean rooms
Blue Sky is the perfect destination for peace, but close enough to the Plaza, or any other destination you may have. I arrived shortly after "the season" and had the luxury of meeting the staff and appreciating the walking path. Blue Sky is for those that want to leave the technology, that we are addicted to, behind. Wifi doesn't reach the 2nd floor, my phone worked regardless where I went.
My room was comfortable and neat & clean, spacious enough for two, even though I was the only guest. Since I am believer in being eco friendly, I required no room service although I was ask every morning. At first glance the price may appear high, but I was looking for clean & safe. Blue Sky delivers on both counts. Thank you Alice for taking such care of me.
Perfection: Great hosts, copy and comfortable room, beautiful lodge and grounds. Surpassed my expectations.
Location was beautiful, service was amazing, but the power would trip every now and then.
Great location for skiing Taos. Google maps does not do the drive to Taos Ski Valley justice, it's very easy. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is wonderful.
The building its self is amazing, very fun to explore. The grounds were beautiful and there was a nice path to walk along. The room was clean and spacious. Did not use the pool but it looked very nice. Marina was the best!! Her breakfast was on another level and the handmade jam was top notch.
Great hospitality and people. Greeted once we walked in and introduced to other guests, the rooms were nice and cozy. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing and welcoming environment.
Such a lovely experience all the way around. Can t wait to come back post Covid restrictions. Thanks y all
This place is absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay. Hot breakfast with great fresh coffee in the morning, a beautiful garden with trees, benches and a hammock for laying around. Convenient location 4 minutes from Taos, 4 minutes from great hiking like the Devisadero Trail, 45 minutes from Taos Ski Valley and the Wheeler Peak Trail.
Albina is a great host, who responded in less than a minute every time we contacted her. She really aims to please. And the Apricot Jam was delicious!
No AC in the rooms, but we did ok with the open window and the fan.
Very nice accomodations, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast!
I stay here whenever I am in Taos and have found each stay to be very pleasant and comfortable. Staff are friendly and accommodating, helpful and kind. This has an independent feel to it with availability present when needed. Breakfast is great, stories are wonderful, lodge dog is fun to be around! I am hesitant to give San Geronimo Lodge such a high rating for fear of reservation unavailability the next time I am in town.
This is an amazing retreat center. The caretakers are generous and genuinely kind. Service was wonderful! Food was great and the grounds are beautiful!
Customer service is awesome from Bob and especially Maria. The place is cozy and we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the biggest room it accommodates up to 6. Bob welcomed us. The breakfast was good. I was given free breakfast for my teenagers (they only ate the 1st day) as well and that was greatly appreciated by Bob in the front desk. They have 24/7 selection of teas and coffee as well as dvds, board games and it was nice to see that. I was also given a 20% discount since it was advertised on Instagram, for the month of November, so that was appreciated as well.
I had misunderstood the billing and the owner replied promptly via email. The only complaint would be that on our last day a water pipe burst prior to checking out. I was informed that the water would be turned off since it was the second time it was turned off, first time for the water filter. I was called on my cell on the second time but my family was not able to use the toilets nor shower :-( before our 7 hour commute back home.
I did ask for an additional discount for the lack of water on my last day but was not issued one. I was instead reminded by Albina (the owner) through email of my prior discounts that were issued by the lovely staff prior to this incident.
My family grew up in Taos so I ve known this place forever. My mom used to work in it, when she was young. We heard when it got sold to the new owner. Asked if my family and I could swim in the pool and front desk woman said yes. Was going for a few days and the last day we went, there was a rat in the pool.
I personally took it out with the pool net and told the front desk. Owner came out and said we could no longer go in the pool after that incident.
So I m writing a review.
My roots are from Taos and the Pueblo. So screw this place! DO NOT GIVE THEM SERVICE!
Secluded and peaceful. Close enough to the center of town yet off the beaten path. The staff was great! They made us feel right at home.
Second time to stay at this awesome place! Roger and Albina have made sure this place is beautiful, peaceful and serene. I was able to bring my daughter and her son with me this time. He loved the Labyrinth and pool! We loved the breakfast and the staff made us feel right at home!! King bed was amazing and just as comfortable as I remembered, and perfect for a good night's sleep before a long drive home to Texas!
If you're looking for a peaceful, quaint and beautiful place to stay while in Taos, look no further than Blue Sky Retreat!!! We will definitely be back!!!
Our stay at Blue Sky Retreat was lovely. The staff were efficient and kind and the room was clean and as advertised. Breakfast was better than the standard hotel breakfast also.
This family owned lodge is run by extremely warm and friendly staff amidst gardens, songbirds and a creek. Loved the food, the charm and the location. We highly recommend it.
That isn't a Labyrinth. That is a lovely Peace Path. I was excited there for a minute then I saw it and was disappointed.
Very nice hotel with beautiful rooms and very good breakfast. It is located at the edge of Taos and very quiet. It has a nice yard.
My homie and I stayed here to get away from the city towards the end of the covid quarantine. We pulled up it was magical. Albina treated us like VIPs and her mom cooked us a bomb breakfast. Definetely going back for the hot yoga! Can't wait
Awesome service, a tad hard to get to though. Great off-the-beaten-path location, beautiful and locally run. Made us breakfast just for our visit. Needs some landscaping work but it has new owners
Absolutely beautiful building and area where breakfast was served and the owners were wonderful but that is where the love ends. The room was tiny, old, plaster coming off walls, dirty, spiders, no fridge or microwave and no icemachine!
This was a wonderful place to stay. Our room was comfortable, the staff was very friendly, and we had a delicious breakfast.
Wow! I can't say enough about Blue Sky retreat center! From the moment we stepped onto the grounds it felt like home with a little more magic. Breathtaking mountain views from multiple areas on property and fresh homecooked breakfast every morning. My favorite part was the apricot muffins and jam made from the apricot trees on the property! I'm thankful for the amazingly clean room during this covid stuff too. The grounds are beautiful and we did yoga throughout the property and peaceful walks along the labyrinth and path on site. We will 100% be back to this enchanting retreat center!!
Pros: beautiful land, decent breakfast and coffee (though if you have any dietary restrictions, they will forget by the end of the trip) comfy bed, good water pressure, the apricot jam they make is very good
Cons: Not private. Rooms are all in a row next to each other and everybody hangs out in front of the rooms. To cool down the room, you have to open the windows. You can hear everything everyone is saying. one lady was sitting in the chairs right under our window, and talking loudly. I had to ask her to leave. Not soon after, her kid was playing with our door nob. I was hoping for a beautiful view in a quiet, private area. Instead I felt trapped in my room with no romantic atmosphere with my SO, since it wasn t private and we had stranger kids yelling outside the door.
The toilet didn t flush properly, so we had to deal with waste in it the entire stay. We asked about switching rooms, but was told this was one of the better rooms. It makes me wish they spent as much time and energy on the rooms as they do their beautiful landscapes.
The Pool. I get it s closed for COVID. I get they would like to renovate it while it s closed. But I am annoyed they failed to ever tell us beforehand they would be doing such loud construction, making a peaceful, quiet lodge in the wilderness absolutely not quiet and peaceful.
All in all, I love Taos and will be coming back as often as I can. I just won t be staying here again
It's quiet and relaxing, will definitely come again.
Just returned from a week at this magnificent hideaway with its extraordinary views of the mountains and reflective setting. It's replete with a meditative labyrinth, sounds of abundant nature, and walking path. Joshua was perhaps the most welcoming, accommodating, and genuinely caring staff member I've encountered... ever! Great space! sacred space! Would return again!
Overall we had a nice stay at the lodge and I would recommend it. The location is really wonderful and the rooms are cozy. For folks that are light sleepers, there seems to be a lot of noise that travels between the rooms which can be a bit of a bother. Also, the quality of the wi-fi was so-so (though, in Taos it's probably best to be off your devices anyway!). Staff was friendly and responsive.
Historic place with great potential. Stayed here during COVID but what a disappointment. Desperately needs some TLC. My window didn t have screens so the mosquitoes were coming in, and the bathroom was poorly designed. Fire place was a nice feature. Breakfast was very good and brought to my room.
Great location for Skiing! Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Cute place, BnB style with hotel accommodations. Man, I loved that breakfast.
My family had an amazing time at the Blue Sky Retreat. The rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and a great way to start the day. The pool was very nice. We had a campfire a couple of nights. The location is off the beaten path and therefore a relaxing place to unwind.
There are tons of things to do in the area; hot Springs, hiking, horseback riding, cool towns to explore.
Albina and Roger were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back again.
This B&B was full of rustic charm, with an gorgeous view of the mountains, and just minutes from Taos plaza. The staff was courteous and accommodations comfy, all of which made Blue Sky an excellent place to unwind and relax. Will visit again.
