Not bad. Was there on business. Very warm facilities. Seats for hired hall were very uncomfortable. Fantastic breakfast. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Steam room was broken which was disappointing but the sauna was nice.
Absolutely astonishing. This building may look like an old castle to you but this building inside is truly spectacular please consider staying this hotel!
Fantastic location. Nice rooms. Food quite good. Half board basis not made clear enough on checking in (Dined in bar 1st night which apparently is not the norm but weren't aware until checking out. However the kailyard needs to be booked in advance, go figure!). Kailyard much more casual than we expected).
Severely let down by majority of the hotel staff (or their management) most of whom young, inexperienced and lacking interpersonal skills. Clear lack of team cohesion, supervision and training.
Pool fine Sun lunchtime, but very busy Mon. morning with non-resident members (some of whom arrogant & rude) and lane swimming really not well managed at all. Bobbers, waders and chatters 4/5 abreast.
First time staying. Found the staff very friendly and very helpful. Excellent service
Love it here rooms bit dated but always an amazing place to stay food out of this world
Absolutely great. Nice venue, very friendly and attentive staff. Didn't try the pool this time but I'm sure we'll be back.
Nice hotel with superb grounds and spa facilitys food in resturant is great and buffet breakfast is nothing short of awsome
Fantastic lovely soft duvet and pillows
Great food in restaurant excellent service.
Perfect stay with good clean rooms and fantastic food... I can't wait to come back....
Service was extremely professional and made our couple of days there very memorable, I can't praise the the staff enough thanks to all
Big nice rooms with complementary wine and chocolate that gives a good feeling. We took a suite for 2 parents and 2 kids. Children's bed was an opened up sofa with a lousy mattress. Parents accommodation was much better. Take care to reserve a time for dinner in advance on for the day of arrival. Dinner not breathtaking and service time was long. breakfast is OK. Not many options for healthy eaters (not many fruit & vegetable options) but this is the standard in most of scotland. Gym is small but nice. Pool is OK, with dry and wet sauna but no hot tub. Note that pool and gym are in separate building than hotel rooms (not fun when it's raining). Plenty of parking. Wifi gave us trouble but I'm hoping we're an exception. Checkin line was long and we had to wait even though we checked in online.
Nice hotel stayed here for an Xmas night stayed in the lower ground room at rear of building was woken up at 1.30 am by noisy guests a few doors down shouting and banging doors this went on until 4.00am after 3 visits from staff they finally went to bed after lots of complaints from the guest's in the same floor .
Not professional, tiny family rooms and long waits for a self serve breakfast. Staff not very pleasant
Had Xmas night out there. Stayed over and everything was brilliant
Always had a great time staying there. Excellent service in restaurant and room ticks all the boxes. Stunning location. Enjoy?!!
Stayed at this hotel had evening meal it was fabulous and 5he staff are very friendly..
Stunning place. Every little detail has been thought of. I can't comment on the food as I haven't eaten there yet but it smelt amazing. The staff are amazing very helpful and always with a smile. Just a real shame they feel they need to add More
On the whole a very pleasant stay. Just a few little details that went quite right.
Excellent hotel..amazing food and lovely rooms and facilities
Ordered a double room via my works travel company, ended up with a single room, same price, not notified of change until I got to the hotel. Very nice building though.
Don't leave any valuables in your room!!
Got a lovely new Jo Malone perfume for Christmas and in my rush to check out left it in the bathroom. Immediately called to let them know. Left message with housekeeping. No call back. Called again. Eventually told nothing has been "logged". No offer to investigate further. No confirmation that the maid was spoken to. Just "nothing logged in a book".
Really disgusting behaviour and not the first instance of theft from rooms based on other reviews.
Be warned. I wouldn't stay again. Not in a hotel where expensive items just disappear apparently.
Great setting of the hotel, but the food a bit overpriced
A lovely hotel with a picturesque setting. The rooms felt a little dated but were clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly and helpful. The cocktail bar had a disappointingly short menu of cocktails, but was nice. Bathroom in the room was huge, but there were no views from the window (room 303). No issues with temperature in the room. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of options.
Has the wow factor. Enjoyed our stay very much. Great nights sleep, super view from bedroom window, everyone was very friendly
Excellent homely hotel with good facilities and excellent service /staff.
Lovely old fashioned building with contemporary rooms and great views . Good modern food and it was included in cost of stay. Children under five eat free too at any time during the day.
The only downside was our room (229) being just above the external air con intakes which made an awful noise till about midnight.
Had a brilliant overnight stay here. It's a lovely hotel with lots of character and comfort. We thoroughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast and had a relaxing swim but the thing that really stood out about Dunblane Hydro was the wonderful staff! Everyone from the reception, restaurant, leasure pool and cleaning staff were all very welcoming, helpful and friendly! This made our stay extra special. Thanks all!
Overnight guests with dinner and breakfast. At dinner the service was friendly but full of errors and the food was mostly average. In the morning someone knocked on the door just before 10am simply to tell us they will come back later. Back later for what, I've no idea! Room was nice but shower took some fiddling to turn on. Breakfast was very good with an excellent selection of food.
Lovely Saturday night stay. Best rooms are in main part of hotel. Avoid the Srirling wing.
The hotel is beautiful and the staff were largely fantastic. The only issue we had was in the cocktail bar, where the staff were less than attentive, only person at the bar for 10 mins (3 staff too busy behind the bar) before even an acknowledgement! However, as soon as we stepped into the restaurant, the service improved dramatically and the rest of our stay was fantastic. Leisure facilities also great. Would recommend and stay again.
The staff were superb and so attentive. Lovely hotel.
We had a great time celebrating a friend's 70th birthday.
Residing like in the old spa hotel upscale ambience very nice
Hotel is stunning food amazing, only downside for me was pillows far too soft .
Fabulous surroundings with great food. Fantastic music at our Christmas party night
Terrible place no Air Con in the Banquete hall and the room's
We enjoyed our leisure break at the hotel. Will go back again
Hotel in desperate need of upgrade
Worn and stained carpets
Edges of tables chipped
Stains on seats
Staff were great
Come here every year for work; gets better every time.
Castle Hotel, comfortable lawn, beautiful scenery, fine dining
In this hotel you feel in good hands. Cleanliness and service very good. The food is varied and tastes good.
I would recommend it.
Everyone strives to make the guest as comfortable as possible.
Brilliant come and stay here about twice a year. Don't stay for dinner though as they only fit u in up to 5.30 or after 9.30pm. No thanks there's great places to eat in dunblane when adults normally eat x
My husband and myself stayed at the hotel last night..the girl on reception was just so nice very efficient she asked us if it was a special occasion ..it was our anniversary. .she gave us a complimentary upgrade which I thought was lovely..room was fab ..didn't eat evening meal there ..but breakfast in the morn was fab plenty of choice..all in all great place stunning hotel..Will definitely be back
Lovely rooms. Staff extremely efficient and well mannered. Food presentation and quality excellent. Would recommend hotel and will definitely be back
Great venue for our needs, always accommodating for our numbers each year. Staff are very welcoming. Few little niggles that I gave feedback on was acted upon, great to see feedback and lessons learnt are followed up.
Went for an overnight stay with Breakfast. Staff were so lovely and friendly. Decided to go to the restaurant for dinner as it was 25 for 2 courses. Food was great, I got the rump and my partner got the chicken. Both were amazing, is recommend the duck croquette to start also.we also used the pool and sauna which was a great added touch to the weekend. Leisure staff were also great. Only downside was that our room was above the kitchen extractor so when we opened our window there wasnt the best smell coming in so just kept the window shut. However I guess what room you get is the luck of the drawNext day our car ended up breaking down and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Made us coffee and let us use the computer to Google garages etc. Will definitely be back, also looking at this for a venue for our wedding.
Lovely hotel, good size and comfortable rooms, excellent welcome and decent bar at reasonable prices. Unfortunately the spa facilities were not available when I stayed.
Hotel emblazoned, but in an old-fashioned structure. Spacious room, but without air conditioning and minibar.
Over priced and the corridor doors bang...so not like a Premier Inn stay. Would not come back here, despite the friendly staff and beautiful building there are plenty of more 'traditional places' to stay when visiting Scotland at half the price
What a lovely hotel. Always great service and the food is great
Lovely even during a pandemic. The rooms are standard Hilton style which is a wee bit of a shame as the Hydro has such a rich history that isn't reflected in the decor but a lovely hotel. Not sure why it moved down from the full hilton to a doubletree but the cookie on arrival is always welcome.
Another lovely stay here, friendly staff and great food in the restaurant altho I found there was a lack of water at breakfast, covid measures in place for both staff and guests
Great hotel with a great team. They have all the facilities you need and more
The room is in the hotel is rather small but comfortable. I suggest you use Hilton's online checkin to get the best room you can away from the hall traffic and the end of the corridors.
The venue is very good and I used the Spa and swimming facilities. What was a bit disappointing is that on a weekend these facilities close as 8pm but only close at 10 pm in the week. Might be good if they can extend the weekend hours.
Had a dinner, bed and breakfast booking with the hotel. The food in the evening was absolutely fantastic. The menu was created by Nick Nairn and the dinner didn't disappoint.
The breakfast wasn't the best. The choices were rather limited and having stayed the previous day in the MacDonald Houston house with a fantastic range of breakfast, this felt like a let down from the previous night's dinner.
Service in the morning is hectic and at one point I was waiting 5 minutes after asking for a coffee cup.
Totally classy.
Amazing stay at the Double Tree Dunblane Hydro.
Room was huge, very clean, comfortable and the stay was amazing overall.
Great place for a quiet weekend or 2 - 3 days away. Plenty of nice area's to explore In the area. A lot of nice walks too.
What's not to like? Nice rooms, breakfast to set you up for the day, on a fantastic site with a great walk into a lovely wee town.
Terrible experience. Stayed for 2 nights on Business trip. Been to the Bar and restaurant at around 8.25pm-ish. Attended by a barmaid quickly. I ordered mocktail and food. I waited for 25 minutes even for drink. I thought the restaurant might be busy and I was assuming that the bar maid is going to get me the drink along with my dinner. After 25mins or so, I walked to the bar counter and I asked about my drink and food. To my shock the barmaid said that, she completely forgot to order the drink and food and apologized for the mistake and wanted to give drink free of charge.I was starving, since I had a long journey and didn't eat anything by realizing that the hotel serves food too. I clearly told her how upset I am and I was starving (It was already 9.15pm ). Then the food arrived after another 30 minutes and it is so horrible that two pieces of chicken stuffed in between ciabatta with bit of cheese on it. It is tasteless.
The whole experience was awful. I have never seen a hotel, where they charge you so much, but forget to place the food order, which they have taken. I feel sorry for the barmaid, since she has been constantly serving and caught up with other stuff. However, they should have a proper process of placing orders.
Wonderful place. Staff lovely. Beds very comfy. Food great. No complaints whatsoever. Only downside a bit of a walk to the town for elderly.
All staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good, dare I say the best scrabbled egg I have had in a very long time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it is suitable for all ages.
Great for professional functions, buffet was lovely but decor is out dated
Lovely hotel, beautiful position staff are excellent
Poor quality rooms and hit and miss dining experience. A little bit expensive given the above. My opinion is that things could be dramatically improved by consulting a reputable p.r company and restructuring how staff deal with customer complaints.
Friendly staff and great service from the check in to checking out all my needs and wants were met. Thank you for my wonderful stay I will most definitely be back in future.
Fantastic hotel, with bags of old world charm without feeling old fashioned.
Been multiple times for business. Always easy to get to and use.
Yes, yes...stay here but be patient. Remember to relax in Scotland. The hotel is lovely, the staff hard working and food excellent.
Highly recommended, if your just looking for a couple days away
Good hotel and The Kailyard Restaurant is well worth a visit
There was nothing special about this hotel - it certainly feels as though it's best years are behind it
Food was outstanding, hotel lovely but a bit run down, staff excellent
Very comfortable hotel - nice staff but very very disappointed in breakfast - 'hot' buffet was barely lukewarm. The 'grilled' tomatoes were still hard and cold.
Comfortable room, lovely ambiance, food excellent and staff very helpful
