Went there for a Jazz Concert. The concert hall is in an old mansion and is just beautiful. Intimate setting and nice for Jazz. They are updating the rest rooms so that will be much better. Beautiful setting in Allamuchy. Easy on/off from 80. Parking on site.

If you're into Victorian architecture, this is a pretty cool building. You can walk around the grounds and there is a nice lake behind. A lot of people come here to take wedding pictures. And there's a nice nature hike trail that you can take that goes around the lake.

Rutherfurd Hall is an amazing cultural center with an amazing historical story.

This tutor-style house was designed by Whitney Warren, who later won the bid to design Grand Central Terminal. The landscape of the grounds were also designed by the Olmsted Brothers who became famous for designing/landscaping many of today's national parks.

The Rutherfurd family lived here as early as the mid-eighteenth century, and over their families time here hosted many famous titans of industry and even future American presidents. There's a really fun/interesting story about FDR and Alice Morton. Later, Rutherfurd Hall was donated to the church and used as a type of retirement home for the nuns.

Rutherfurd Hall is now owned by the Allamuchy School District who does a great job utilizing it to maintain this beautiful structure. If you go on a Wednesday, you'll be able to receive a tour through the beautiful home. Their tour guides are absolutely fantastic and know so much of the history so thoroughly it is really impressive.

Rutherfurd Hall does weddings on it's own, but a local venue David's Country Inn also holds wedding ceremonies on the grounds. I'll be having my ceremony at Rutherfurd Hall and could not be more excited!

An informative and entertaining talk about FDR and his association with Rutherfurd Hall and the people who lived there in the historical framework of his life and work presented outside on the magnificent grounds....way large enough for social distancing. A wonderful evening.

So I went here with my wife for a friend s wedding. The first thing we see as we are pulling up is an old man sun bathing on the corner of the property. Everyone was mortified. This was the topic of conversation for the rest of the evening. I don t blame the creepy old man with Lieutenant Dangle shorts, I blame the venue for not posting there was an event that day, or not having anyone on site to make sure there were no stragglers. When I removed the old man from the property, he had some choice words, which could have been avoided, had the venue been more thorough or had any sort of process. I hope nobody else has to spend money to book this mansion, to have creepers ruin it.

I am a deathly spectre that haunts these halls. Please visit and learn about the influential Rutherfurd family and their ties to FDR. Or enjoy our lush grounds with a stroll by the water (the limits of my phantasmal reach). My favorite is when school, scout or other youth groups use our facilities for activities as I am reminded of my youth lost to me nare a century ago. Hope to see you soon.
