Well, google says this place is open until 10PM. My colleague and I just arrived at 8:30PM and it s closed. Checking the hours on their door, they conveniently list their hours as open - close .... this is the second time this has happened. Going to some classy place on Embarcadero, W hotel bar, 25Lusk, Hakkasan across the street or any other option going forward...

If you like wine and tapas, this is the place for you! Set on Market St, it's great location but also slightly hidden away which is nice. After entering a small room, you go downstairs to an expansive room with couches, bar space, and tabletops to choose from. Everything is pricey - be prepared to shell out over $100 per couple if you are going here for dinner and drinks - may be better to stop by for a small bite/quick drink instead if you are price conscious. Food is good though and wine/beer list is expansive - staff is very willing to help you select something to meet your needs.

Beautiful setting with chilled background music allowing easy conversation with no screaming required; and you can reserve space, offset by surprisingly limited offerings by the glass, food served lukewarm: hovering waiters to take orders and payment but can"t figure out the correct amount of place setting and cutlery though your entire party is present. Happy Hour during week and weekend pure bonus.

Sophisticated and vibrant, great place to grab a robust glass of wine after a long day or trip to Moscone. I visited for the first time after work today with a friend and he mentioned feeling out of place not being in a suit. I say it's silicon valley casual and anything goes but the happy hour crowd is definitely formal.

They have an amazing gadget to open the wine which I cannot now remember the name of. It injects into the cork while shooting some type of gas into it and pours the wine out while aerating it without ever removing the cork. Very cool!

A pretty good wine and beer list, but it was only last night that I realized they have upstairs seating if you want to drink your wine *and* talk to the people you're with, since the music is oppressively loud downstairs. You still have to order at the bar, but after that taking the drinks upstairs isn't a hassle

Nice bar with a great selection of wine. The decor of the place is fantastic and there's also a dj playing tunes on weekends. Beers on tap, wine but the glass, courteous staff and overall a great place. This is on the expensive side though.

I love this space. From the entrance it is deceiving how big the venue truly is. So many great food and wine options. Its the perfect place to host and after work event or just to meet up with friends.

What a magical place to enjoy a hidden bottle of beer or wine. EXCELLENT setting to kick back on couch or at bar with amazing selection for all tastes and (most) budget. Impressed with beer choices.

Set up so comfortably and quaintly despite the large size. Can feel comfortable on date...or crazy bachelor party. Very adaptable layout.

Can't believe it has been here for ten years and never been before. Will not make same mistake.

This place is available for Open Table reservations.

Awesome place.

Very classy place. The lounge is under ground which is awesome and I love the fact that they only serve wine and beer. Their desserts are delicious as well. If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere with great wine, this is the place to be!

I recently moved from NYC and find Press Club to be one of the few spots in SF as classy and upscale as many bars in NYC. Wide range of wines and beers (from $10+) and a selection of bar food as well. A nice respite from dive bars and hole-in-the-walls if you feel like dressing up a little bit.

This is a huge wine bar. It's location lends itself to the after-work meet up for those working downtown as well as a lot of networking events. The size of the venue is great because it holds a lot of people, but it can get quite loud at times and you may suddenly find yourself shouting at your friends. I like the variety of wines they offer and it's nice because you can opt for a wine flight. They also have tasty food options. The portions are small, so it's not a place to meet for dinner - more like bites and wines.

Yerba Buena is one of my favorite areas in SF, and Press Club is such a great fit! It's a classy wine bar with great meat and cheese pairings.

My friend and I came on a Friday night around 7pm, and it was packed! The atmosphere is very date-like, and it is also just a great place to sip on a glass of wine and relax. We both order one of the white wine flights and a meat board. The server was friendly, and ensured we enjoyed all the wines before he gave us a full pour. We were both so stuffed from the generous meat board, we skipped dinner.

This place has great vibes and wines!

Perfect place for groups gatherings and networking events. The entrance is a little secretive as you have to go downstairs to get to the action! Downside, I didn't like their beers and they are pretty pricy. I would recommend it still for it's vibes and cosy atmosphere.

Great wine list in a huge underground bar. Fun beer selection, too, and snacks, so there's something for everyone. Service was spectacular, without being overly encroaching. Highly recommended.

Everyone talks about the great wine selection and this is true but Press Club is also home to one of the tiniest tacos I have ever seen. And it s brilliant! If you look closely you can see the dots of sour cream. So shoutout to the chef for that most likely painful and meticulous preparation. They also tasted amazing and I could have eaten 100 more of them!

Press Club offers a wide variety of wines and provides the feel of visiting different wineries. You can get tastings at counters or order full glasses at the various tables/sitting areas.

They also offer delicious food pairings. Order a cheese plate, charcuterie, or a chocolate dessert! The architecture is gorgeous and the decor is modern and upscale. It's a beautiful venue choice if you are looking to throw a private party.

Very upscale wine bar conveniently located in the center of all the action. There are a ton of wines to choose from - ranging from $40 into the hundreds. Amazing spot for corporate events or birthdays as you can book a rather large area and order by the bottles.

Plenty of space at the bars and frequently there is a DJ who plays here. The interior design is one of the fanciest in all of San Francisco and reminds me of NYC.

Semi-nice place to get ripped off in downtown SF. Some wines served by the glass apparently sit too before finished. Had Caprili Rosso di Montalcino 2014 sangiovese ($18 for 5 oz pour) which is generally is a good one. Pour at Press Club was totally disgusting and waitresses don't care. I guess ones has to just take their chances when they select. The pours are very small as well, especially for the very premium prices they charge. NEVER AGAIN ! ! !

This a great spot for a per or post dinner glass of wine. Really cozy and intimate. If it were in my hood I'd be tempted to give it 4 stars. Go after work on Thursdays and nibble on the forage and salami.

Press Club is my go to meeting spot when I'm looking for a casual spot that's centrally located. You can make reservations up to a week in advance, and there are usually enough nooks to fit the small groups I like to go in. There's wine of all types and many different beers, so there's something for everyone. The small bites are usually pretty good too - a good item to share is the truffle popcorn or the cheese plate.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. I'd say it's the Mercedes of wine establishments. Great wine list, very comfortable seating and happy hour specials that were really special. Half priced bottles of wine $75 and over? Deal!

I would have never known about this awesome spot if I hadn't had a friend ask me to meet her here for drinks.
This is a wine bar, but they do have beer. It's not a giant selection of beer so keep that in mind. If you love wine though...this is your new favorite spot!
The decor is classy and inviting. You can get cozy on some couches with friends or at a high table near the bar. The have three different bars you can sit at and a bunch of little hidden areas to assemble a group of friends. They serve food here and the portion sizes are not small but not huge either. They have wines on tap and a bunch of bottles to choose from. You can buy wine by the glass, half carafe and full carafe as well as the whole bottle.
This is a really nice date spot but be ready to spend some money here. The prices are a little on the high side but if you can get here for happy hour it's a little bit of a price break with $3 off a glass of wine.
My only negative comment for this place is that you don't really get any cell phone service...which to some may be considered a plus!

I really enjoyed my evening at Press Club on a Saturday evening. I came with two other girlfriends and we felt like the space was big comfortable, and classy with sofas and tables all around. It was fairly quiet, albeit a few groups that came in during the evening. We sat for about 2 hours. There was even a DJ who played songs in the background.

We ordered 2 flights of wine and a charcuterie board..all of which was actually incredibly affordable. Between all of us, we were really satisfied. Since, we actually got 7 different wines to try and the charcuterie board was huge (and under $20). There's definitely a lot of wine and drinks on the menu, and some small bites (no real meals though).

I think we all spent around $20ish per person which was amazing for what we got and a good evening filled with conversation.

This is definitely an after work spot to meet up. It's very nicely decorated and full of suits. I came here to get some wine, beer, and watch a game. I wouldn't recommend it for watching a game because they only have one small television. They serve small bites, which are decent. The area is large and most of the people that go here work in FiDi.

After arriving at press club it took us over 45 minutes to get our first round. The food was mediocre and extremely overpriced. When we asked the staff if the portions of food we ordered was a regular amount the server literally rolled her eyes, didn't realize we were so bothersome with our ridiculous "is it really $17 for 3 pieces of cheese" question. The wine was meh, until I ordered a $300 bottle of cab. If you're willing to drop $500 for overpriced drinks/food and don't care about how you're treated then this place will work for you.

I loved the music and the environment and a big place to meet new people. The DJ did play great music to hype up the people. The waiter was so attentive in taking orders. The serving was fast. The bouncers were very attentive watching over, the people who are dancing. The comfort was clean. Overall it was a great experience.

All of the wines are high acid Italian style reds. if that is your style then you are in luck but if you are looking for a good selection of wine with different profiles this is not your place. Also the place is decorated nice but still feels a little check. the sofa are not comfortable and it photographs better than it looks in real life. The staff is amazing though.

This is a great after-work spot for wine if you happen to work in downtown. Although it is a bit pricey, they do have a good selection and the small bites are also scrumptious. The one pitfall may be cell phone reception. They are below ground level, so if you are meeting people it may be difficult to communicate while inside.

Super sheik wine bar. Had the pleasure of visiting this place during Dream Force so it was a closed party. The food and wine selections were very nice even though it was a linited menu. The appetizers never stopped coming. Overall I really liked the style and appointments of the bar. The wine was excellent and we had a great time. I would like to return during regular hours to get broader view into all of the offerings.

I'm in here at least once a week. The vibe is mellow. If you're looking for a scene, this may not be the place for you. Many nights they have private parties in the back rooms, but that never disrupts my experience. It would be nice to have SOME kind of happy hour deals but, again, that doesn't hinder my frequent visits!

Entering "The Press Club" makes you feel as if you may have entered a wine store. But once you take the stairs to the wine bars, you've entered a "comfortable" and "relaxing" atmosphere to sip and socialize. Sundays are particularly nice when they serve "half-priced bottles of win"e and it's much quieter. On "weeknights" the atmosphere is "lively" and many tables are reserved for "meet up groups" or other "special occasion" gatherings. A great socializing spot!
