Wow Safeguard properties..... where do i start. I am going to try to be objective about this and open minded but the fact of the matter is there just isn't very many good things to say about this company. If you work your butt off and Safeguard sends you 1000 late orders you will be responsible for their due dates even if they are that day or the next day on 25-35 orders. If the safeguard system crashes (which is a weekly occurrence) and you cant submit work, no problem you'll be responsible for the order that go late as a result. You are given a "cap" or maximum number of open orders which is set by you and your regional so you never get overloaded on work. BS! they will give you as many over your cap as they feel like. Use of the mobile app is now required for 75% of all your orders. The app takes 3 times as long as traditional submission and crashes OFTEN. You can make "good" money here if you work your butt off. good money is defined as $1,200-$1,500.00 per week working 10-12 hour days and after subtracting 3-4 tanks of gas a week. But always make sure your score card is perfect cause if it dips from any of the above reasons rest assured you WILL be replaced by someone with a higher score than you and you will no longer receive orders. Bottom line is there are lots of good preservation/inspection companies that are out there but Safeguard properties are not one of them. Don't waste your time or your money working for them Check out their competitors and work for them, while safeguard may be good for their clients they are definitely not good for their contractors.
I worked as a subcontractor for this so called multi million dollar company and was getting paid pretty good and then they decided that in 2020 they would use the pandemic as an excuse to lower the pay in my State and then expect us to drive to rural areas that were sometimes an hour or more for sometimes were two or three properties going across mountains some properties were on a mountain and could not make it up even if you owned a four wheel drive
Run.. Please Run!! It is tempting but do not take the bait. I am proof that you will not get paid. I completed 3 workorders and was only paid for 1. With supporting photos and measument, they attempted to justify why we were not paid ( 3 weeks disputing ,4 different people with 4 different answers). Do you all understand just how profitable we are making them by completing these workorders without pay. Keep in mind that we have the power because we have the skill.. Lets finish companies that take advatage of our hard work and material without paying us!!! We are hard workers and should be paid for our time,energy and material.

This is what you can expect from SAFEGUARD... They took a BEAUTIFUL indoor pool room, and DESTROYED IT within a few days of closing on the property.
They painted over Knotty pine, over the fixtures, glass, skylight screens, EVERYTHING.
They couldn't get the hand rails off the pool, so they CUT THEM OFF. After tearing up the cement...
When we contacted them, all they could say is, we did what we had to do.

Worked for these people and was taken advantage of as well as stole from. This company is terrible and should be shut down. I for one will be taking them to court the are a fraudulent business that does not care one bit about the banks they work with or there employees

They pay contractors lousy. And take discounts on pay outs. They expect people to cut grass for 25$- 20% discount and drive over 120 miles round trip. And across bridges and don t reimburse for toll. HAHAHA. They also expect you to have insurance coverage, Good cellphones, equipment like tools, truck and trailers and beat the hell out of them to make money. I work for other preservation companies they pay much better than these guys. Avoid them if you can, once they don t like you they will cut all your volume off or not pay you. Also keep in mind they pay 30-45 days after completion. So your out of pocket the whole time. Oh yes, I forgot to add, after completing a big job your eyes will fall out of your head updating and labeling all your pictures on their system. So much work on the back end it s not worth it. I sincerely hate this company.

I would like to give them a zero, but I can't. After i secured the property, these people broke down a gate, destroyed the exterior garage door (door was locked and secured with plywood). They busted the window, kicked in the door and apparently took the doorknob and locks. They removed the doorknob and lock from the interior garage door and the front door. My son called the police at discovering the "break in" and found Safeguard's notice left on the counter. I have notified the mortgage company of their vandalism. This house does not yet have a foreclosure date. Apparently, they destroy the properties they assess in order to glean more money from their clients. Very disreputable!!!
Horrible company, horrible people... broke into my house once which happened to be the WRONG house and then said they would fix it, and then they did it again!!! Now they are trying to pin it on the contractor... I would recommend no one ever work for them they are crooks and have very unfair business practices!
This company is the WORST- They refuse to pay their contractors. Brian Klag one of their employees is about the most unprofessional person we have ever dealt with. He refuses to return calls, respond to emails, and even hangs up the phone during the conversation. DO NOT WORK FOR THEM UNLESS YOU LIKE TO WORK FOR FREE!!!!
Terrible customer service and communication skills with clients and contractors. Their lack of professionalism, competence and care over the three year period I had to collaborate with them has resulted in thousands of dollars in property damage that continues to grow. The issue I was working with them on still remains unresolved nearly four years after my initial contact with the team.
Bought a foreclosed home they had winterized. Every water line including water heater and toilets has frozen and broke.
The best company I ever worked for. They give great incentives for their employees. Great wages. Great vendors. Great superiors. Thank you Safeguard for all that you do.
Met a Lady named Michelle that works for you guys next door to my house. Watched her and a kid take everything that wasn't nailed down. This job doesn't give you the right to STEAL.
Nothing more than a criminal organization that takes 35% right off the top from every contractors work orders then charges them back for every thing they can to increase their take to over 50% leaving the contractors with all the costs associated with completing the work while they take all the profits.
Then they create fake orders asking for second bids every two weeks to get free photos from contractors so they can get paid for inspections that were completed free of charge.
I would never recommend working for this organization
They do not even deserve 1 star. Unprofessional, rude, withholding payment, I could go on and on...I m waiting on resolution.
Document everything they ever say to you. I wasted 6 years servicing them as a client. They will tell you what ever it takes to get what they want and lie with out hesitation.
Terrible company!! Doesnt care about costumers. Schedules appointments and cancels without advising clients first. Then calls during the scheduled appointment time to advise of the cancellation. Not willing to work with a client. Not willing to compensate a client for THEIR numerous mistakes. HORRIBLE COMPANY, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!!!
I'd give them no stars if I could...at my lowest point they broke into my house and stole over $10,000 worth of property that cannot be replaced because of what it was. They have been telling nothing but lies about everything.
If you have to deal with them just save yourself time and effort and file a property code violation against them. I had a problem with a house next to mine managed buy by safeguard and they kept asking for more pics ect. After a year it still wasn't corrected. Horrible company and terrible customer service.
If i could post with 0 stars i would. Do not make the same mistake as a lot of others have. This company is built on greed and will pillage your wages. I have been charged back from properties i haven't been to in years. I have been charged back for missing pictures, deleted by safeguard, that i was able to provide with correct date, time, and location stamps. This is a very shady company that wants nothing more then for you to sign up, do a bunch of properties, and then steal all of the money they owe you. I did a job, approved for 113k, reviewed it with my rep as well as her boss, completed it within the timeline i was told to have it complete, waited longer then the 30-45 days in witch jobs are supposed to be paid, just to be told safeguard was cutting 60k off of the job because of duplicate line items and incomplete work. We appealed the charge back, met with their QC Nathan (Who agreed with us that we were owed around another 30k), and were only given an extra 7k. This company is a joke. We went above and beyond for this company, doing more work then was on the order to make the house pristine and they still cut our throats in the end. Thank god we didn't take an advance. I dont know how it is in other states but i have friends i told to sign up with safeguard when things were good for me and i highly regret it and i apologize to them on a daily basis because what has happened to me has happened to all of them as well. All of the possitive reviews for them have to be employees at their office or the owners because their is no way anyone could have anything good to say about a company that cares little about you. If you are in PA the rep for PA, Stephanie is rude and is not willing to help with any of the problems you present and the QC, Nathan will make up reasons to send your jobs back. Again, heed my warning and DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE SO MANY OTHERS HAVE! I dont know how employees and owners of safeguard sleep at night knowing how many families they screw over on a daily basis.

A bunch of crooks and thieves and they know what they are doing is illegal. I am so glad to see that my REO managers no longer use safeguard. They would overcharge and never perform the work they said they would.
Contractor review. App crashes, website crashes. Hard to get call backs. First season took on lawns at $38.00 each and was supposed to get $50 this season, said due to covid19 they cant. What? The bank isnt cutting your pay! Then they send me my list and its for a fraction of the properties in my zone, one property 30 miles into the next zone, and none of the places in my own town.
Then theres this little tidbit. If you invoice them and they want to pay you less, they will just pay you less. And since you CANT use your own quickbooks or other accounting software to bill them as you would every other customer theres almost no way to efficiently check that they are paying you full. They used to email you when they would pay you less ie, you bill for 20 over due to tall grass and they say no. You only get so long to dispute these claims but if you dont know youve been shorted til you get your checks its kind of hard. If I do 15 to 20 safeguard orders per day I dont have time to process all these orders on my computer plus check that these clowns are paying us proper.
Debris.
Other contractors often leave lots of debris in yard or remove debris from house and throw it under deck or in hedge row. Hand rails are single nails in flimsy boards that fall off while shoveling walkways.
One redeeming quality is they pay every week for orders that are over 10 days old so thats cool. Im very disappointed that we busted our transmission and ztr mower last fall running all over the state for these guys to screw us on pay rate and volume this year.

Banks. Hire lawn care companies and contractors directly and pay going rate.
If you are a bank you should think twice about using this company to manage your properties. They ask for pics from the people who are making complaints about the properties they are managing then charge the banks for inspections.
I work for them as a vendor. Great company to work for.
