The food is great, the customer service is poor. If you order the same thing to go, you will pay a different price each time.

EDIT: The customer service has improved greatly! Itemized receipts are now printed as well. Upgraded from a 3 star review to a 5 star review due to these changes.

They all all very experienced cooks chefs and waitresses. The food is great. My only issue is with the building itself. The food is so great its usually jammed packed in there. Thats my only issue is eating dinner packed in like sardines.

As usual everything what's fresh and delicious. However customer service and appreciation was more than lacking to say the least!!! First of all we were rushed to order before we could look at the menu one of the owners wanted us to come to the register an order immediately. It was my granddaughters first time there. He was very rude. We had a bread stick with marinara sauce the bread stick was so hard you couldn't bite it a day there was a dead fly in the marinara sauce. We brought it to the attention of the young man who was bussing tableswho took it to the owners. We sat there 10 minutes not a single person acknowledged us at all. Our lunch was $61.08 once again it was brought to the attention of the young man who again went to the owners in the back. He returned to the table with some strawberries and cream as maybe a conciliation for the issue of the fly in our food. Not a single one of the owners ever even apologized or acknowledged us in anyway other than the $6.99 bowl of strawberries that was never asked for and did not begin to compensate for the amount of time and money that was spent there. Its such a shame that they have so little regard for customers that have patronized their restaurant over and over again for years!!! We often get carry out lunch where I work . And again the food is amazing at Rubis always. No one ever tried to apologize..... #TAKECAREOFYOURCUSTOMER

The food was fantastic and so was the service until I took my daughter to the restroom midway through our meal. In the (approximately 5 minutes) time we were gone, everything was cleared from our table- even though I had left my coat at the table. The hostess replaced a partial meal although did not even replace our drinks. I spoke to the owner before leaving...he was apologetic, but didn't offer a partial refund or a replacement of the meal that was thrown out. We did get drinks to go and small strawberries and cream to go. (Pictures are of my meal that was discarded- the cucumber salad was replaced, the hoagie was not)

I stopped here to get something real quick before work, and they did awesome! They had plenty of fresh pizza, calzones, pasta salads, etc. already made to choose from. (I got an extravagant piece of bruschetta pizza.) They threw it in the oven for about 3 minutes and it was pleasantly crisp and warm! Best pizza in Parkersburg so far.... Also friendly service!

We were traveling in the area and actually headed to a different more formal Italian restaurant that ended up being closed for the 4th of July weekend. We found Rubi's by accident. We had chicken parmesan. It was very good and the portions were extremely generous. The place is casual and plain, but super good food.

I got a hard old bread, came out straight out of the frezzer, it allmost nocked my teeth out. The soup of the day cold as ice; the cesar salad dressing hard and crusty. "RUBI'S CHICKEN" it was really gross, yet cold. Bad service worst of all dirty silverware.
Left everything on the table and walk out.

Family owned and operated. Amazing food Everytime. The strawberries and cream are a must and if you're a cheese steak eater they have the best around. But that's only two of the awesome dishes available. You really need to check out this gem. Will not disappoint.

Sucks

Awesome food. Always busy. Need larger facility.

*Four (4) Stars ONLY because of creator of our Greek Salad was not wearing protective, clean rubber gloves. Bare hands.*

Don't like mentioning while at a restaurant to avoid embarrassment for anyone.

The food is always wonderful and amazing! Apparently no one here has had to employee young people these days or they wouldn t have made these comments yes! They suck but they are young and learning! Call up the owner and have a talk with them if you aren t happy!! I ve had a few rude ones but nothing I can t deal with!! I will always go back!! The food is soooo worth it!!

Delicious food but terrible customer service. Every time I come in the workers behind the counter carry on conversations with each other (personal, not work related) while I am standing right in front of them. This goes on for 2-3 minutes until they act annoyed and ask me what I want. Will I still eat here? Yes, but it really puts a damper on what should be an otherwise great experience. A smile and friendly greeting aren t hard to do and they go a long way.

Really enjoyed the cheese steak. Didn't get enough meat in my stromboli even though I asked for extra. Good size potions. Was the best place I have been to for dinner in Parkersburg so far.

Rubi's is up and down for me. Lately it has been more down than up. Tonight, we got there around 8pm. The wife almost always gets a slice of spaghetti pizza, and who could blame her? It is amazing. Well, usually. She got the last piece for the night. It must have sat for a bit.

Sidebar: For those of you who don't know, Rubi's preps a lot of their food and displays it at the counter for you to choose by sight. Then they heat it for you. That means it can potentially sit out in open air for a while before being chosen. And now back to the spaghetti pizza...

It must have sat for a bit after initially being baked a little too long. The top was already looking a little toasty. And after they threw it in the oven to heat it up, it came out over done and dry. Not the quality we were hoping for.

I decided on the stuffed pepper special with garlic styx. Never tried it before, and I was feeling impulsive. They were out of clean knives (my wife got the last one) so we had to share. There was no way a fork was going to cut through this pepper. I struggled to even cut it with my wife's knife. She tried to give them the benefit of a doubt and say the knife might have been dull. That wasn't it. The pepper was just that tough. I got it cut and was able to chew it, however. The sauce was good and the ricotta and mystery filling was tasty. But good grief, that pepper.

Anyway, all in all the meal was okay. We hope for, nay, expect more from Rubi's. We'll be back, and you should give them a shot, too. I'll give them the benefit of a doubt and chalk it up to just a bad night.

The food was delicious and looked beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was how long it took to get our food. To be fair, I had never been there before, so I was clueless about how everything was served. My pasta salad and my sisters pizza came out almost right away. It took what seemed like a long time for my stuffed pepper and her caprese salad to follow. We both wanted to eat the dishes together. By that time we had both filled up on what came out first we just took the rest home. That was a little disappointing. I would like to try other dishes, but I doubt I would dine in again. It seemed that their take out was their priority anyway.

I live in Columbus and have been to some of the best restaurants in town. Given the choice, I'd eat at Rubi's over every one of them. I buy a jar of the greek salad dressing whenever I'm in town and make sure I grab a canoli or two. I've never gotten a menu item that I haven't enjoyed but the stromboli is the real star of the show

Nice

Wonderful food - greek salad is to die for. Be sure to get the house dressing. We buy a quart every time we go in. Also, they have a gentleman working the dining room who is super helpful, polite and seems to really enjoy his job and interacting with the customers. My family and I highly recommend Rubi's !

Thanks for feeding Omar and Tiphanie from OmarGoshTV. They ordered pasta salad, cheese and mushroom pizza and soda. They said it was the best they have ever had. Thank you for helping them fuel up with excellent food so they can continue to have energy. Because of them, I will be visiting your restaurant to experience the amazing food.

Was out and about in Parkersburg looking at cars...and one of the salesman told us to go up the road and check out Rubi"s...this was quite literally the best food I have ever eaten. The place is small...but more than makes up for that by offering giant sized portions and fabulous food for a minimum price!

It was my first trip...but certainly not my last!

I spoke to the owner...and he and his staff were among the best I have ever been around...and coming from someone who has been in the restaurant biz...that's saying something!

Great food...deliciously sinful desserts...huge portions...happy knowledgeable staff...and owner right up front making sure everything runs at the optimum...what's not to love!

If I could give it ten stars I certainly would!

See ya next week Rubi's!

A little pricey, but the food (cheese calzone and stuffed pepper) was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, but the food can take awhile to be prepared, due to its freshness.

I visited Rubi s again after a 12 year hiatus. One of my first steady jobs was in Parkersburg, and Rubi s was a frequent lunch spot for so many reasons. The lunch bar had every pizza you could want, NY style. They also had a great selection of quality salads that are obviously fresh (traditional, cucumber, pasta, etc). However, it all pales in comparison to the real show-stealer - strawberries and cream. I can t say I ve ever had or even seen available s&c anywhere else. I m okay with that. It s a real treat. Don t skip this important step. Get a jar of the cream and make your own at home.
