The public areas are stunning. However, despite the extensive renovations to the rooms, I didn't feel that they were anything special. Certainly not worth the money. I feel there are far better hotels in the area.

I stopped by to try their afternoon tea, which is family friendly. It is indeed, with amazingly dedicated staff that even stopped to draw with the kids when they felt I was getting slightly wary. They can even have a "normal" version of the treats or a slightly different one - the savoury sandwiches being replaced with peanut butter/jam/Nutella one and fruit skewers. They do get colourings too. Gorgeosu treats - the coronation chicken tart is amazing. Bonus points for the white chocolate lollipop with raspberry filling and popping candy. Do talk to the chef if you have a chance. The scones are perfect too - 70% cooked in advance, then warmed at the last minute when you are ready. A relaxing afternoon...

Amazing views of London! Stayed here for a birthday weekend. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Assisted in organising a "Birthday Package" for the room upon arrival. Great location with easy access. Would definitely recommend.

I went to the Royal Lancaster on the 15th December for the festive afternoon tea and on arrival the hostess stored my bag and coat for me in their cloakroom. Although the food and service were good, my bag was returned to me damaged and More

Had a great stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, loved the views of Hyde Park. Great location, close to the tube and train station. Thai restaurant was delicious. The staff made it a really great stay though.

If you want to do sightseeing in London, it's a perfect place to stay for couple of days . The hotel is directly located near hyde park and also the tube is just around the corner. Paddington station is in walking distance ( where the airport train leaves/arrives).The hotel itself is clean and comfortable. Room size is ok.

It's pricey, but wow! Since the rooms got the update, it's a piece of class! The rooms are to die for. Bar and food excellent. One of the best hotels I have ever stopped in, anywhere in the world.

Great hotel, refined decor, very pleasant atmosphere. Room very well decorated, small tray with bottle offered, super attention. Bathroom with heated floor, small products, warm towels! It was only happiness !! Too bad it is so expensive otherwise I would have returned longer!

I try and make this my go to London hotel when on business. Even though staying in the square mile is encouraged by my employer for convienience the short commute from Lancaster Gate to Bank is a good trade off when you receive excellent service, great breakfast and modern rooms.

Location wise it opens many options and a walk to Queensway for some local independent eateries or stroll across Hyde Park to Knightsbridge is all doable. In my opinion there will be no need to travel back into central for food and drink; try the Nipa Thai in the hotel (don t forget to get your discount card from reception) or Bombay Palace a 10 minute walk away - both very good.
Just out for a drink with colleagues then the Mitre pub is nice place too.

The only downside is the room rates fluctuate by large margin compared to Hilton hotels so on some occasions the Royal Lancaster is over budget. It would be ideal if the hotel had flat business rates for frequent visitors as other hotels tend to do.

Took teenage son and his friend for Afternoon tea last bank holiday Monday. Staff were wonderful. Very attentive, excellent service standards, very welcoming and friendly. They put the boys at ease and couldn t have been more helpful in swapping the sandwich selection to suit them (look of horror at the thought of a kale and avocado sandwich - it was actually quite tasty). The food was good, it was value for money, lovely dining room, great views of the Italian garden in Hyde Park, but it was the staff who made it special, thanks.
