Worth a visit. Try to visit on a weekday as the machines will be working. The weekends are still interesting, but you don t get to see a running mint. The tours are not really a tour. You don t go anywhere different to any other visitor, but the information in the talk is very interesting.

This is by far my most favourite place to visit in Canberra! If you're a coin enthusiast or even just enjoy looking at collectors items, this is the place to go. It is totally free which is a bonus and the museum is soo interesting!! Everything is explained and there is even windows to look into the mint factory itself!! 20/10

Free entry. Went on the weekend (Sunday) so didn't get to see the machine do their thing. Still plenty to appreciate, with the free guided tours operating. Knowledgeable guides. Can book there, or over 1 hour in advance online. There's lots of display coins, with explanations of coin history, focus on Australia. Also a small cafe eatery. Basic fare, but we were able to have lunch

Always wanted to come here. I loved everything they had on offer and being able to make your own limited addition coins. I d definitely recommend doing the tour which was very informative and a great experience for kids!
I was expecting a little more to see on offer, but little did I know that they only produce coins here.

We signed up for a guided tour of the mint and it was definitely a highlight. Our guide told us about how money was first used in the formative years in Australia and it was great to learn about it. It is also interesting to see how the coins were being stamped at the factory downstairs.

My first visit to the Mint and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. A big shout-out to the guide who did the public tour at 2 pm today (Saturday 20 March 2021). You were knowledgeable, funny, and inclusive. I m sorry I can t remember your name. You were amazing. Thank you for making my visit such a memorable one.

An interesting and informative visit. Lots of information and history to read and learn. The Mint only makes coins, not notes. Notes are printed elsewhere. Can see real minters at work designing decorative coins, and a giant robot arm lifting tonnes of coins for processing.

Loved the mint tour the guide was funny and topics were interesting, especially the history of some of our coins. The shop staff were lovely and really helpful. Only issue was as we were just about to leave a really agressive lady yelled at us "We are closed.... we are closed" as we had walked over to look at a display next to the exit.... the other guide looking quite embarrassed said "Thank you so much for coming". My advise would be for the aggressive lady in the glasses to look for other employment away from people as you are embarrassing the Royal Australian Mint, your co-workers and can't tell time as it was before 4pm.
