It's a catholic church with its doors open for anyone

Fr. Michael Scilly, SJ was our dedicated and hard working priest. He worked side by side with his volunteers during the Food Pantry monthly food distribution as well as during many of the parish activities. You'll find plenty of friendly warm hearted people in this parish. The parish is surrounded by beautiful fields of tropical flowers, fruits and trees. Victor, our lawn landscaper, keeps the surrounding lawns trimmed and neat.

Very good church. Love to feel that love and caring of our dear lord we all share together. Very best church close to all the neighbors in puna side we dont have to drive to hilo to go church there. We appreciate that they also let us participate in church like singing and do some activities for our church. This church close to all of us family in puna side. They are friendly

Just beautiful place standing out in the middle of a big lot surrounded with green vegetation.

Went to Epiphany Mass on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. Excellent atmosphere and congregation. Very welcoming. Priest was great. Church itself is lovely; hard to beat this location and its aesthetics. Just great.

Thank you, Sacred Heart parish assembly, for celebrating the extraordinary rite even though it were only for a few Saturdays. I pray to God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ that the extraordinary rite return.

I was shocked to see a party of high school kids in the parking lot during the pandemic 90% with no mask. I called the church and the man who answered the phone said they just showed up, and he wouldn t do anything ,I called the police, they refused to enforce the law unless someone from the church called, I called the church back to go out and at least ask the large number of people people in the parking lot to put on masks , or call the police,the woman who answered the phone said she worked for the police, she said even if they came they would ask if the church had asked them to leave, and that they didn t feel like doing that, and they are leaving soon anyway, I hope and pray for the sake of our community our elders and disabled, that some Pahoa high school kid didn t come in contact with a Main lander or that family in Hilo that recently got the virus, I pray for our community, I pray for our doctors and nurses, and I am saddened that all the sacrifices we have All made in the last months might have been wasted. It s regrettable that the police wouldn t act , and that the woman who answered the second call who worked for the police wouldn t act. I think it s a good time to ask what Jesus would have done.

Historical burial site. Most notable was a child barely born long enough to live.

Hes buried very close to the church. Peaceful area to visit

We were here while travelling over Easter. Great mass and beautiful church.
