I've visited this temple when I was studying in school . It had great experience and rated as one of the most visited places in Bangalore.
But it has changed a lot during mine recent visit , only the entrance is free and rest you have pay fee . This is not at all a kannadigas culture. I think this is managed by some north Indians.
And whole lot of business inside the temple selling books , CD's ,snacks inside a temple. Its really losing its authenticity. I never thought of such a business oriented temple in Karnataka.
1 star is not for the temple . Its for the management for changing temple.
Hope some rules applies to it and it becomes the way as it was earlier. With in a 1 Km radius Chokkanathaswamy temple is located . I was suggest everyone to visit.

This is my favourite place to get myself sukoon. Whenever I feel low this is the only place where I feel that I am connected to God. The peace is unbelievable when I see this beautiful lord Shiva.

The temple is very good. But the management is worst. They are trying to make money. Even though there was not much rush inside the temple they were holding the normal darshan line for hour and half so that people prefer special darshan which will fetch them Rs. 250 per head.
Moreover for normal darshan also they are charging 150 per head.
Thus my advice will be if you really want to see the temple pay Rs. 250 and go for special darshan, as cost of 1hr is more than Rs.100.

Beware if you are visiting this temple.. although made beautiful but highly commercialized.. there are three kinds of entry 250, 150, 50, and free entry...i would suggest take free entry , staff present there will force you to take 150 tkt and they will not tell you about 50 and free entry..at every point staff is sitting to lure you with tickets, in free entry you will have darshan of lord Shiva and Ganesha. in 50 you can see replica of 12 shivalings inside a cave type structure and few more religious places small replica in another cave which is not worth paying 50.. 150, 250 are for doing puja by Pandit ji and guiding through the temple...i have seen making fool of foreigners, the temple is attractive because of huge status of lord Shiva which is worth..so be careful, have faith in God..charging money for entry is even acceptable to certain extent as they are maintaining it but misguiding people for taking higher amount ticket is not acceptable for religious purpose..

The entrance is great. The depiction of all the jyothirlinga's, the cave and the collosus of Lord Shiva is simply awesome. It's more of a museum than a temple(Temples dont have entree fee). The only bad thing about this place was the songs playing in the sitting area. The lyrics seemed to be written by a kindergartner. It was so awful, you could literally feel your ears bleeding. So if you've noise cancellation headphone or if you dont understand hindi, it's a good place to visit.

It was a good experience for me here. Initially it was like a film set grandeur. Once inside it is awe inspiring. If you cannot spend just do not accept special services. Just understand your money helps maintain this great effort.

Why they are charging high price for visiting God is surprising. When I visited this place long back entry fee was decent but we need to pay different charges for video cam and still cam. First of all there is no parking we need to pay parking fee along with entry and other fees. God will save people. Thanks.

Its a very nice place to be visited in Bangalore...... this place isn't very much crowded as in other temples.... the entry fees is 50 and 150 rs.... and for Pooja extra costs apply.... but very cool and calm atmospheric place that should be visited by everyone....

Well maintained, but hyper-commercialized and tourist-y. Don't ever, ever come here to pray. Lord Shiva is better off staying in your homes. Avoid this place like the plague during the Shivratri rush.
However, you'll feel a bit lighter when you leave this place for good. A few hundred rupee notes may have vanished from your pocket in the name of darshans.
What a joke! It amazes me to this day how people can really pray here. I would strongly advise them to go to age-old temples and establish a connect to God, unless they've come to a tourist attraction to take selfies.

Very nice place. The place is little commercialized over the years, but has a very calm and pious atmosphere. The caves and the structures are beautifully made. Located at the busy area on Old Airport Road behind the Total Mall (Kemp Fort).
There is a entry fee of Rs.150/- to the caves. If you like to visit only the shiva statue without visiting cave then the entry is free.

A very nice organised temple of God Shiva, through a proper system each and every Goddess placed there can be optimistically worshipped by us, there is lot of statue of Shiva representing most popular Shiva temples in All over India
Then a big statue of Ganesha and Shiva attract every one
No religious boundaries to worship the God,
Foreigners even come to worship and celebrate the love for God
Good surrounding and infrastructure
Little decorative shops are there,
Near a big mall is there name Kemp fort mall.
That's all
