Such a cute and cool wine bar! We came in with a small group to meet for drinks in the city. The ambiance of this place was sooo sooo sooooo COOL! I feel in love from the moment we walked in. If you aren't a huge wine lover like me - they do offer a selection of beers.
The service was friendly and found us a table to accommodate us until the reservation for that table came in. What I loved about this place was they had cards designated with names and times for reservations. It was great because I usually hate when you see a reserved sign on a table and no-one pops in to actually sit there.
They definitely make this place run efficiently and I can't wait to come back when I'm back in town!
Wonderful atmosphere, great staff, creative food, and the best wine. We will definitely be visiting again!
Good, but expensive, even by the standards of the neighborhood.
Elegant urban space, impressive selection of wines, good stock of beer on tap. Menu is rich, with particularly good charcuterie and cheese boards. Will definitely return.
This is a great wine bar to hit after work, with large groups, or when you want to run into tons of people from the tech scene. A bit pricey but totally worth it. The deviled eggs with bacon - need I say more? One of my fave places in the city - sophisticated and elegant.
This place is actually so much more than just a wine bar. They actually have great beer and cocktails too
My husband and I keep going back to Press Club because we love the atmosphere! We consistently get great advice from the staff about which wines to pair with the food we choose, and vice versa. I love the selection of cheeses available to snack on when sharing wine with friends.
Always a great way to start the night in this wine lounge...
What a gorgeous place! We walked down the stairs and were wowed by this place's cool vibe. We had an amazing bottle of pinot noir, their yummy beef kabab and charcuterie and were very impressed! We will definitely be back soon!
Good beer and wine by the glass selection. Popular for dates. Nice place with well dressed patrons.
Cool cellar bar, lots of room to move around but can be hard to find a table after work. Cocktails are legit.
Wonderful wine list. Wonderful flatbread (although not cheap). Cheesy fireplace. Love coming here for drinks and light nibbles.
Beautiful ambiance and wines. A great subterranean spot to grab a glass of wine and some snacks! I wish they had some South American wines (malbecs are my favorite) but they specialize in European and Californian wines.
Was a litlle difficult to fine, tried to use my walking map... you have to ask a local, because it's tucked inbetween the ally. Worth the hunt.. Beautiful setup.. great for a group of friends to kick back and chill. THe music is good, might be a touch load but better than most places.
This place is cool!! Really fun ambience -- it's in the basement but doesn't feel too dark or claustrophobic. Great food -- albeit pricey/small portions (it is SF after all). Would definitely come back for drinks. Tons of seating
Wine list is very impressive here (and delicious), and the decor is nice too. Service was a little slow on the busy evening that we went there, but the staff was really nice. Good small bites for making sure you don't get too tipsy on wine too :) the curried pretzel bites in particular.
Quiet and dignified with a dash of cultural nuance here and there. Food is good and the best part is that there is no jarring music or noise to drown your conversation. Lighting is just right and the staff extremely friendly and polite. Smoked salmon snack and a dish with mushroom in it are recommended delicacies...
Cool wine bar!
Fab charcuterie..
Trendy, upscale. Loud music. Flavorful small bites; above average wine selection.
Choose one of the flights of wine The French Thinker is particularly good and pair it with some Bacon Caramel Corn or the Chili & Artichoke dip.
Favorite place to grab drinks with friends after work. Chic, an amazing vast menu of wines; good service. Would highly recommend.
After work I used to love going down to the press club for a great glass of wine and maybe a bite of cheese. It's a professional clientele and doesn't get too crowded, making it good for drinks with co workers or clients.
Prettiest wine bar I have ever been. You should probably book for seating, because it can get pretty crowded on weekends.
Price is quite pricey, but it is expected since it is a pretty nice wine bar. You can pick from hundreds of options of wines to drink from. My favorite wine is sweet wines, and they have great selections for those.
Interior is very intimate and hip, with live music sometimes playing in the background. The service is great. I asked if I could charge my phone while I was there because my phone was running out of battery and they let me charge my phone in the office.
Fun, classy wine bar with a great atmosphere. Decent snacks and pretty good selection of wines.
Kate is the only reason I ever liked that place. She's my woman crush daily. She works hard and deals with some guff pretty often. If I could have anything my way, it'd be having her want me sweep her off her feet. Don't worry, I'm an admiration from afar kid.
Great, relaxed spot. Good for dates or just a casual night out. I get the champagne flight every time. Can t miss.
Aways a great spacious place to visit, with a good wine selection. You can taste before pour which is always great. Downtown tech etc. crowd.
AMAZING speak easy Wine Club. Down in a basement and the atmosphere here was amazing! Very classy place and some great people inside. Only problem was it was very HOT downstairs. If you go here expect to enjoy!
I've been here three times now, and it is a really hit or miss experience depending on what wine you order. My favorite experience here was at the bar; my brother and I both got sparkling wine and shared a charcuterie plate. The bartender was super friendly and everything tasted great.
On all other occasions, I kid you not, I had the grossest wine. Yesterday I ordered a flight (The Europeans) and it was awful. There's a reason why it's only $23 for that flight I guess. Most glasses here range from $15 and up. Really pricey compared to other wine bars.
Word to the wise, just pony up some more for a drink you really like. I had to dump the last glass down my throat and follow up with water and a mint.
My favorite wine bar in the city, hands down. With a gorgeous venue and the selection of wine, this is a must stop for any wine connoisseurs. Great for a group party as well as corporate events, this venue provides a mixture of crowd that will make you come back. A great place to socialize to either start and/or end your evening. This venue can be at times intimiate, but can also be loud depending on the night you go. The staff is extremely knowledgable with their wine and the selection is fabulous. Pours are generous and pricing is fair for what you get to experience. If you are looking for a great time with friends, or looking to meet new people, Press Club is a destination that can please any mission.
Stylish stop for drinks and appetizers. Great for meeting up with groups.
Decent "wine club" located smack dab in the middle of the city. Tends to be pretty loud with DJ sets blaring at all times so I would go elsewhere if you want to have a conversation over wine like at a wine bar. (EDIT: apparently this is not always the case and I just happened to stop by on a day where they had loud music). They also have a few beer selections for non-wine drinkers, but no cocktails of any sort.
Menu on website did not match. Food was ok. Jazz was good
Swanky but not stuffy (unlike most wine bars north of Market).
I ordered a South American red wine flight and recommend any of their flights since they seem to be carefully curated.
Anytime there is a large conference in town (near Moscone), expect this place to be busier than usual but even so, still worth a table downstairs.
I've been there several times for private events. Wine selection is outstanding. The food has always been good.
The food is pretty good. They have a wide menu of different things. The place was packed and the waitress did a great job keeping on top of our order and what we wanted. We sat in the back and the music wasn't too loud but it was in other places. They seem to have a lot of spaces for big parties. We would go again if we were visiting.
Lovely wine bar. The place itself is georgous and the wine selection is very interesting. Maybe just a little too pricey though (there is an happy hour between 5PM and 6PM btw)
Nice setting, ok priced drinks especially on happy hour. Charcuterie board was $17 of very mediocre small portions of meat. Cheese options completely confusing.
