This Graduate School hypocritically preaches professionalism and that they only pick "the best of the best," but treat their students like they are in middle school and not at all like adults learning medical professions. The faculty seems to have an extreme superiority complex, fosters a disgusting attitude, and breeds pompous students who will be a hindrance to their patients. Do not go to this school if you value a good education.

do not believe the fake positive reviews. this is the worst possible school one can attend. it is awful. awful. awful. they will steal all your money and they do not care about their students at all. they are training doctors to be empathic but they themselves have 0 empathy. all the professors are unqualified and on top of that they are RUDE. You will receive inadequate training (if any) and your mental health will be compromised dealing with these quacks. I WILL HIGHLY ADVISE AGAINST ATTENDING THIS WRETCHED PLACE and attend go to any other school instead. Seriously, any other school. This school is a mess, and highly political in terms of what they allow slide and what they don't. if someone comments "we do not have record of you attending here" why would I let you ruin more of my life than you already have. DO NOT GO HERE AND SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND MONEY. THEY WASTED MINE DO NOT LET THEM WASTE YOURS.
During my undergrad I decided that I wanted to do optometry. After a year and half of applying, interviewing, etc. I decided to go to Salus University because it seemed great during my interview. In retrospect I wish I would have gone with the other school that accepted me. I never knew a school could be so absolutely terrible. The professors do not care about their students, absolutely nothing was organized properly (classes, lectures, labs etc.). They had us in 11 classes at once first year. I finally got to the point where I realized this school gives absolutely no regard to their students whatsoever, so I quit. Before I quit I met with an academic advisor at the school. Even the advisor was on the students side how much of a s**t show the school was. She was trying to contact the professors trying to persuade them that their teaching styles were not effective. Also, almost everyone s grades were C s and D s. Some even F s. And that was normal . While the admissions team is nice, especially when you go to interview, do not be deceived. I am also still friends with people who go there and their lives in school are so utterly unenjoyable and they are miserable (they are currently in 12 classes this semester). This school fosters an unhappy school environment. Overall, if you re looking at these reviews trying to decide to go to this school my advice is AVOID THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COSTS. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Update: I see below that the school commented on this post. All I have to say is: I already met with Dr. Trego before I quit. She was also one of the professors who didn't show up to lectures once because she "forgot." So, no thank you.
All the positive reviews posted for this school are fake and are being given by faculty members. This school targets URM, and profits off of them. Please look into the retention rates and statistics before stepping foot here and giving this school or should I say circus any of your money. you have been warned.
CONSIDER ANOTHER OPTOMETRY SCHOOL. THIS IS THE WORST INSTITUTION. PROFESSORS DO NOT CARE ABOUT FACILITATING POSITIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES. EVEN IF THIS IS THE ONLY SCHOOL YOU GET IN TO, WAIT ANOTHER YEAR AND RE-APPLY. TAKE THIS AS A WARNING.
BAD SCHOOL, THEY SHOULD PAY FOR MY THERAPY FOR THE EMOTIONAL DAMAGE THEY HAVE DONE. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY YOU DON'T WANT TO GO TO THIS WRETCHED SCHOOL. I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS.
Consider another optometry school that doesn't change their curriculum from one year to the next, doesn't increase their already EXPENSIVE tuition as compared to other optometry schools, and is actually looking out for the interest of their students. The most frequently asked question is, "where is our almost $50,000/year tuition money going towards?". With tuition AND $400 lab fees (let's not even talk about thousands in lab equipment fees they give you a week and some times days notice to purchase), they're stingy about allotting lab resources to students. With classes, they've added a summer course without warning to first years without much notice or even consensus. But who doesn't want to spend 8 am - 5 pm in a classroom for months. And the evening spent practicing or finishing up lab. Three hour lectures, four hour labs. At least we got seven days of "summer break", right. All in all, consider a school that cares about their students' well-being and not just their standing compared to other schools. They have a great set of students who want to learn, but if they keep bombarding students with the weight of increasing loans and an unfair course load, you foster an unhappy environment of students who are just trying to get out of this trap and pay off their debt. Not students who are happy to learn or suggest this university to others looking to enter this profession.
I received a wonderful education as I studied for my Doctor of Audiology degree (Au.D.). This school has a supportive environment. I had expert instructors and was challenged and supported throughout the process. I am grateful to this school for broadening and deepening my understanding of my field, making me better at providing care to my patients. As a bonus, this historic campus is also very beautiful.
