Given a ticket in a traffic incident where I was of no fault, given the run around for a while on how to dismiss that. Took a couple years for me to have faith in them again, and it was blown this year after a high dollar theft out of my car. I went in person to report my case, and the follow up officer as they worded it was extremely abrasive and demeaning, basically saying that $2,000 in stolen property was chopped liver compared to the things they were already handling and said I shouldn t expect an immediate resolution if at all. Not to mention she called me at TWO IN THE FREAKING MORNING. She continued to be very rude and said that if I want anything done then I ll have to take my own steps to figure it out and that I should call back to see if case was filed. Two weeks go by and nothing so I follow up, and nothing was done on her end nor the department with filing my case. Very displeased.

I can't speak for the entire department, but I will say that Steve Magdaleno, is a grade A, true American, and should be emulated by all of society. If there were more people like him, we wouldn't need him, but we really need him.Thank you Mr. Magdaleno...

In one word. Incompetent. I would say this applies to about 80% of the task force on the street and I'm speaking out of experience from about half a dozen run-ins either directly or indirectly. I would say some of it is from sheer laziness and some from an authority complex. Especially the puny cop with a mustache....you can tell he got whooped on in Jr high and highschool.

My hat goes off to the few who act as our equal and are there to assist and serve. Luckily there is still a few of them on this force.

I car was hit on the side of the road in front of my house. The RRPD got to my house very quickly and went and talked to all my neighbors. Even though the officer had other calls, he took the time to drive around my neighborhood and find the car that hit my car. Then he came back to my house to tell us about it. He was very courteous and cared about finding out who hit my car.

when they arrested me for driving while license invalid while i have an occupational license and i was coming home from work, i was handcuffed so that there was a constant pressure on my tendons. to show me that what the officer had done was alright, the officer shoved his finger into the handcuffs, putting even more pressure on my tendons. he said,"see, i can put my finger in between your wrist and the handcuffs. it's fine." then he told me i was wearing them the wrong way and turned my hand around, putting even more pressure on my tendons when he did that. he said it was for my safety, but wouldnt let me drink my own water from my car before i went to jail. when i got to jail, he was making jokes about the situation

Thank you for saving my life tonight. You truly are men and woman worth looking up to. If it wasn't for your kind and professional attitude towards me and for giving me water and for giving me food i do not think i would of been able to make it back home alive. My first review was wrong and i want to thank yall from the bottom of my heart. You saved my life God bless. I hope you can use this as a standard for all Williamson county police officers and save many more lives who are needing the kindness i was shown tonight.

Thank you, Round Rock Police, specially Sgt. Robert Manta for their professionalism in handling a harassment case against my family & business. If you read some of these ignorant poor reviews, ignore them. These are based from non-compliant individuals that have no compassion for law enforcement and don't consider an officers safety, training, and daily accounts of crime, stress, or procedures that they must follow to keep our communities safe and crime free.

Some of these reviews I read are about complaining of being pulled over, my picture was taken, or I don't have to show my ID unless I'm being charged with a crime, etc.
Let's stop acting like activists and start respecting their duties and job. Surely if my house or property was damaged or broken into I'm certainly counting on my local law enforcement to help me even if I have been ticketed before or arrested.

I had my first negative experience with Round Rock...

I had my first negative experience with Round Rock PD yesterday. My husband and I got pulled over because the officer told him one of his taillights was out. He let us go with a warning. I thought that was nice of him until we checked the car later to see which light was out. Both sides were working perfectly fine. I suspect we were pulled over because we were driving home late (around 2 am).

The officer must've known he wouldn't be able to get my husband on driving under the influence because my husband spoke clearly and respectfully and was CLEARLY SOBER.

Round Rock PD - please don't pull people over for no reason. You lose your credibility and any respect your upstanding citizens might have had for you. In the past, you've always been helpful and made me feel safe in my neighborhood. Please do your reputation a favor and serve your community, not bully it.

Unbelievable, Citizen calls requesting assistance while they drop off their child to the other parent, in the police department parking lot, due to a recent domestic violence issue. Department response, we don t do that. Call us if something happens, and departments wonder why they have a bad reputation. A quick roll through the parking lot is worth more than a thousand I m Sorry and thoughts and prayers.

These are the most unprofessional Law Enforcement ...

These are the most unprofessional Law Enforcement Officers I have met in my 40 year career.
They are corrupt through and through and think nothing of destroying evidence which shows them in a bad light. They will lie to cover each other and even falsify evidence to keep the FBI from investigating their wrongdoing.
Their complaint system is fatally flawed by requiring internal approval of senior management before investigation. Their Chief is afraid to meet with private citizens requesting an audience. He simply denies access.
All in all, the Round Rock Police Department is one of the worst criminal organizations I have ever had the misfortune of falling afoul of.
I will no longer conduct any business within city limits and will only use the Interstate to travel through it in order to avoid these miscreants in uniform posing as real police officers.

The negative reviews are very true. I am in the field of practicing medicine and I must say that the members of the police department send many innocent citizens to prison for no reason expect to make themselves feel powerful. I advise the law abiding citizens of this city and county to relocate to another county or you will most likely be put in prison for 25 plus years, just like Michael Morton.

I had to get fingerprinted for an employment background check. The PD did them electronically and printed them on the FBI finger print card.

The agency wanted them on the card they mailed to me which was a little different. I noticed this when I got back home. I went back to the PD and they called someone from the back to come take my prints the old way (with ink) for the cards I brought.

I had an incident few years back when I was overseas and my garage door opened. An officer made sure my house was secure, closed my garage door, looked up my number, called and left me a message to let me know everything was Ok. I will never forget this service, and I truly feel safer knowing guys like that are in charge.

Uodate*** Round Rock Police Dept is totally crooke...

Uodate*** Round Rock Police Dept is totally crooked! They edited body cam footage of one officer then lied about being unable to download the investigating officer's body cam. Internal Affairs is a bad joke. The chief is also a bad joke who will never so much as question his officers' behavior or professionalism. I was chased & purposely hit by a crazy man on Ih35 yet Round Rock officer, Webb, blamed me & gave me a ticket without ever giving me an opportunity to tell him what actually happened!

I never dreamed this would ever occur within a whole police department but it is true! I grew up around many officers & have had a tremendous amount of respect for them! Round Rock Police Department needs to clean up their act & be properly investigated & held accountable for their lack of integrity & professionalism! Truth always comes out eventually!**

Round Rock police failed to investigate my accident on freeway where a man purposely hit me. I spoke to two Sargent's - one over patrol & the one over traffic - as well as a leutinant over patrol. They stuck with the officers preformed conclusion and refused to look at the officers body camera footage of the officer's interaction with me. The investigating officer walked up to me after taking the other driver and told me what happened without hearing my statement. I attempted to tell the officer what actually happened and that the other driver purposely hit me! However, the officer already had his simple mind made up and I was blamed for the accident. Round Rock police need to be better trained to recognize problems of mental illness and read body language. They never even questioned the other driver regarding my statement. The other driver was let off scott free after purposely hitting me! Thanks RRPD for the negative experience and fear that the other driver with severe mental illness is free to chase & hit other drivers without consequence!

I've had the pleasure of encountering multiple RRPD officers and have had absolutely nothing negative to say! I personally had an officer come out to assist with removing a rattlesnake from my just outside my home. The officer was very thorough and checked around my entire house for additional rattlesnakes.

This was an animal control job but they were off for the night. This officer didn't have to do any of this but was determined to assist my family and I so we could sleep just a bit easier.

Most of these negative reviews I see are from one encounter that didn't go the way you hoped or you were breaking the law and are upset you got punished. Support your local police, they are who you're going to need to call in an emergency!

The police failed to investigate my son's car being hit by a hit a run driver. There were several witnesses. However, the police failed to take any witness statements and continued their efforts to NOT investigate the accident. They basically didn't care. We had to track down the car the hit my son's car via the license plate given to us and the police and then make the police come out to run the license and give us the insurance information. They were worthless and made their indifference very obvious. My son was left holding the bag on $632.00 after the guy's insurance paid up on the blue book value of the car. The police failed to file charges for accident involving damage. What are the police for if they won't help their own citizenry?

Yesterday I was stopped on I 35 by the RRPD. Officer Garza approached my car and began asking me questions of where I headed and other unnecessary personal questions such as, where I worked. I answered all questions honestly but he believed i was lying and as of why I was driving back to Tennessee, my home state, was "suspicious". He then asked me to step out of the car due to these suspicious of why i was traveling to Tennessee. He then asked if i was traveling with narcotics and began to search the car. He spent over a hour searching my car, even going as far as using a stethoscope to tap all parts of my car to see if i was trafficking drugs. His search yielded nothing. His unprofessional manner and arrogance was extremely frustrating. the questions he asked were also unprofessional and mostly personal having nothing to do with his traffic stop and when i asked if he could place my belonging neatly on the sidewalk while searching my car he looked at me threw them in a pile and responded with "thats what you get for messing with dope". Again no "dope" was found and i was obeying all laws. The other officer assisting was respectful but officer Garza is the most unprofessional person i have ever interacted with. Good luck to anyone who may deal with them in the future.

I don't recommend moving to Round Rock.

I don't recommend moving to Round Rock.
Move out of Williamson County unless your a girl or white then these cops will treat you like dirt!
You get pulled over make sure you get there badge number, name report any misdoing or discrimination to Round Round INTERNAL AFFAIRS immediately.
Police failed to arrest guilty woman who had drugs.. instead they arrested another guy that was completely innocent because he had a record and was in the same vehicle.
Police are suppose to arrest the driver if drugs are found and nobody claims it instead the pig cop decided the innocent guy was automatically guilty because he made a mistakes a few years prior to this.

they assume and write false reports based on what they think based on racial profiling and discrimination, drawing ludicris conclusions.
I even know a girl who had drugs on her, the cop didn't even bother searching her because she didn't have a record she just flirted he let her go, she saI'd he was looking at her brests the whole time.

they don't care as long as they make an arrest!

By the time you go to court you go through so much everybody is busy with work, even innocent people who are wrongly charged just rather get it over with rather than having to go thru months of court just to go to trial and have a try and beat the case even then chance jury just listens to the cops side of the story and risk incareration because cop wanted to include his personal opinion guessing at what happened in his report instead of just stating the facts, so the jury gets pulled in by the police false story!

Round Rock police are dirty Cops and frankly half the force should be replaced,

If ever pulled over by delarosa or Simpson be careful they will pressure you and forcefully tell you to exit your vehicle based on sterotyping and racial profiling doesn't matter if your not doing anything wrong they'll still search and make an arrest or pull you over even for something as small as making a wide turn.

Not to mention if one cop pulls someone over five cops show up, every single time, for unnecessary reasons, this is round rock not some getto, totally unnecessary and wastes the tax payers money because the you have 5 to 6 cops standing around for an hour. Not to mention if they don't make an arrest they just stand talking to each other for 30 minutes chatting about unrelated things like a football game.

These Round Rock police are UNPROFESSIONAL! TO say the least. That's a nice as I can put it.

I have to say the one encounter i had with an officer was MORE than pleasant. Kind, professional and to the point. RRPD office staff however are very unhelpful.. particularly whichever woman/en I had spoken to. Seemed to operate with the same level of confusion and speed each time I called and was a touch rude. Luckily my insurance company picked up her slack. 5+ stars for the officer though!!

Regarding the RRHS incident. I'm not opposed to the Police doing what they need to, to protect themselves from harm. However, I'd like our high school students to respect the Police, and feel that the Police have their back. This incident wasn't respectful to the student and didn't teach our students that it was beneficial to call an officer in to help a situation. Instead the officer made it worse. A teacher would have done better to step in.

One thing I think we can all agree with is how much we hate being pulled over by an officer and being talked to like dirt, whether we were guilty or doing anything wrong or not. I, for one, would rather get a ticket from someone who treats me like a human than get let off with a warning (well, depending on what it is) by someone who treats me with no respect.

After seeing me do something he felt was maybe a little dangerous and pulling me over to have a talk with me to point out the error in my ways, officer J. Johnson treated me with the utmost respect. His approach, conversation, and overall demeanor throughout the entire process was professional, approachable, and, most importantly, respectable. Even if he had given me a fine for something I had never heard of I would have walked away upset that I had been fined, but happy I had dealt with a great police officer.

We all hear these terrible stories of police brutality and abuse, and many of them are true. For this reason, I am always so quick to point out when someone is doing something right.

Here's to hoping I never have to see you again officer Johnson. Stay safe out there!

I originally called and asked a dispatcher what time the lobby closed and was told at 5pm. I further explained my situation, that my husband and child s father were just recently in a physical altercation 2 days ago and being that everything was still recent and fresh I wanted to have an officer on standby to make sure my child s father wouldn t try being aggressive like he normally is. The dispatcher I spoke with told me that I could call the none emergency number back when it was time to do the exchange and they would send somebody out. Great! So in route to the police station, we call and ask if someone can come out for us and was told by the supervisor that they don t do civil standbys. After explaining to her that I was just told that they would send someone she informed me that they gave me wrong information and they don t do that but if they started fighting I could call 911 and they would come out. I told her that I would prefer not to wait for someone to get hurt to where she stated, are you saying that your husband and your child s father are incapable of being adults so I told her it had nothing to do with being an adult if the situation is hectic and there s tension why wait for something to happen when it could ve been avoided all in a matter of a minute or 2. She had an officer call and repeat the same thing to me, which he even added that there weren t enough officers to do civil standbys. I stated to him (as well as the supervisor before him) that we were doing the exchange at the police station so we simply just needed someone to come outside. After getting absolutely no where I ended the call and called my father who happens to be a sergeant in our home town to sit on the phone with us for the just in case. This is truly sad, I understand being busy but if someone is asking for assistance (regardless if they see it to be an emergency or not) they should be a little more willing to assist. Being told to wait until there s a fight is total B.S. because if there was a fight and someone was seriously or fatally injured it would be devastating to know that the last call made was asking for their assistance to simply come outside and give no more of a couple of minutes to make sure everything would be ok. If it wasn t necessary, I would NEVER call them for assistance ever again. Oh by the way, my child s father showed up with 4 guys in his truck including himself. Maybe they were headed to BBQ!

Too bad you can't give negative stars on here. RRPD is nothing more than organized crime extorting money from the public.

They are the largest group of corrupt incompetent idiots I have ever seen. The chief does nothing to correct this and the problems just continue to grow.

I have lived in several states and multiple cities throughout my life. The grater Austin area has to be the worst I have ever witnessed regarding law officers.
