I visited the facilities at the Marriott for a professional seminar. The conference rooms were very spacious and the food they catered was very good and the personnel was friendly. Overall good experience!

Very nice hotel and facility. Staff was a little incompetent as we waiting around an extra 3 hours specifically to get a room with two queen beds, but they still gave is one with one king. Not a huge deal. But still. Overall a good stay.

Ok so I've a few issues while at this location but the staff have been amazing. Truly. When ever I brought something to their attention ok n it was handled immediately and offered us comps for any inconvenience without us asking for them, I just wanted to make things were right and wasn't looking for any discounts. Bill I believe his name was was an amazing help.

Rooms were almost immaculate(that's was the one issue that arose that they offered a discount on) and very modern. We loved this location and will be staying again.

We are frequent guests at Marriott hotels and this was our worst experience. Despite the hotel being mostly empty, the staff placed other guests in the room next to us. They checked into the room in the middle of the night and proceeded to turn on the TV at full blast at 2am and conversed loudly for the next hour or so. We were not able to sleep that night and when we brought it to the staff's attention the next morning, we were assured the guests were checking out. The next night, at around 1:30 am a family checks into the room next door and once again we're subjected to very loud noise with kids and an adult yelling at each other and jumping around in the room for a long period of time. When we brought this to the staff's attention the following morning, we were directed to speak to the manager, who made excuses about Covid challenges which were senseless given that, if anything, that argued for guests being spaced apart rather than placed next to each other. On top of it all, the a/c was positioned so that it blew air directly at our heads while sleeping and the water pressure in the shower was minimal. It was an overall terrible experience and we would not recommend this Marriott.

The worst Marriot I have ever been at. When you pay for a hotel like this, you expect certain things. But this one failed. It's a hot summer and the AC in the room doesn't work. And they have construction going on in the room directly next to my room. Starting at 7am in the morning. Room was sold without being told of construction prior. Called the front desk and all.they could say was they would cover a $20 parking fee. Its pathetic.

The location is in a business district , which means the location is optimal if you have business meetings close by. Plus it's close enough to other locations near San Diego with less traffic than downtown. The concierge and restaurant is great too.

Came for a business networking event. Didn't see much outside of the large banquet rooms but have no complaints. The breakfast served was pretty good, impressive meeting space, everything was very clean, including the restrooms. Very nice location too, will definitely consider an overnight stay here soon.

Ok! The room itself was great. I did 1 star because overall rating is too high and there are 2 major things that must be mentioned!
1) PARKING is $20 per night! And THERE ARE NO OPTION to park on the street. This is monopolistic robbery. I get it if I need to pay that much in downtown of some city, but in the middle of nowhere this is not fair. This is how this hotel makes up to the lower price.
2) PAID WIFI! Come on! First time ever I see this. If you are not a member of some club and did not book via their website you would not have wifi, and cell service is not great up there.

So consider this when you book.

Great location in case you're on a business trip, rooms have everything you need to have a confortable night, it's a little on the expensive side and pretty much most of the services have an additional cost, but because of this, the quality of such services are above average of what you're used to (like wifi access), so, overall I would recommend it if you need to visit corporate headquarters and what to avoid traffic

Lobby, gym and restaurant are nice. There's happy hour until 7pm. Pool and outside lounge area is also very cool.

What's not so great:

1. Thin walls. I've stayed at a few hotels in this area for work and the walls are the thinnest (or sound travels better in their halls) than the Hampton or Double Tree.

2. This is temporary but there's construction and the floor I was on (3rd) smelled of fresh paint and drywall.

3. Buzz... I couldn't figure out what it was but I heard it all night. Maybe a giant construction fan? Or the next door bathroom fan? Or something from the floor below... Couldn't find the source that kept me up for a long time. I'm a heavy sleeper but this one was tough.

We stopped in to the Marriott Del Mar to grab a cocktail before meeting up with family for dinner. The staff was very attentive and friendly and fun. My husband has a very strict diet so they concocted the perfect drink just for him and it was super tasty. If everyone who works at this hotel is as nice and hospitable as those at the bar, I would definitely stay here!

Jack manning was such a stud. Because of him we will have over 60 guys a month staying here constantly and exclusively. He treated us like kings and was beyond helpful. He went above and beyond what his position is called to do. Will refer all I know to this hotel because of jack!!!!

The staff was incredibly attentive to our needs coming in for our first year wedding anniversary. They gave us a nice present for the occasion, and we had an excellent dinner at Arterra within the hotel the following night. The pool wasn't exceedingly large and you do have to pay for parking, but the hotel is away from the downtown bustle while still being under a half hour to the zoo or marina. Definitely recommend overall.

My stay occurred on a very busy weekend and was very enjoyable. The staff was pleasant and in particular Dante's welcome was exceptional and he was very accommodating. I usually stay at other Marriott properties in the area but look forward to my next stay there soon.

Room was clean and the employees were very kind. BUT, the service that they provided was not so good. I asked them a hot water, and their was a weird things floating. Also, DO NOT expect anything on their breakfast buffet. There were literally FOUR different menus (egg, sausage, bacon, and potato) with bread. You have to pay extra 10-20 dollars to eat anything else.

We had a great experience at San Diego Marriott Del Mar. Our room was beautifully remodeled, comfortable and clean, with lots of outlets and usb charging ports (a nice touch). Bathroom was nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. We had the misfortune to land in the room overlooking the ventilation system (or something) but in a full hotel with a conference going on, someone has to stay there - right? Front desk staff tried to switch us but we chose to keep the king bed instead of move to two queens. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant/bar was delicious. Yes, they have construction going on, but we couldn t hear it from our room, and it didn t really affect us much other than noise by the pool and diverted entrances. Hopefully we will be able to come back someday!

Stopped by Arterra for drinks and appetizers during happy hour. It was a nice atmosphere but ended up getting really busy really quickly. Come early and save space because this place can get popular during happy hour.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. They had a lot of construction going on, which they didn't seem to find important enough to tell us about before we got there. The parking is $20 a day which seems high to me being from Las Vegas you can park many places for free or $10 a day. If you are a hotel guest in Las Vegas most give you free parking. Overall still a great stay, clean room and great staff.

1. Front desk receptionist did not have mask! Seriously?! Unacceptable during pandemic

2. Very very uncomfortable type of pillows you will get

3. Got stuck in their parking twice. Room door key didn t work. They did not answer the internal phone call that I made from the parking. Had to park the car again and go to lobby to fix this!!

When I come to San Diego, for work and fun, I come here. I spend around 100 plus nights a year in hotels. It s a solid location away from the tourist noise you might find visiting LaJolla or the Gaslamp district but still close to both locations if you want to visit. It s very close to Torrey Pines State Preserve (must see) and the beach. The hotel is clean and modern and the staff were kind. It s a great place to get away and relax or focus on work.

Another tip: Coming to San Diego for the first time? Drive East, take a drive through the mountains, parks and deserts and enjoy how peaceful it can be outdoors here!

Renovated rooms. Lobby still getting renovated. Staff friendly and helpful. Really nice showers and bathroom. Bed is slightly soft but not bad if you like firm beds. Pillows could be better. Concierge lounge quite good as usual on the 11th floor. Overall great hotel and staff, will be even better once renovations are complete.

2 nights stay with no AC in the room. Room is plain, small with bad ventilation. Housekeeping doesn't pay attention to details. They can't even set the alarm o'clock to the right time. We stayed in April and the clock had random date and time in July.

During the pandemic they closed the Club lounge but continue to sell higher priced room rate with Club lounge access on the website which is misleading and wrong. You'll find out at check-in and they throw in $10 breakfast voucher which worth nothing at the restaurant as the price is so inflated and taste bad too.

Parking is $22 which is the most expensive one among the other hotels in the same location sharing the same parking structure.

The front desk person doesn't provide customer service but endless arguments. He can't resolve anything for you except pushing it off to the manager. Unless you like to spend your vacation waiting around for the manager's work schedule, save yourself the headache, stay somewhere else.

This is NOT a 4 star hotel. There are plenty of choices in the area, Don't stay here!

Marriott Del Mar is a solidly good hotel. Clean, quiet, safe, and spacious rooms hardwood floors, plush mattresses and bed linens, mounted big screen TV, waterfall shower. Friendly, informative front desk staff and housekeeping. We tipped housekeeping $10 a night and they kept our room sparkling clean. Well lit onsite covered parking (behind
building parking is free). Walkable, well lit neighborhood accomodates guests with dogs. Short jump from One Paseo and Del Mar Highlands lots of nearby restaurants and groceries (Ralphs, Whole Foods, and Sprouts). Marriott makes us smile!

Horrible place, everything wrong with large corporate hotels. We got in exhausted after hours of escaping fires near where we live, and there was a mistake in their system. The receptionist at the front failed to tell us about it when we called in before we came, then made us solve the problem once we arrived. Not a single offer of concession or the slightest bit of warmth, just straight up corporate no I can t help you type of attitude. The building is also basically a concrete block in a parking lot in the ugliest part of Del Mar. Very bad place with bad vibes and zero sense of hospitality. I guess they don t train people in that anymore.

The hotel after renovations is very nice and clean, however the walls are very thin and the room doors slam very hard. You can hear everything from your room. Also I had booked a King Room reservation day before and upon arrival it wasn't available supposedly. I didn't believe the lady working the front desk but was really exhausted and just wanted to get in a room

My Boyfriend and I throughly enjoyed our anniversary trip to San Diego. The hotel was the BEST pick! We were elated that we were able to get into the pool and jacuzzi everyday. We went on walks to the nearby shopping area. And the hotel staff was very courteous. I highly recommend The Marriott Del Mar!!! Our room was beautiful...it was clean...we literally have no regrets!

Pleasantly surprised , very clean , well appointed rooms and a friendly staff made this brief stay very pleasant !
We usually explore for restaurants but decided to have dinner at the Hotels Restaurant, Arterra pardon me if I misspelled the name, my Lamb Shank was near perfect!!!
Great portion ,and beautifully presented !! Did not expect it . I will return when in Del Mar.

Was recently broken into in the valet section and lost about $10000 worth of items and vehicle damage. Told management and all they could say is that the entire parking structure is park at your own risk even though you have to pay and nothing is covered. Manager told me she heard my alarm going off but didn t bother to look even though vehicle was parked right up front for them to see.
