Ruth's Chris Steak House Review

This review is for the truly fantastic Taste of Spain wine dinner we had last night. We were seated in a private room upstairs in round tables sort of like a wedding. We had four courses along with a wine paring with each course along with a great miked drink of Spanish Liquor with dessert.

First we Kumato Tomato and herbed goat cheese salad pared with a nice fragrant white wine.

Second course was Lobster Paella pared with with Celeste Tempranillo, had a medium body and not too overly heavy as to not over power the seafood.

Third course was a wonderful glazed pork tenderloin with an unusual avocado salsa pared with the best wine of the night, Salmos red blend. Full bodied and fragrant. Everybody at our table loved it.

Last was a great small Filet Mignon topped with pepper butter and prepared exactly as I requested, medium rare served with lyonnaise fingerling potatoes and green string beans with almonds. Accompanied by a Cabernet Sauvignon- quite good and would have been much more appreciated had it not been for the memorable Salmos served in the previous course.

Don't forget dessert - a Tres Leches Cake with orange whipped cream and along side a solid chocolate cookie with what looked to be pistachio nuts.Served with a brandy and orange liqueor cocktail

They gave a short explanation of each wine as they were served. The service was right on and each table was served in unison. All the food with the exception of the paella (over done) was really over the top. Everyone at our table looked to have had a good time, I know I did.

As the name suggests, this is about as good as you can get!

Worth Every Single Dollar. You get exactly what you pay for here. From Greeting, to seating, to wait staff, to the courtyard, and everywhere in between. Loved our date night. Next time I'll reserve a booth with the privacy shade. Those looked very romantic. :) I'll say I was so very impressed as this was my first Ruth's visit.

Went to this specific Ruth's Chris in New Orleans for my birthday and it was absolutely amazing! Of course we went around 3pm on a weekday but the service was great and the food was as well like always! I had the stuffed chicken for my main course, carrot ginger soup for my appetizer, and a lemon drop martini. I didn't order a dessert but since it was my birthday they brought me out a delicious chocolate brownie with ice cream on top. Simple but a very delicious dessert

Food is good, but the pricing was high and some of the portions were small. That is the reason for the 3 stars.

Frances was our waitress and she was amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed, always smiling. The steak was perfect, better than any other steak house I've ever been to. There are several options to order from - I ordered a classic meal (starter, meal and side, and dessert) and my husband ordered a steak and lobster dish that was delectable. A wonderful New Orleans original!

I really like the lunch menu with the mixed grill. Stuffed baked chicken, mini sirloin steak, crab cake, grilled tomato. DELICIOUS. Great cocktails and validated parking

I love ruth chris and travel around the country eating at them. I typically choose them because I can me guaranteed of great food and service. And just the perfect dining experience. However, the experience here was horrible. The food didnt seem fresh, the lamb chops were so gamey tasting, the steak needed A1 because it lacked the normal.flavor. And service was non existent. When they came over and asked how it was and told them, they were like uts mardi gras so we are busy. I realize that but it doesnt mean your quality should suffer. They did nothing even thought they could see all we ate was the sides of corn and potato. We had 2 to 3 bites of the main dish. Oh the onion soup was good though, cheese burny but luckily I dont mind that. Waste of money, the Rib Room at the Omni was way better, go there.

Great meal. Everything was perfect. The waiter though kept asking who gets what-which in this establishment-is a no no.

Steak was tender, and cur like butter. Our server Langston is the best waiter I ever had.

Excellent staff & service. Food preparation & presentation a plus. Side offerings portions are too small. Seating floor plan very nice offering some level of intimate dining.

Found it to be of average quality for a steak restaurant. Nothing extraordinary. Good food, but I'm sure there is better in town.

Super soft meat, very well made and excellent service

We went for Father s Day so we had a reservation and we sat outside on the patio. Food was excellent, the bill was reasonable. We had an older gentleman waiter who had a very bad attitude and barely waited on us. However, the other employees were very friendly. My family and I really did enjoy our time there.

Fantastic food and service! Definitely a great spot to try if you are in New Orleans. Steak was done right and it was amazing!

This used to be THE GO TO for a great meal and impeccable service. The last few times both have been on a steady decline. The final straw was last Tuesday's experience. When we weren't being served cold food or the wrong items, plates were dropped and shattering near our feet. The servers assigned to our table seemed to be in a tug of war. Consistent contradictions and missed items made for a lot of frustration. This was initiated by a 40 minute wait on our reservation - and the dining room was 1/3 full! 25 years of big family dinners - we are done.

Doesn't get better than Ruth's Chris for lunch on Lundi Gras!

3 course entree was excellent and root vegetables and double stuffed chicken breast were fantastic!

Best steak (most expensive) I've ever eaten! Worth the money though. They even decorated our table for our anniversary. Very nice

When I see Ruth's Chris, I know I am going to get a quality meal and the best service. I was definitely not disappointed at the New Orleans location.

Steak, service, atmosphere all phenomenal, as is expected from this institution. Very disappointing baked potato, taste and consistency were as if it had been reheated. Au gratin potatoes were delish.

I have had 2 birthday dinners here and have always had an awesome time from service to food. They are very accommodating!

Good food but service was not great for the price you are paying... It seems like the servers got lost or something... Then I was told parking was validated for up to 4 hours... After spending $400 on food and drinks I got hot with a $20 parking charge...

After a mnor mess up with our last name, they assumed we were someone else so that took longer than expected no big deal I thought, pricey steakhouse should equate to great service but I was sadly mistaken. As for Hareahs it get 5 stars. The steakhouse only 2.5. I left extremely disappointed and hope my honey chooses Chophouse over this place.

It's real good - it's Ruth's Chris. It's superb quality steak and great side dishes. And the wait staff is borderline annoying with how well they serve you. I thought my waiter was going to ask if I wanted a hot shave and a haircut... Baton Rouge and New Orleans are both great locations.

Located in Harrah's Casino, this Ruth's Chris is the perfect place to spend all of the money that you win in the casino. If you don't win, it's also a great place to go to eat and drink your sorrows away.

I recommend the ribeye steak with sides of brussel sprouts and whatever potato dish you fancy. Their old-fashioned is good, as is their Bloody Mary, but if you are getting a nice steak you should highly consider a nice glass of wine.

In my experiences here, the service is typically pretty quick and knowledgeable. If you sit at the bar, the bartenders are usually entertaining and willing to customize drinks to your liking.

Today wasn't my best experience here, everything seemed off. We were seated an hour after our scheduled reservation. Service was really slow. There were several large parties and a private party going on. Food came out slowly and several dishes were incorrect. Had to send several steaks back to get temperatures correct. Not sure if they over booked or were understaffed but it definitely wasn't the best experience here

Only salvation was server Ashleigh. We had dinner at 5pm on a Tuesday and started off with no iceberg for wedge salads and therefore no chopped salads.
How can this happen at a place like this?
Steaks were very average.
Not what we were used to at this restaurant.
Plenty of other options.
Not what we expect from our past visits to Ruth's Chris.

Wilted salad, grizzled filet, what can I say? The management did fix the steak after l complained, but the initial product was not what I expected from a legend.

I love Ruth Chris, staff was very friendly, steak was great but the salad I ordered wasn't fresh at all, for a high priced restaurant like this I would have expected perfection in everything....

We love love love this place! it's our daughter's favorite restaurant! Our steaks are always cooked to perfection and they treated our 8 year old like royalty to celebrate her getting all A's on her report card!

Great happy hour menu with reasonable prices. Good food and service! I enjoyed my birthday dessert and time with my NOLA friends! They will validate your parking (up to 4 hours).

They were slammed and the service was horrible as a result of the crush. Not recommended to dine when there is a wait list.
