The kids always love visiting here. Its a nice place. Good education about agriculture. We like to go when there is an event going on: crafts, movies, vendor days.
Great put stop with the family. The kids played outside on the awesome playground equipment.(5yr old and 2). Then we went inside and was able to enjoy the scavenger hunt with a activity book....simulated balloon ride, and a cab from a tractor so you can test your farming skilz. Lots of great info all around. Highly recommend
Very good information about the area. Interactive displays kept kids interested and curious. There is also a play place for kids to wear off some energy. Spent 1-2 hours AAA & Military discounts.
Wonderful place to visit, my kids loved it and want to go back! Very educational, we learned a lot about our areas farms. My kids loved the interactive displays, and the really cool play area outside. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop for some Tillamook ice cream!
I visited the Sustainable AGriculture and Environment Center after my recent 50th high school class reunion in Hermiston, Oregon. After graduating in 1965, I worked for four college summers at the Union Pacific Railroad's Hinkle Yard and Ordnance Section just east of Boardman. The Port of Morrow was then just shaping itself around its new shore lands elevation along the Columbia River caused by the brand new John Day Dam reservoir. My SAGE Center visit was very impressed with the level of agricultural reclamation on former government lands and the scientific effort being taken by the Port and its corporate partners in creating a haven of sustainable economic enterprise--to even providing soccer fields and space for a riverfront parkland/marina for sustaining its neighboring West End community. Its growth to having now become the second largest Port in Oregon is truly amazing!
seriously this place is simply incredible. It explains the farming and how important it is this area and shows you how many things work it's so educational and so fun brand new I can't believe they built it here truly a blessing to the really not just to the town but to the entire area
Interesting museum that includes snipets of area history, agriculture, and food production. A simulated balloon ride gives panorama views of the region including the Blue Mountains.
