Great music, great atmosphere and I've never seen or been part of a church that works so hard to make visitors and/or guests feel so welcome. St. Peter is more than just a church, it is a family!

Never have I walked into a church and felt so welcomed as a newcomer. Pastor Dave and the St. Peter congregation have an awesome way of making you feel right at home. Since visiting that day a few years ago, my family and I have become members and Pastor Dave baptized our son. We're so happy to have found a church home to raise our little guy in, and we know it will be a wonderful and supportive community for our family for many, many years to come.
Saint Peter is such a warm and welcoming congregation. I haven t attended another church that is so committed to helping others. The congregation consistently supports the local community (Village Resource Center and Covenent Cupboard), national response teams (ELCA Synod and their outreach services, and international communities (Selina Lutheran Hospital and Plaster House, Tanzania).
St. Peter Lutheran Church has been my church home for over two decades. It continues to be a source of spiritual enrichment and growth, as I am challenged to grow my faith and to reach out to others beyond the confines of the church building. This is a permission giving community that relishes creativity and energy and deep thought, and is open to different perspectives. It is a thriving community of passionate, compassionate, and loving individuals who lift one another up. This is because people are interested in and care about each other on a deep level. The teachings of Pastor Dave are always spot on, and he manages to craft his sermons such that they speak to all. He is a great teacher. I find myself reflecting on his message throughout the week, as it stays with me and is applicable to my life when outside of church.
The first time we walked in the front door at St. Peter Lutheran Church was a Sunday more than 25 years ago. Valerie and I were looking for a new church then, and it has been a blessing ever since. The people, the pastor, and the events have all be a major part of our lives since, and will be forever I m sure. What a pleasure it is to sit next to people every Sunday who care about what s going on in my life just like I care about what s going on in their lives, good or not so good. Pastor Dave has been a wonderful pastor. His sermons are memorable, to the point, and totally non-political. Kids of all ages are always involved when possible and practical. He oversees the activities of the church with close attention and points people in the right direction when necessary. I can say from experience that he is there when you need him to be. In addition to being on Church Council, teaching High School Sunday School, overseeing the Property Committee and being on numerous committees over the years, we have enjoyed the activities connected with the major holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc.). Again, when you are working with people you care about, it makes a big difference. Some of our friends at St. Peter we have known since we started going there. In fact, some we have known before we started going there. These people aren t just friends, they are family . What a blessing it is to sit next to friends/family every week who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that everyone in the room is praying the same way you are and is there for the same reason you are to develop their relationship with God.
I ve been attending Saint Peter for several years. This is a very welcoming and friendly place. The people I have met over the years are family to me. They lift you up when it is needed and stand beside you to help with every challenge you are facing. They also celebrate the victories with you. All the time I have been at Saint Peter I have also been in the choir, which is also a part of the music ministry. The music ministry also includes a worship band and a handbell choir. This is only one of the ministries at Saint Peter. Come and join us and you will become part of our family too.
What a warm and welcoming church! Our family is so happy to attend StPLC, Pastor Dave has been an important part of our life since we joined and we have met several friends in this small , big-hearted and cozy church.
I've been attending Saint Peter since 2011 with my small children. I love the progressive views of the ELCA and really enjoy this tight-knit community.
I have been lucky enough to call Saint Peter my home since I was a child. My family and I have been welcomed into the church community just as we are. Now that I attend Saint Peter when I am home from college, I still feel like a member of the congregation as I am embraced with love every time I come home. Pastor Dave has been the biggest support and reminds all of the college students they are not forgotten by sending them care packages, devotions, and warm thoughts while we are away. Saint Peter really is like no other community out there, and it is always a place I know I can come home to.
We started attending St. Peter about five years ago. Our family loves the people that make this church our home. We have a special needs teen (HFA/Asperger's) and he has been welcomed with open arms as have our other children. We look forward to worship and fellowship and love the diversity within the congregation. It's home and has been a fantastic place to grow our faith!
We have been going to Saint Peter for a few years and absolutely love it. The people are super friendly and welcoming without being in your face about it. The Sunday morning worship is always meaningful with wonderful music. Pastor Dave does a great job of tying the weekly lessons into what is going on in the world. He provides an opportunity to think about what it means to be people of faith and what God is calling us to do. The Wednesday brown bag Bible Study is a great place to continue the conversation. There are lots of activities for all ages, especially for the kids.
Saint Peter is the inspiring and welcoming community it promises to be in its mission and website. I started worshipping there about 3 years ago and since have joined in up to my ears! Their sharing of the peace is a gift I wait for every week, and I love we celebrate the Eucharist and give freely to all just as Christ did to us. It s a gem in Greenwood Village making an impact beyond its size. Check out the devotional blog too.
