Very delicious BBQ!
I have tried the famous BBQ Beef, and it was delicious! Also just tried their wings! One of the best dry rub wings I have had!
I will be back.

The pork sandwich has always been my favorite. Ive been coming to Russells my whole life and the food is always perfect! Love this place!!!

This place used to be good. Based on my experience today, maybe not so good anymore. First it took way too long to get my order. I had to ask about it (honestly, I think they misplaced it). Then the amount of beef on the sandwich was way less than it should have been and the coleslaw was old & dried out.

When I called to tell them about the problem (never get carry out I guess) they didn't seem too concerned. Like "oops, sorry", maybe we can do better next time.

Russell's is a good place for BBQ pork or BBQ beef, though just about everything is good! Old school place that has been around a VERY long time! A signature of Russell's that I like is that a beef or pork sandwich is on a hamburger bun! The meat is plentiful! You can add as much or as little BBQ sauce as you want. Their sauce is famous and you can even purchase some to take home! I don't know how much. I would say prices are moderate, not cheap, but not ridiculous. It is worth a try at least once!

I have been going to Russell's since I was three years old. They have the best BBQ sauce, if fact it is legionary. It's is a little pricey for the portion, but it's still is worth it. So if look for a family BBQ beef, corn on cob, broccoli and cheese puffs, with a glass of beer, in a county casual place that's child friendly, you won't be disappointed.

Ribs tips tasted hard, old and dry. Very disappointed.

Been coming here for 33 years. It has truly gone down the drain. What a shame. I'd like to think its because of the young ignorant manager and her staff but then again the food was also different. Due to the managers ignorance i wont be back. Which means my children won't be back. I can only imagine how many generations feel the same way.

I stop here every time that I'm back in the Chicago suburbs.

Love the old rustic feel and love love love the BBQ beef! The sauce is the best! Been coming here scince I was a kid! Don't forget your token kids!

I've heard great reviews about this place, so we decided to give it a shot. We ordered the original pulled pork and the smoked pulled pork. We were not happy with our choice. Food was dry and didn't have much flavor.

Not all that crazy about the barbecue sauce, to thin not thick,and rich like most sauces.

Not as good as it is hyped up to be their sauce taste like cinnamon bbq sauce

Delicious food and excellent customer service. The place is huge so you'll never have trouble finding a seat, inside or outside. Highly recommend the ribs or the pulled chicken sandwich!

Ummmm, basic. Come for photos and historical value only!! The ribs were wedding buffet quality from your cheapest cousin's ceremony. Pulled pork tasted cheap and old. Brisket was dry and flavorless. Mashed potatoes and shakes were decent but far from cravable. Coleslaw and potato salad from Jewel Osco are better. Bbq recipes from the 1930s might be your jam, but I would not return. I feel like people who enjoy this place like it for nostalgic quality rather than any actual culinary value. That's fine, but all these bangin ratings were highly misleading.

This is a old school family owned fresh food in excellent food

I first went there in mid 1960's to me it had a not good taste but my future in-laws liked it. Had not been there in very long time so we stopped by.
It was just as bad as I remember. I had BBQ rib tips. They were low quality and sauces tasted bad. One side was also not ok, other was ok.
The amount of food given was good. The prices are high.
They have been there a very long successful time so don't need my business anyway. My wife thinks its ok.
Very strange that the sauce tastes better a day later.

If you're an out-of-towner, I believe this place is worth visiting at least once; I don't need to encourage the locals. There's too much to go into in such a short space, but I'll start by telling you what people who had just started dating in the 1950's have told me. This place looks almost the same as it did back then. Nothing pretentious or fancy. Now, instead of me telling you about the food, I'll just to point to the evidence. This place has been around, virtually untouched, for so many decades must prove that they must be doing something right in making food that people like with enough menu variety to keep anyone in your group happy. If they weren't doing a good job, they would've been forgotten decades ago. Now people who started dating in the 1950's can share a common experience with people who are starting to date in the 2020's, all because of a few tasty recipes and sticking to traditions.
