They have so many things to see and I love that they offer student discounts. Make sure to give yourself a few hours to see everything. Also, weddings there are amazing. They give you a few different areas to get ready in and the ceremony is under the multicolored glass walkway. They have a few people stay to make sure you don't destroy stuff and they don't allow alcohol, but that's understandable. Overall, every time I've been there, it's been great.

Ok so over all this is a good place and I went many many many times. So that leads to why it s only 4 stars to me. It seems like they rarely had anything new to see. It s great for a mid size city but for one the size of San Antonio, it should be more. And that s not the fault of the museum, it s just not the kind of town that cares.

Tuesdays are free, and they have awesome exhibits here, the staff is super nice and will guide you if you get lost I spent about 4hours here mesmerized by the fantastic art displays. Gift shop was a tad bit pricey but besides that it was a good time would recommend to SA locals and visitors alike

Very nice and big but Free Tuesday s are very misleading, I m a student taking online classes from out of the city and live in the City and I had to pay and my partner didn t. That definitely bummed me out, they need to put that on their website. Other than that little issue, it was a great experience.

Love going here seeing different cultures art work as well as modern work. Gift shop, little place for a quick snack if you come early in the day. Fourth floor viewing walkway to see downtown. Very nice.

We visited several museums while in San Antonio, and this was by far the best.

This museum is mostly historical art, they have several different collections: China, Greek, Egypt, Roman, Texan, Mayan, American, Religious, and more.

On Sundays, if you arrive before noon, the admission is free.

Also, on Sunday at 11 there was a tour of the museum, this was great!!!

Finally, parking is free.

First it was an awesome building..Any organization that repurposes historical buildings is commendable...broad variety of exhibits...the Aboriginal display was unique as was the Oceanic display of wood carvings. Large collection of Buddahs was very interesting and the Ming dynasty collection of figurines, sculptures and vases was also top notch.. Hats off to the schools that brought classes in to view and learn about the exhibits...

I was trying to read the card inside the sarcofocus case and leaned over the top touching the top of the case. I got reminded not to touch anything buy a guard. Next thing you know this guy is 15 feet behine me for two floors and then I was followed closely on every floor during the entire visit. It felt very creepy. I even confronted the first guard and ask him if he was going to hawk me the entire time I was looking at the displays. I know I was being followed because after the last floor we walked thru he was out in the entry way. I had apologized for my indescretion at the time but was bothered that they felt they needed to hawk me like I intentionally would do anything the that beautiful museum. They ruined my visit.

Just fantastic! Went for a weekend trip with the family during the free time, and there was something for everyone. The scale of the exhibits is belied by the outside of the building, and was a genuine surprise once inside.
While not unique to this particular museum, I never fail to experience the sense of grandness of history after a visit. This alone should get you to visit once in a while. Honestly if I had one regret it's going during the free hour, where I feel I cheated the museum out of well deserved patronage.

It has antiquities to look at and it offers Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm is free. Many interesting things to see if you like history and art. From the Bronze Age to modern art. The amateur and the professional will appreciate the artwork throughout the ages. It was a pleasure looking at all the antiquities that I have only seen in history books or documentaries.

Really a terrific Museum and you will love the outdoor area to where you can sit picnic or order food.
