This is an amazing nonprofit offering sailboat, kayak, and SUP rentals, as well as classes. They have really excellent student discounts on summer memberships too! This is a favorite summer destination for me.

I enjoyed the sailing itself, but some of the lessons felt a little unsafe. Maybe it's just me, but it brought me out of my comfort zone in some ways. I got my leg caught around a rope while trying to de-capsize a boat. At this point, the staff seemed a little unhelpful.

SSP is great. The staff have always been friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and the selection of rental dinghies is excellent. My first real sailing practice was the Hobie Wave Experience, which is a great class. I recommend taking five minutes before you show up to glance over a diagram on the different points of sail so you've got some of the terminology and geometry in your head. It's not required, but if you don't it's a lot of knowledge in a short period of time, and you won't internalize as much. I picked up the season pass and have been having a blast this summer!

The best, most cost-effective, and most convenient place to sail in Seattle! The staff is very friendly, professional, and experienced. The boats are also in great condition and there's a large fleet. Highly recommend!
