Food was terrible and expensive. Good wait staff....
Food was terrible and expensive. Good wait staff. Home fries over cooked and hard as a rock.

Been several years since I've been to the area and to the Roundabout. Brought 3 newbies and we all loved our meals. From corned beef sandwich to burger to turkey meatloaf to chicken cutlet.... All delicious!!
Great food at great prices. Morning time there is usually a wait about 15/20 minutes. Big crowds means good food! Will be going back.
Staying at the attached hotel with friends for a concert, this was the go-to place to meet up. Great comfort food in a 50's style diner. Given that we were a party of 10, service was good. We went as a group for supper, after concert desserts, and breakfast in the morning. Portions are large enough for 2, or for one with take-home goodies! I would definitely go there again, and highly recommend it as a good place to relax and eat.
Wow the food was filling. Could only eat 1/2, and took rest home
Roundabout is reliably good for a quick stop. The food is fresh and homemade
Menu is huge and the portions are giant. Has a good diner feel. Good presentation for a greasy spoon, but might rock the delicate digestion systems.
It was ok the service was great especially during this pandemic time.
Awesome food! I had the sausage bomb omelette..it was so good! The vermont maple sausage highly recommend.
I like diner food and should have had the pie. (It is always good). Instead I ordered "fowl balls" chicken wrapped in bacon and deep fried. It wad was awful.
The chicken was hard, dry and tasteless. Did not notice any bacon. My poor choice.
I was hoping for classic greasy diner fare. What I got instead was a hipster breakfast that cost twice as much as if should have for bland french toast and only two slices of bacon per order. One and done.
A "HAVE TO GO" resteraunt!! The BEST DESSERTS!! Friendly, fast, home made foods! Kid friendly. Many choices of comfort foods. Daily specials & prices are reasonable for portion sizes (ample)
The server was rushing us to order even though we hadn't been able to look at the menu long enough.
Overall, our experience was unsatisfactory and we decided to avoid dining there in the future.
The restaurant was clean and neat. The decor was nice, but it took us 40 minutes to get our breakfast. It was not that crowded, and we ordered eggs toast and home fries. We also ordered a side of corned beef hash which was not good. It had carrots in it, and tasted really strange. The waitress was very pleasant and noticed we didn't eat the hash so she took it off our bill. The toast was great. A bit disappointed.
Awesome meal ,love the out doors ,please keep it like this all summer long ! Love it
Waited over 1hr and thirty minutes for 2 sandwiches the potatoes were cold. Waitress was non existent technically we had 4 servers because all the other wait staff felt bad for the only party in the area and a total of 5 parties in the place. We usually love the place but this service was horrible this last time.
It's a 50's themed diner, really cool interior. The staff were really friendly. Wanted to try it after my girlfriend brought home a leftover turkey club, was great. So we went and I got a cuban sandwich and she got a pulled pork sandwich those were really good too. Great food for the price. A lot of different options on the menu depending what you're in the mood for.
Food was fabulous, cocktails were delicious, service was superb, outside seating...we loved this place =)
Always looking for a place that we can get together and every one will like....we found it. Something on the menu for all. The food was great....prices were also. Thanks
I just started going out to eat again (outdoors only) and went here with my friends for lunch ...we were supposed to go somewhere else but it was closed. We decided to go here knowing there was outdoor searing. The outdoor eating section is under a tent and I thought I would feel safe. As we were being sat, the hostess put us next to two tables that were full when there were a ton of tables with no one close. We asked to be seated elsewhere so we weren't on top of other people. All the servers had masks expect that our server was wearing her mask under her nose. Also there were salt and pepper shakers on the table ( I believe they are supposed to use personal s and p packets), the tables were not clean looking, there was all kinds of napkins and plastic wrappings on the ground and our specials menu was sticky and stained. Also, there were garbage cans throughout the tent that were very smelly. I was so surprised at the lack of cleanliness. I have supported this restaurant for years and now I don't feel safe eating here, especially during Covid times. We did stay for lunch as many restaurants are closed on Mondays.. There were positives to our visit...the service was great and the food was really good. However, I will not be going back because of the lack of attention to cleaning standards.
Wonderful chef salad, fish & chips, and Grand Marnier French toast. We also loved the cole slaw and especially the sugar cured bacon - SO good! But a half a star off for only getting two pieces as a side - should be at least three!
Best breakfast anywhere in the area. I have been to Maine and Hampton beach numerous times and wouldn't miss it for the world.
Right on the circle you can't miss it!
I honestly don't know what to say about the roundabout , everything was so fantastic. The food service the wait staff , got our food quick fast and in a hurry,
Totally go to roundabout !!!
Great service, nice decor and Phantom Gournet BBQ pulled pork was a bit dry. The rest, very good.
Burgers were not great according to two 17 year old boys. Floors under tables were dirty (slippery...spills). Waitress was nice.
Great little classic diner. Good food, friendly staff, and an awesome atmosphere.
Was really good service. Food was delicious clean atmosphere
My family has been eating here off and on, since they opened years ago. We have never been disappointed. The food and ingredients are always fresh. The french fries are hot and crispy. The menu has something for everyone.
Great food. Excellent club sandwich. Fun retro music and atmosphere.
Great service, good food and some wicked neat options that I haven't seen anywhere else.
Love the atmosphere and the food and staff are great! Just a little pricey for what you get so we can't afford to go as much as we would like.
We love this place. It has many choices of delicious food. Great diner.
Fun, trendy diner in the rotary in Portsmouth is a great stop for some traditional diner fare. Very popular, there is often a wait, but it is worth it. We dined on breakfast AND dinner food, my dad loving the biscuits & gravy! The hot dogs & baked beans were fantastic as well! There are many other offerings, and all of them sound amazing. Good place to bring your family or a great date night spot.
The impossible burger is great, now they just need nut cheese to be able to substitute the dairy cheese... hopefully soon.
Because they won't give you any options if you take cheese off burger. And you still pay full price....
Very happy they offer the plant-based burger!
Love love love the Bloody Mary bar. Great selection of add ons and garnishes. Good selection of flavored vodkas too. Their pancakes are awesome, according to my wife, but their omelets could be be bit better for what you pay. We've been there 4 times in the past few months. Despite the occasional line, we seem to get seated quickly. Looking forward to our next visit but probably won't get an omelet.
Best breakfast sausage I have had at a diner. The bloody Mary bar is a huge plus as well. A great place for sure.
This diner has it all: great food, awesome beer and friendly service. I had the grilled cheese with waffle fries. It came out nice and hot. The sourdough bread was delicious. Sat at the bar and had good conversation with bartender. Prices are pretty good considering the quality of the food.
Came back for breakfast. I ordered the breakfast croissant: two eggs, two sugar cured pieces of bacon, American cheese served on a croissant with toast and home fries. And coffee to drink.
I'd highly recommend this diner.
A busy spot but, we were able to get right in soon enough!
I hadn't been here in a long time and it's still very good and super convenient given it's right on the Portsmouth circle so great stop heading to/from Maine. I'm a breakfast fiend so I always get that and I couldn't even finish it was so much food and thabks to my Jewish Grandmother I NEVER leave food on a plate (sorry Gramma!) Great service, my friend dropped a huge tip because he was super impressed with our waitress. Big menu too so something for everyone!
Very pleasant laid back atmosphere with great food!
Best diner in NH. The temporary outdoor seating is very nice. So nice that the bees love to visit as well. 10/10 would dine with bees again.
Love this place. Been a few times for breakfast. Service is typically quick. Food has always tasted delicious. Prices are acceptable, and the staff are friendly. Some weekends their has been a wait however; not too long, the line moves quickly. Last weekend we tried the buffet instead of ordering off the menu, we Weren't dissapointed.
Always ruins a meal when you're eating with other people and your order was forgotten. I had to wait for mine. When I pointed out that my order was missing there was No explanation or apology from the waitperson, just an acknowledgement that it was coming. Pretty obvious that she had not put the order in OR the cook forgot to cook it bcz it took a long time to get it. Besides that, the atmosphere and food were good.
We ordered Thanksgiving dinner to go. The staff was super friendly and efficient especially given the covid precautions. The food was good, but the turkey was phenomenal! Hours after pickup, reheated in the oven, that bird was so moist!!
This place is awesome. The wait staff is prompt and inviting. The menu is varied enough without having too many options. The atmosphere is amazing, with a great 50s feel to it. The portions are good for the prices paid. Go here.
Excellent Sunday breakfast buffet and diner style menu options. Sunday is make your own Bloody Mary accompaniments buffet. Diner atmosphere in a large restaurant. The omelette was large and portion sizes were great for the price. A definitely must try and highly recommend. Friendly staff.
Food was good, friendly people. Took a little longer than planned, but all good.
Nice food and prompt seating at a busy hour
Enjoyed a grilled cheese + avocado sandwich. Place was full but service was attentive. Pricing was fair.
The Roundabout is a fabulous restaurant! Breakfast menu is extensive, a breakfast buffet on Sundays with a make your own Bloody Mary's. Daily dinner specials posted above the counter service area. Would definitely recommend and go not just for breakfast but for dinner. Wait staff are friendly and attentive.
Friendly staff, good comfort food, extensive menu , some interesting dishes , and
breakfast all day!
Ordered Reiben sandwich - very good and Muddy Pie? Which was pulled pork and mashed potatoes - also good
Always delicious high quality food served at the Roundabout. Thank you for the amazingly delicious gluten free breakfast sandwich. Yum!!!
We visited for breakfast and was not disappointed. Everybody in my party had all compliments for their meal. The menu is full of special plates and they all look good. I tried to convince my party to stay at the table so we can order off the lunch - dinner menu but had no takers this time. We will have to visit another time to explore that menu.
Pricey but decent food. I especially enjoy their Vermont maple sausage. It s not a link, it s a big breakfast sausages! I also like you can get hot tea one one of those mini teapots.
Great place to eat. It has a varied and interesting menu. Service is good. Very busy place. Try the sourdough french toast msde with gran marnier. We all enjoyed tasty breakfast there to start our day.
Great food, great staff, quick serving time. A little pricey probably due to COVID
Been to the roundabout three times now. Each trip was an excellent and worthy experience. The place seems to be slammed all the time. It's a turn and burn operation with decent food. I say makes this your stop vs. the arches or the king on your next road trip on 95 or route 1.
Horrible experience! Arrived at 10pm. Was seated in a side booth at the back, near the kitchen door. The restaurant was almost empty. The waiter took almost 12 minutes to acknowledge us. We ordered a burger and the soup of thr day, ate and left. The dining experience was not pleasant at all. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
The food was great but the waitress was not. I asked for well done eggs, she clarified "over hard?" and I confirmed. They came out with runny yolks and when i asked for new, cooked eggs, she replaced them only after insisting I asked for medium eggs, which i thought was rude and unnecessary. The food was delicious and I love their hollandaise sauce. They've got good coffee too. Everything is clean and comfortable inside.
Thanks to Jake for excellent customer service correcting error with online server! Food is always consistent. Elevated diner fare.
We were here for lunch. Each had the haddock chowder and a BLT sandwich. Both were very good. Our waitress was Ryan and she was great. Very friendly and efficient. All around a good choice.
Good food and lots of it. A busy place with good staff. 50's music and right era menu. A stop worth making.
We ate dinner here during an overnight trip off of a recommendation. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious and came out in a timely manner. The chicken was fresh as well as the dipping sauces, the coffee was fresh, and the cheesecake was amazing!
I cannot rave enough about how amazing the food is here, especially the sandwiches! First place I found in years that knows how to make an ACTUAL classic Reuben sandwich, which is absolutely delicious. Girlfriend loved her turkey club, and the chocolate cream pie was second best only to my grandmother's. If I could give more than 5 stars, I definitely would.
The food is fantastic! The salad I ordered was huge- by the time I was full it looked Iike I had barely touched it. The outdoor dining set up is great also. Fast and friendly service.
Cute little diner with unique and varied choices. The food is yummy!
Visited with my wife. The staff are the nicest people I have ever met,The food is exquisite! I 100% recommend coming here with your family!
Loved it, classic roadside cafe. Burger for me, french toast for the Mrs, and pancakes for the kids, a cut above in all respects. Very friendly service.
Really good oatmeal...came with bananas, walnuts & lots of brown sugar. Comes with fresh fruit! Great waitress named Pamela! Free Wi-fi. Recommended!
We had to wait quite a long time for our food. Granted we were in on a weekend 3 weeks before Christmas and the malls in the area were busy.
The fries were old, I only ate 2 of them. The fried pickle garnish was clumped together and mushy. Lettuce was wilted on the edges, and the burger wven though it was cooked medium rare, it was a bit dry.
I was told ahead of time that it would be a hit or miss. I just won't go back when it might be busy.
Best diner for I ever had! The staff is amazing too! Highly recommended!
This place surprised me. It has a big menu and space, but does not feel like a corporate restaurant. Food, drink and service were good. East on and off of I-95.
Great Food, wide ranging menu. Never had a bad meal here.
Awesome I really enjoyed the clam chowder more than I expected and the waitress was awesome
This place is great. I love the food, I love that you can get breakfast all day, their desserts are out of this world, and the service is always good.
The reviews were good and we were passing through so we thought we d stop. Waitstaff were cranky and not at all welcoming. Cleanliness was questionable. We were seated at a table full of crumbs which were brushed off with a dry rag. Service was slow. It took way too long to get our drinks and food, which was just ok. Everyone working there seemed terribly unhappy. Guess it s not what it used to be!
Been a few now. Can get busy. Has some staple diner dishes as well as some different creative options. Al the meals we've had have been very good. Unfortunately only once did I save enough room for dessert, might go there again just for pieces of pie
Love this place, service is friendly and food is homely. Save space for dessert, it's fantastic!
Very poor service. We hadn't even touched the menus when the server want to take our order. Every staffer I saw was not interested in customers or their jobs. Tables were piled with dirty dishes. Not sure why this would be as our server wanted to take our plates while were still eating. This was my second visit and it was as bad as my visit when they first opened. Turn down the music, clean the tables, and hire a decent staff. Then I might come back for the mediocre food.
This is my favorite place to go out to eat in the area! All of their food is amazing! I especially recommend the pulled pork eggs benedict!!!
Just writing this post makes me want to go back! I have literally never had a bad meal. Love the Ambiance they have, and there is a lot of available seating. I have only had to wait a bit to be seated one time, and it wasn't a very long time.
They have a catering service too. My husband and I film weddings, and got to sample some of the apps they were carrying around. Wow!!! The most memorable appetizer I've ever gotten at a wedding. The staff are all super personable!
Excellent food! We got take out and no one was disappointed! The portions are huge! I especially loved the onion rings.
