Sail sand point is a great friendly sailing club where you can learn to sail and sail for good prices.
SSP is by far the most affordable and enjoyable boating center. It has many different types of sailboats such as FJs, Lasers, Hobie 16s, etc...
Great community sailing center! No sailing today but the water is still there and refreshing!
You can rent a boat here or inroll your kids into a sailing camp Great camp.
Nice sunset point. Few volunteers organize boat rides during summer full moon time. You can view mount rainier on a clear day. Nice hangout place.
This is an amazing nonprofit offering sailboat, kayak, and SUP rentals, as well as classes. They have really excellent student discounts on summer memberships too! This is a favorite summer destination for me.
I enjoyed the sailing itself, but some of the lessons felt a little unsafe. Maybe it's just me, but it brought me out of my comfort zone in some ways. I got my leg caught around a rope while trying to de-capsize a boat. At this point, the staff seemed a little unhelpful.
I enjoyed so much last summer by attending the sailing classes. The staff there was very friendly and helpful.
SSP is great. The staff have always been friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and the selection of rental dinghies is excellent.
My first real sailing practice was the Hobie Wave Experience, which is a great class. I recommend taking five minutes before you show up to glance over a diagram on the different points of sail so you've got some of the terminology and geometry in your head. It's not required, but if you don't it's a lot of knowledge in a short period of time, and you won't internalize as much.
I picked up the season pass and have been having a blast this summer!
Great intro to sailing program. Fantastic prices for open sail on FJs and Hobie Waves. Life jackets provided
Sail Sand point is an awesome place to visit for those who are interested in sailing. Affordable classes, and affordable boat rentals. It's been a favorite activity this summer.
This is my third year in a row getting a season pass here. It is absolutely wonderful. Great staff and wide variety of craft to use.
Currently close to the public for hourly rentals during the pandemic, but otherwise fun place to sail dinghies from.
The best, most cost-effective, and most convenient place to sail in Seattle! The staff is very friendly, professional, and experienced. The boats are also in great condition and there's a large fleet. Highly recommend!
