The wait wasn't to long but I didn't like my doctor at all. They don't do certain things like other hospital's do witch is werid. My test could be a fails positive so that doesnt help my nerves at all. I won't be coming back for sure.

Took my husband there twice Sept &Oct 2016, he had two issues which appeared to be unrelated, concerning the more serious of the issues they were very attentive and caring...but wished they had ran more test as they seem to concentrate on the more serious issue of the two and never addressed the lessor issue other than to refer him to an outside doctor for followup care, which by the way was not taking new patients, and their associate doctors were booked until months out (2017)... other then my disappointment concerning the lessor issue everyone was very curteous and attentive ...very little waiting time.
Staff here do not care. Lost my job because no one in medical records would return a call when I was out of state. Thank you guy for helping me loss my job and not returning calls
3 hours of waiting we had to leave... staff was sitting on their phones no one cared about anything. Smelled liked people were smoking in the room, gross, I can t stand garbage on the floor, I almost picked some of it up but was so upset and just left! Never going back! Going to a REAL hospital next time! You should be ashamed
Mother in law had severe mental issues after her husband's health declined/ hospice called in. Hallucinating, severe confusion, etc. Had to do an involuntary commitment. After 3 weeks, and only worsening symptoms, this hospital called one day announcing they were going to release her the next day if we didn't get her another location. Literally gave us 24 hours notice. Turns out Medicare was running out the next day, so they were just going to allow an elderly dementia patient walk out the door. Staff very rude once the money ran out and didn't seem to care about the danger of throwing her out on the street. Avoid this place at all costs as they put profits before people.
I must say this is the best hospital I have ever been to in my life. We have a sick daughter and they got us right in. RN Anna-Lena was great took great care of my daughter. I've been to many hospitals and I have never had the service like I have had here. Thank you all for your excellent service and Dr. Holliday was great!
Brought my husband here yesterday because he had chest pains and numbness all along the left side of his body from his face down to his leg. They asked him to sit down in the waiting room without examining him. He sat there for an hour and a half without receiving ANY medical attention. We both got fed up and left. We drove to Atrium Hospital in Shelby. Turns out he had a mini stroke. Thank God my husband didn't die. I will never go back to Rutherford hospital ever again! They do not prioritize life threatening conditions.
Why would you reserve ALL of the parking outside an emergency room for doctors and cops. 10 Spaces and you can't park in any? So I am supposed to leave my 10yo daughter in your meth head infested ER to go find a parking spot. Nope. Guess you can call me Dr. Dill. I can see now why my wife insisted on going to Shelby to birth our son. This place is a trash dump. Never bringing my fully insured family back here.
My mom has been to thos hospital 5 times for kidney failure and kidney stones. Took them 6 months to do anything for her. Promised her that the social worker would set up home health care for her before she went home. Was discharged 15 mins ago and guess what? No home health. Follow up with her family doctor ain't until November 5th. Was promised pain would be took care of and nothing This hospital only thinks that everyone is a pill head and says forget anything else.
Took my son in on a Sunday night because I was almost positive that he had swallowed a small piece from one of his toys. We didn t wait long, were taken back quickly. Emma, the PA, saw us and was very polite and worked quickly to get my son into radiology. We did wait in the back for a bit, but that s to be expected in an ER, and the nurses were handling another situation. Our nurse was very apologetic for our wait, but I was very impressed with the service we received.
I took my son in after a weird collection of symptoms over 2 weeks time and several doctors appointments that got us nowhere. After arriving at Rutherford Regional we were confronted by the doctor who had already started running tests on my son before we even got to the room and Dr. Quercia really started digging to find out what was going on with myu son's symptoms and when 1 set of tests came back normal, he ordered more tests. I feel that this doctor was very thorough and I was pleased with the level of care and concern he had for my son.
Waited while our 10 year old child was sick and watched not one but two waiting rooms full of ppl got seen o they moved us to the hallway to wait SMH....
Went to this dump, should have went to the dominoes down the road, it was ok at first, then here came a rude doctor, did multiple blood work on me it made a huge bruise on my arm, went up stairs they put me into a room with a 2 and half inch pad as a bed, stayed here for 10 days, had to go through a strip search along with everyone else on the floor, terrible doctor I recommend Shelby or Asheville I should have just went to the neighbors.
Cant complain about their service but a 45 min trip to the ER got me $2k worth of bills. I just dont understand how you could ever get out of debt if you had to stay.
sitting here with my grandma...can t find one nurse to bring her a cup of water!!! How ridiculous This is the worst hospital I could possibly imagine!!
I've never felt like doctors really care until saturday when I went to the er. The NP saw me and did everything in her power to make sure I got the care I needed. She came in my room often and explained everything that was going on in detail. I was kept comfortable for approximately 6 hours before she transferred me to Mission. I cant thank her enough for all she did.
Unprofessional ER. There are not call bells in the rooms. My daughter was in room 14. After not having a call bell, she walked out to the desk and asked for a blanket. The nurse said OK, but did not bring her one. I called the ER and requested them to bring her a blanket. They said they would. They did not. She went to her car and got a coat came in and waited in the room for a swab test for flu. They erased her name off their board and told her she would have to sign in again if she wanted to be seen. I heard a PA Derrick get nasty with her while we were on the phone. I am not only writing this review, I am contacting the State because of the safety issue of no call bell and also am contacting any other agency that will listen, including Joint Commission and the Medical Board over mistreatment and the PAs unprofessional misconduct. My daughter is in route to another hospital. I hope a delay in treatment hasn't caused her a problem.
Went for a preventative care procedure that I had performed at another hospital the previous year. Received a bill for a covered claim in addition to what insurance paid last year was free. Understanding the Covid19 problem I arrived to the parking lot 30 min prior to procedure awaiting my call. Never happened, had to call the hospital track down the department and tell them I was there. My neighbor went in for a bone spur removal, ended up with an infection. Antibiotics given him placed him in renal failure, now on dialysis.
Emergency room waiting time = ridiculous. You may not get to see a doctor, you may only get a nurse practitioner. This ER is understaffed. Not enough nurses or doctors. There are good people that work there unfortunately it's the bad ones that you may be trusting your life to.
If I could I would leave a zero rating. Twice now this outpatient surgery center has said that potassium level was to low. I have extreme low back issues and need to have Sjoint fusion surgery to help correct the problem. My surgeon can only perform this particular surgery at this hospital. For my 1st fusion on August 21st they said my potassium level was a 2.7 it's supposed to be between a 3.5 to 4.5. My surgeon ask for an EKG which the results came back perfect. The female Anesthesiologist was unpleasant to say the least and was extremely unhappy with my surgeon's decision to proceed with my surgery and she made this loudly and quite clear to me and everyone around me. Even her assistant that was preforming my anesthesia during surgery was extremely unprofessional and was brerating the entire way to the OR. And now I have to put my life in her hands. Yeah that did not fill me with confidence at all. So now this past Friday, November 20th, I was supposed to have my other side done. All's is going ok I guess up to this point, even though I explained it was difficult to find my veins and I always had a great vein on the backside of my right arm. No they wanted to try other veins they "thought would work" so I was stuck 4 times before the pre-op nurse told them she would establish my IV upstairs. She placed a warm blanket over the area I showed her and what do you know she got it first try. Right where I said it was. So while waiting in pre-op I overheard the nurses talking about 2 patients who would not be getting their operations today. 1st was a gentleman that would have to stay in the hospital over the weekend and they would try again next week and how disappointed he was. The 2nd conversation they were talking about concerned a woman who's HCG levels were high. I know what that means, she was pregnant. I learned she was pregnant before she did. I actually loved the nurses in pre-op. They were extremely nice to me. The Anesthesiologist comes over to me and said my potassium was a 2.4 extremely low, his words it had to be over a 3 and I was not having surgery today and to go home. This hospital is over an hour from where I live. No disappoint here full rage. From what I have read a 2.4 potassium level is a critical emergency and help should be sought immediately. So I drove home and tried to find another place I could get my levels checked that day as soon as possible. I didn't drink or eat anything to keep the conditions the same as they were for the 1st test. Went to my local ER. They asked if I was having any of the numerous side effects from low potassium. I wasn't at all. They drew my blood at 11:55am, I think the first blood drawn was around 8am. My potassium level was a 3.2, yes a little low but a far cry from a 2.4. Also after my last surgery I went to my family doctor just to see if my low potassium was a problem. That was in September it was a 3.4 then. So either they have a problem with their machines or it's the way they r drawing my blood. I have heard that if they do it incorrectly a blood cot can form and make your potassium levels come out low. So the next time I can get this surgery rescheduled is December 18th, yes unfortunately I still have to go back to this hospital and my insurance approval is only good till the end of December. So another month of agonizing pain for nothing. I was also told by the PT people, who I had to call and tell them I didn't have the surgery that 6 other people didn't have their surgery on Friday as well. There is something extremely broken at this hospital. I would suggest to anyone who can to seek services ELSEWHERE.
Went to the emergency room with an infection on my lower leg. The doctor was horrible did not ask any questions and acted like it was a waste of her time to treat me. And then wrote me prescription for some medicine that would be harmful for me to take with my high blood pressure. They didn't tell me about my meds they basically just don't care about there patients.
They let me sit in the er waiting room for nearly 2 hour while I was having a heart attack because the admitting nurse thought I was having an anxiety attack and therefore wasn t a priority
We have been sitting in the waiting area for almost two hours my child is in pain hurts when she moves and the lady at the window says it's up to the nurse who gets called back first. This is ridiculous how long should a child wait and be in pain before the nurse sees fit to take them back.
My fiance is currently in the er and she is in extreme pain and there was a needle in her bed i had to put it in the sharps box. They didnt help her pain at all. She will leave the same way we came here and thats in pain. This hopsital is the worst dont even bring ur sick animal here
I applied for several positions and was interviewed 3 weeks ago. No one called me to tell yes or no for the position. I have been in the medical field 36 years. I always had the office manager call to tell me whether I was hired or not. I am very disappointed in in this hospital system.
I have been to the hospital many times for various tests, have been to the ER about 5 timesand admitted once for a heart problem in ICU for 3 days. They are always very professional and competent.
Had surgery there back in January 2017 and was treated with the utmost respect and was treated with a smile while I was completely drugged up from the anesthesia , pain, nausea and anxiety meds. The month before that I was in the ER for 5 hours and they did the best they could with all the people coming along with ambulances coming in. They were busy that day and was treated good.
Not good at all the worst medical group ever and do not get me started on the nurses no one cares and no one isn t polite or caring no more this is the worst hospital I ever been to in my life
I will keep this short and to the point! DON'T GO HERE!! Take the time and go to McDowell Hospital, you will be glad you did. Very unprofessional, no sense of urgency even for those patients that arrive by ambulance! They certainly do not abide by the professional standards I have witness in other hospitals. I can't figure out how they remain open. I think their CEO should figure out how to improve this hospital for those who are not able to go somewhere else. Truly a disgrace to call yourself a hospital!
My Mother (retired teacher) received a letter from RH - they are not accepting what United Healthcare Plus is paying... and suggested we switch to BCBS's 70/30 plan... really?? with her current plan... if the test cost $1000 she gets a bill for $10 from St Luke's and you want her to switch to a plan that would charge $300... LOL that is laughable... How about she just switch her few Drs in Rtftn to Hendersonville...
In years past I have had several surgeries at Rutherford Hospital with no major complaints and today 12/16/19 it was like being there via my oldest son that had a planned hernia repair that took a little while to complete and turned out to be more serious than expected.A new very young doctor did the procedure and used mesh due to the size of hernia that was somewhat attached to intestines.Put him in recovery for a short time and sent my son home in pain,no overnight observation just pain pills and a word of caution for him for next 2 months?? He is over 50 and well educated but apparently the young doctor is lacking in knowledge. This should have never been an out patient procedure, much too serious of an operation .I am not a happy dad as the WHOA'S of our local Mansion on the Hill is rapidly sliding down hill. This day in our lives was uncalled for in my 73 year old mind.Seek a real hospitall if you have a problem.
They were so helpful. Would like to especially than RN Samantha Bean and MD Mary Duran. Answered all my questions diagnosed my problem and I left feeling much better. Highly recommend.
I was transported to this hospital by ambulance following a seizure at a restaurant in the town of Lake Lure where I was with a small tour group. As I was regaining full consciousness I after arrival I felt comforted and reassured that I was in competent hands of the physicians, technicians, nurses and other staff. They did everything possible to make me comfortable and that I clearly understood what had happened and the procedures they d be doing for me. I was admitted overnight for observation and additional tests the following day and was discharged late that day. Overall, I was highly impressed with the medical and support staff and the physical facility. As far as I can tell, they did everything right for me.
I'm not completely satisfied with the diagnosis of your emergency department because I have had this same issue for 6 months now and I have been told that I have an ear infection every time I ended up in the hospital emergency room there. I have a 2nd opinion on this now thanks but I won't be too comfortable returning there
The nurse staff was okay but the woman doctor was flat out careless.. I went to the ER thinking I had a miscarriage, I had a blood test done and peed in a cup, 4 hours later I never got an exam that I thought I was getting to find out that everything came back negative..which is great except for the woman doctor never once took the time to even ask me about any other ovaries/cervical issues that I already told her I have..she just literally told me I was having bad PMS and I was dehydrated (true).. she didn't take the time to ask if I had ever had cysts(which I do) and never even asked me if I was in pain (quite a bit). They were more worried about getting my pee than the fact I was almost bleeding to death vaginally & in tears from the pain. Also the only "exam" she performed was on my stomach...after telling her that I have cervical cancer & that I was having a ton of pain and pressure in that area.
My son had his appendix removed back in May. Although getting through all the procedures in the ER took a little while everyone there was really attentive, kind and informative. Once surgery was finished and he was placed in his room on second floor, everyone there was wonderful. Very friendly, stayed on top of things, kept check ups on him. I was so grateful for a good experience. Thank you All on second floor!!
I took my husband there because he fell & split his head open. It needed stitches. There was no doctor that looked at his head, they never cleaned up the wound, there was a small piece of bone that brock off & they never removed it or stitched it up. All they did was put some suave on it & a piece of gauze on it. They sent him home without even any discharge papers. He still has a raised bump there because of the bone piece. What kind of hospital it that? A bandaid station & that's what this hospital is nothing more than a bandaid station. I will put my husband in the car and take him to Parkridge before I let Rutherford Regional touch him again!
This hospital is the worse hospital ever !!! They killed my father just a few days ago !!! He went in with a simple UTI they pumped his body full of fluid and got fluid in his lungs which he only had 1 lung and 1/2 to begin with They let him die and refused to have my father transferred to a different hospital after I requested he be moved 4 times !!!! My father fought for his life for 14 days they did nothing but hook him up to so much oxygen that it started eating in his nose and mouth and chin !!! He went in with a simple UTI and after they were done with him they collapsed both his lungs and had starved him to death!!! When they finally told me my father wasn't gonna make it the doctor looked me straight in my eyes and said your father was gonna die before you anyways that's just the way it is !!! Than told me your father is a Hospice patient now !!! I had my father moved to Hospice and he passed away 4 hours later I had to watch my father die because of their mistake !!!! The whole 14 days not one nurse doctor no one ask me if I needed anything not even a box of tissues !!!! This Hospital murders people and gets away with it !!!! I am still so traumatized from the whole situation I had my father's funeral 2 days ago They took something so precious to me This hospital really needs to be shut down they are hiring doctors that don't have a clue what their doing !!!! I will always hold this hospital responsible for my father's death !!! I recommend Shelby Hospital over this slaughter house!!! Trust me go to Shelby or Spartanburg they have better doctors and you will have a better chance at surviving !!!!
Typically do not leave bad responses but this has to be the Worst experience in the world, took a family member for a possible broken done and depression with the attempt to harm themself, the depression was completely ignored as if it was not even brought up after waiting 4 hrs on a not busy Morning I finally got so frustrated we had to leave and go elsewhere, The NP s have no compassion or care for any patient and just want to sit at the nurses station on their phones. This place will never change regardless of how many times they are bought out.
Long wait time and never received a bill. Received phone calls from debt collection company instead. Insurance information was ignored. Billing department was impossible to reach. It took almost a year to resolve.
Have been trying for weeks to contact billing about my bill. Not only do they not know how to file insurance claims, but they do not know how to answer a phone or call anyone back.
I'm in immense pain with a ruptured disc causing a pinched nerve. I went to the ER and saw Dr Corbett. He ASSUMED I was just looking for pain meds as an addict and refused to treat me. He didn't even examine me! I have news for you not everybody is an addict! I have legitimate immense pain and he failed as a doctor!
They killed my father he complained they did not take care of him. They would not change my father he had sores on his body. They feed him non diabetic foods. If you asked to speak with a doctor nobody would call. They refused to transfer him to another hospital. They sent my father to hospice and murdered him. Nobody gave him food or drink in hospital. He has dementia and elderly unable to feed himself. God will have his vengeance on them.
I have horror stories of big mistakes that could had killed my child. We stop working to keep our kid alive. They tried to kick us out the hospital early because their staff makes so many mistakes that I notice. Physical therapy pulled her central line out, overdose her on dilantin, lipids, ordered MRI when she has a metal clip in her head, list goes on. She was discharge crying from pain. Kids 22 yrs old. Been on seizure meds. None was prescribed to her when they kicked her out the hospital.
Update: my daughter had a surgery above for abd. Obstruction. Guest what she needs to have again now. Abd. Surgery again because the 1st doctor missed the obstruction thats higher. Medicaids going to love to know why its deja vue again for this child. New hospital said this is old. Not new. Rutherfordton regional should be shut down.
I went there by ambulance after a car accident. Everyone in the ER was great I had to have emergency surgery. Once in ICU it was ok. When I was moved to a regular room that's where the trouble was the nurses were great but overworked and did not have the equipment to do their job to the best of their ability. CNA I had on who said I could move my left leg. Couldn't.vshe grab me by the arm and tdrsg me into the chair. Later we found out I had broken my pelvis in two places. It seemed that they hired bottom of the barrel. It was what they wanted and not what I could do. I knew better than let them take me to Rutherford. Couldn't wait to get home do I could heal and have the help I needed.
Went there because my daughter fell and hurt her elbow! The ED was full and she had to be examined in the triage room by the dr. We were given her xray results in the hallway. During an obviously busy night, everyone was super nice and we were in and out very quickly. Dr Odell was awesome. He even went into the waiting room and called patients back hisself. He was friendly with the nurses and other staff. Was very pleased with the care my daughter received!
Worst hospital I have ever visited-have been there myself and taken family multiple times. Save yourself the trouble (and maybe literally yourself) by making the drive to Shelby or Asheville
I moved here about 2 years ago and first couple times I went to the hospital uncomfortable I did not like it BUT ... I had a life-or-death situation and EMS showed up to my house and they saved my LIFE thank God for my husband and EMS, police & fire officer's because they were in the right situation and did exactly what professionals do! Awesome teamwork and awesome group of people!
Don't go to the emergency room. We took our daughter for a 5 minute visit with a PA. We paid our $300 copy but then received a $600 Bill from the doctors group
Horrible! My Grandmother is mentally slipping so we sent her here and no one did any test. She put a magnum to my Grandfather's (who is a Disabled Veteran) face, tried to run him over and stabbed holes in the door. We have photo and video proof too! That's just the tip of the iceberg too. I RECOMMEND SHELBY HOSPITAL! AT LEAST THEY CARE! We are considering suing.
It was horrible I took my dad who is elderly and has demtia he was in pain and we sat there from 2pm til 8pm it was crazy he had a hernia and they did nothing for him
The ER nurses rarely ask the dosages of the current meds you take. You know how dangerous that is? I take 1000mg of Aptiom, not 800mg like the last time you decided to ask. I was hospitalized over the weekend of 9/14/18 and they never gave me a substitute seizure medication either, since they didn't have Aptiom. They never gave me my Bentyl. They would know how much/when I took it if they ASKED. They gave me my Docusate at the wrong time and was giving me the wrong dose. Guess how they would know the right time/dose? Yea, ASK!
Every doctor that works there is the least educated person in their field. They kill almost everybody the operate on or diagnose. Go in for a UTI and end up dying because they filled their lungs with fluid for no reason other than to milk insurance. They will do pointless procedures just for the money!
Absolutely horrible. Took four hours in the emergency room to see the doctor. I was in the room with my fiance and the nurse starting injecting him with medicine without telling us what she was putting in him, nurses did not help him IN BED OR OUT OF BED AT ALL even though he had suffered an attack. Made us help him into wheelchairs. Left a dirty needle out and open medicine. Found my fiances paper on the counter and it said allergies: none even though I ve repeatedly told them he was SEVERELY ALLERGIC to morphine. RIDICULOUS. I never leave bad reviews but when it comes to healthcare it s gotta be better than this.
My husband was sent to Rutherford Regional for a few days and the entire staff were nothing but pleasant, caring & so very helpful especially during the pandemic with communication being done a completely different way then what we re use to. I only remember a handful of names I had direct communication with Lacy, Wendy & Dr. Joseph but they were all great! Thank you again to your wonderful staff. We are hopeful for a better outcome for the rest of our lives.
This is TERRIBLE HOSPITAL. They killed my 58 year old mom who was generally pretty healthy. She would've lived had they known what they were doing, or transferred her to a better hospital!
Wait times far too long. Witnessed more patients leave and go to other hospitals then they took back in same peroid of time. No sence of urgency whatsoever. Thought that when i did get back to a bed it would be a very hectic atmosphere. Quite the adverse, everyone was just slowly walking around as if no worries.even kids at restaurants move fast when necessary. Really sad this is americas health care.
This hospital is a scam and should be investigated by the FBI, the NC Medical Board, joint grievance commission (multiple patients), Empowered Patient Coalition. A board of doctors (all local) who run a dirty hospital which handles patient care very poorly, and a community of individuals who have tried speaking out about bad healthcare has led to a sick community. The hospital is a community wide joke, even paramedics suggest other hospitals for better care.
My father recently passed away at this hospital. My dad s cellphone and personal belongings were with him when he got into the ambulance. Everything was logged in, but not signed out. They have lost his cellphone, a necklace, a ring and a watch. I ve gotten the run around from the administration. He called me on his phone while at the hospital the day before he passed away. They claim nothing was removed from the body but at the funeral home my dad was in a sealed body bag with nothing on his body. I personally know my funeral home and I have a close relationship with the owner as I work for them. The hospital doesn t believe that they could have an employee who would steal from a patient. And are unwilling to look into it. I am very shocked and upset about this. I can t believe that they allowed for my dad s personal property to go missing and not have a care in the world about it s disappearance. I wanna warn as many people as I can about this situation.
RRMC is a hospital where the right hand doesn't know or care what the left hand is doing. They have fabulous nurses and CNAs, however, being gravely understaffed, nurses and CNAs have a workload that is impossible to meet. They have a fabulous PT named Ruth who outstanding, however the SLT who came in and worked with my mother approx. 12 min a day, charged $333 per 12 min session. That's one of the many things broken with our healthcare system. Luckily I was able to stay with my mom to catch the many mistakes that were made.
I was a patient twice in the ER within the last few days for complications with diabetes and a kidney infection. The staff, and drs on both occasions were friendly, and thorough. First time I was taken straight back to a room after triage and the second time, I was taken back within 15 minutes. Unlike some facilities, I was not treated poorly just because I had to return so soon after the first visit. Some drs tend to treat that like some sort of crime, luckily I didn't catch that vibe at all from any of the staff. I went there for the first time approximately 6 yrs ago and my experience was quite the opposite. The initial experience was so bad that I had vowed to never go back. I can honestly say things appear to be totally different now. I'd highly recommend this facility for your emergency care needs.
They misdiagnosed my mother as a heart attack and overdosed her on heart attack medicines that caused her heart to stop. She actually had a blood clot and died because of the overdosing. My father in law went in for a UTI and they gave him two other infections and filled his lungs with fluid & almost drowned then had the nerve to say they could fix it wwith in a few days but can't and now he's dying
