I just had the ribs and half chicken and I have got to say NEVER AGAIN! Both were extremely dry and overcooked. Awful portion sizes (who puts sides in a hot sauce container) and the sauce was nothing to brag about. For the money I just spent I won t be coming back.

I've been coming here since I was about 5yrs old with my pop,over55yrs.Wonderful smoked and barbequed chicken , ribs, brisket ,beef, and pork sandwiches. This place is not much to look at but the food is out of this world, I must also mention their signiture cole slaw. A real treat for a very casual meal of good barbecued food w/ special Russels sauce, available at the counter in a bottle for take home

Haven't visited this place in 30 years but I went today. The food was just as I remembered. Delicious. They added a lot of new things to the menu. I had a chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese on it and it was truly amazing. This time I will not wait 30 years to go back

One of my all-time favorite places!! As a kid we'd go to Kiddie Land and then go the Russell's for dinner afterwards, the perfect day!! The food has always been great, the beef, the sauce, the fries and the challenge of seeing just how many of those absolutely perfect sandwiches you could eat and still walk out of the restaurant upright! Planning on a drive over sometime soon, so maybe a good day/evening of old time eating is needed to relive the old days! I love Russell's!! Thanks for not changing!!

Russells is an old family favorite. The sauce is a twist between a vinegar, Kansas city, with a little cinnamon. It's not heavy, not too Sweet, and after 50 years is still as amazing as it always has been. Their Coleslaw is a lovely vinegarette, again not overly sweet. Their GF buns were amazing, fryer is shared so for extra sensitive no fries, but there are plenty of other options. Thanks for bringing in GF, made my day to be able to have one of my childhood favorites!

We had the opportunity to visit the new location in Countryside and our experience was not a positive one. The customer service was unprofessional and Lacked knowledge of the menu items. We ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad. The Russells drive thru cashier acknowledged the order but the order on the receipt said regular Caesar salad. . We inquired about the item order and was assured the order on the receipt was correct - the cashier asked a co worker if the Caesar salad menu item was the same as the grilled chicken Caesar salad item - the co worker said yes. We ask for confirmation that there would be chicken on the salad and we were assured yes. We get home and guess what??? No chicken. Why did I spend this inordinate amount of time on this minute detail? Well it is because of the fact that - not only did the front line staff seem improperly trained - so did the food prep line - the 1/2 roasted chicken was tasteless and undercooked, the sweet potato fries tasted as if they had freezer burn. Long story short- We want to support local businesses but was highly disappointed on the first visit - $40 down the drain..

I've been dining at Russell's BBQ since the 1950s with my parents. The food hasn't changed, but the prices have skyrocketed! Pretty soon the Countryside location will open, and we won't have to drive so far to enjoy all our favorites!

Barbecue time machine! This 1930's era barbecue joint serves up fast, casual, affordable noms. My significant other has been eating here since the 1960s and swears it hasn't changed much. Bonus- the slaw/pickle is amazing and putting them on your bbq pork sandwich is amazing. Oh yeah, they do have beer and $3 box wine by the glass. It is also pretty quiet after 9 on weekends.

Don't recommend this place, if I can give 0 stars I would! I asked for a pork bbq sandwich and received mystery meat, I also ordered my daughter thats only 1 apple sauce in which had hair in it. Therefore, I won't be returning! Thanks

Prices have skyrocketed at this fast food establishment. The barbecue sauce still tastes the same, and the sandwiches are a little small for the price. The counter people are lackluster and you almost feel hurried to place an order. I've been going here since I was a kid. It was great to return and wish they had a location near me.

This place is the one I like best. I visit a lot of restaurants but here I go the most. The team is very warm and the cooking they cook is so fresh and tasty. I never miss an opportunity to have a nice dinner in this place. I highly recommend this place.

My experience was more about customer service than the food. After receiving the incorrect sandwich I brought it back to the counter to have it corrected. The girl at the counter looked at my receipt and discovered that the person that took the order put the wrong sandwich order in. I was then told I would have to pay the difference in price ($1.20). I asked why because they had made the mistake. Because the sandwich you want is more money, I was told. So I paid the difference and waited for it while the other nine people with our party celebrated a 58th wedding anniversary. It's unfortunate that the $1.20 meant so much more than a customer's satisfaction.

Worst BBQ ever. I had the baby back ribs which were dry as dry can be. They serve BBQ sauce on the side but it didn t taste right and had some funky smell. I got coleslaw and Baked beans on the side but the coleslaw was really sauerkraut and the baked beans were really a bean salad in baked bean juice. It had more lima beans and pinto beans in it than actual baked beans. If you want good BBQ in this area, go to The Patio!
