Beautiful college located half an hour from London...

Beautiful college located half an hour from London, founded by Thomas and his wife Jane Holloway, with the desire to be the first to study the wealthy women of the time. The Founder's Building is inspired by the castles of the Loire, while legends of ghosts circulate around the Jane's Building and on the fourth floor of the first that still roam these places. Considered one of the best colleges internationally, the college is located on Egham Hill, 40 minutes from London, in a wooded area where there is no shortage of bucolic paths in the midst of rich vegetation and curious squirrels. The college also houses a valuable collection of paintings, the legacy of the ingenious Holloway who had built a fortune thanks to his creams with miraculous properties.
The academic environment is excellent, as are the facilities such as libraries and individual study departments. University accommodations range from the cheapest solutions such as double rooms in the blocks adjacent to the canteen (the hub), to more spacious singles in the various reids. The campus has a sports center and a large playing field, where you can play soccer or football. College was often a filming location for films or TV shows such as Avengers: Age of Ultron and Downtown Abbey.

The staff are helpful and friendly, however, feedback is extremely poor and the Uni is dropping in rankings year after year. Surely more should be done to improve this. I didn't receive feedback on any essays until I left the university so it was impossible to make any improvements. One lecturer also didn't understand that a black student could still be British.

Only ever really experienced the old boiler room which has been converted into a performing arts centre. Lovely area, great venue as an auditorium. Parking is a bit frightening as there are only permit holder car parks...

In my Professional Opinion Royal Holloway College ...

In my Professional Opinion Royal Holloway College (U of L) is one of the Best Colleges to Study Biochemistry in the UK.

My Six Reasons to Study at Royal Holloway, University of London.

1. Graduate Employability:

Royal Holloway take the employability of their graduates very seriously. Career guidance and support is available throughout your degree, and students can book one-to-one appointments, CV and application checks and practice interviews, as well as attend a variety of skills workshops.

The Careers and Employability Service at the University is part of The Careers Group, the largest and most comprehensive careers service in Europe. 91% of Royal Holloway graduates are employed or go on to further study within six months of graduating (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education 2018).

2. Great Student Satisfaction:

Students rate their experience at Royal Holloway very highly. Overall satisfaction in the 2018 National Student Survey was 87%, which was 4% above the national average. This also saw the University score higher than 19 of the 22 Russell Group universities in the survey!

3. World Changing Research:

In the most recent Research Excellence Framework, it was confirmed that Royal Holloway sits within the top 25% of universities in the UK for research which is rated world-leading (4*) or internationally excellent (3*). 30% of research was rated 4*, the highest category, and several departments are in the top five highest scoring for their subject in the UK.

Studying at Royal Holloway provides the opportunity to learn directly from world experts, with focus on research-led teaching.

4. It s Recognised in the UK and Internationally:

Royal Holloway is ranked in the top 25 universities in the UK (Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019), making it the fourth highest performing London university in the guide. On a global scale, Times Higher Education ranked the University in the world top 300.

5. Stunning Campus:

The Royal Holloway campus is frequently named as one of the most beautiful campuses in the world, and the Founder s Building is widely recognised as one of the most spectacular university buildings.
Royal Holloway is ideally located only 40 minutes by train to London and just seven miles from London Heathrow Airport.
Most teaching, accommodation and social activity takes place on campus.
Continually evolving, multi-million pound estate investment programme continues to enhance the campus and a virtual tour can be taken here.

6. International Outlook:

With almost a third of students from outside the UK, Royal Holloway is made up of a diverse and cosmopolitan community with a strong international spirit. The University is truly international in ethos and impact and alumni are located in 165 countries across the world.

Nice university to visit as I was only a visitor. The students were very helpful in directing you to your destination. They give out a map so that was helpful.
Lots of places to sit down but unfortunately some are closed due to Covid.
Beautiful buildings / architecture and its ranking is in the top 20 nationwide.
