My principal base, after training at St.Athan, based on 120 Squadron Shackleton Mk.3 Phase 3, on SAR missions and submarine tracking. I rented a caravan at Findhorn and spent many happy hours on the 12 mile beach running from Findhorn Bay to Elgin and Lossiemouth, bordered by pine forest, wearing nothing but a smile! Bought a second hand Fletcher speedboat to pay for the caravan rental and provided speedboat trips for 5s.0d per passenger, between Summer 1965 and Spring 1968 before training as a Sgt. Navigator at RAF Stradishall.
