Nice building but is furnished with old beat up therapy equipment. When walking into the facility do not expect to be greeted by the receptionist or therapist. I have no idea why most of them walk around with poor attitudes. Only a select few of the therapist are ACTUALLY therapist and worth the time. Do not expect consistency either, you often will have a different therapist each session which can delay maximum potential. The therapist whisper and gossip about the patients right infront of other patients. I find this to be incredibly disrespectful and even embarrassing at times. Please do your homework if you are considering using this establishment. You will thank me!
Years ago I came to Chesapeake Physical Therapy and saw Jane for my lower back and experienced the same caring, professionalism I see in my new PT, Dr. Kathryn Bogel. In returning to CPT, I opted to first discuss with the owner, Dr. Joanna Blackburn my multipliable pathology and secondary neuropathy, to see if I would benefit from treatment since money was an issue. She was interested, compassionate and ultimately very helpful. Because of the severity and amount of pathology (20 spots to be exact), from C to S reported in multiple MRI s, I was not convinced I would benefit from PT. I am now into my 4rd week seeing Dr. Kathryn Bogel and could kick myself for not coming sooner. Kathryn has help reduce the pain addressing multiple cervical issues with an emphasis a broad bulge w/ impingement and disk protrusion between C5-7. She has a fresh new passion for her occupation, explains everything, never rushes me, and has a great sense of humor which makes me feel at ease. Now I can keep my pain under control with Salonpas Hot gel patches IF NEEDED. In the morning upon waking, I am no longer greeted with pain nor do I have to spend any more days in bed lying on ice packs. I am not cured, but I am much better and will continue to have joint mobilization and soft tissue mobilization in hopes of getting even more relief.
