The location of the hotel is great and there is a lot of potential BUT... According to the hotel, breakfast starts at 7U30 in the morning but they still had to bring out the cereal, butter and yoghurt at 8U20... -- we ordered eggs and bacon around 8U25 and we only got them at 9u00. -- as you can see on one of the pictures, our view during breakfast were 2 guys fixing things on a ladder in the middle of the breakfast corner. (See pictures) -- we booked the deluxe room so you have a private jacuzzi with your room, but the pool was dirty and not working (See pictures) -- They say there is a honesty tab but only 3 tabs out of the 7 were working -- The shower did not work half of the time -- When we asked to talk to the manager about these issues, he did not even want to make time for his customers I would not recommend this hotel! The idea of creating a smart hotel is nice but the owners still have to be able to manage a hotel and not only build one

The location is absolutely beautiful! You have to stay here if you visit Robertson. The blinds, music, lights and coffee machine are all voice controlled, how cool that you can switch off the lights by speaking.
The rooms are lovely, clean stylish and the showers are nice. The private jacuzzi is so cosy and the lady at reception is incredible! Give her a raise!! She honestly adds to much to this rating.
The only loss of star is the breakfast process and how long we had to wait to eat. We wasted almost 2 hours, the bulk of it just waiting and I was a little annoyed.
We loved our stay at TheLAB, whereas there were some minor issues with the technology in our room (growing pains, nothing more), the breakfast was good, the spa was a treat, and we slept like rocks! We had a jacuzzi and a private deck, the jacuzzi was quite chlorinated (probably for hygiene reasons) but nothing a quick shower couldn't fix!
For the price we paid I expected a bit more. The breakfast was really terrible and the braai also not great. But the service was really friendly. The location is also really beautiful. Beautiful views and peaceful setting.
Great friendly service. Fantastic country views overlooking a dam with loads of birdlife. Communal and private jacuzzi's and swimming pool. Old school still and eco friendly.
We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location is excellent and the facilities are good aswell from the rooms to the restaurant, but to for us the service was special and we were made to feel very welcome with nothing to much of a problem:even went to get beef sausages for us on the second for breakfast as we do not eat pork.We will return perhaps next time without the kids :))
Considering the Guesthouse was close for 3 months we hadn't a wonderful stay. Room's are are beautiful Staff are amazing and make you really feel welcome. Beautiful view.
Let me start this review by saying the real gem and value add of this lodge is their staff. Friendly, resourceful and supportive. I did not meet one staff member that was not friendly; Beatrice the lodge manager who is also receptionist and what else. The massage therapist Devaline (I hope I spell this right, masks :)) is one of the best. This lady enjoys her job and if I may say her resources are limited; she has to work to make it a pleasant experience and she does. Small little person with strong powerful hands, little dynamite she called herself.
The surroundings are beautiful; if you are looking for a weekend breakaway and want to feel like you had a two week holiday then this definitely makes it possible. The electric scooters is fun in slow motion, our fifteen year old teenager enjoyed this more than she thought she would. It is slow riding but it is fun.
We wanted family time; so no minute was spared to do things separately; it was about having an experience together. It would have been nice to be able to do the spa treatments simultaneously but they can only do one person at a time; but still we were collected by Devaline so it did not feel disconnected.
Overall the rooms were beautiful, crisp cotton bedding, thirsty towels, clean and with double doors opening up on the little porches, it gave me an afternoon nap, that still has a lingering effect.
Is it perfect, unfortunately not. But before I start the list; I must say it did not take anything away from a lovely weekend break and we will go back. They were also working on the lodge so I belief it will only improve.
When you arrive; the parking is outside. So when it rains there is no shelter to unload you car. Pack light because you have to carry your luggage some way. The porch doors we had is wood, swollen and need a hell of a bang to get it close enough to lock. Showers is lovely but everything is wet when you finish and it is slippery affair. The taps came off and the pipes rumbled. Echo the automated smart system was fun but inconsistent in a funny way. In general she worked fine but she was fickle when it came to the lights. The food was fine enough but in our opinion over prized or another way of looking at it would be "under done". Do not mind to pay R 325 but then one does not expect plain fatti's and moni's pasta, with chicken and broccoli. It was tasty enough but we were underwhelmed and this is something we will not do again when we go back. There is no light blanket in the room and no way to warm the rooms on a chilly weekend like we had. We probably could use the aircon but we do not find it a healthy option. In our room was a fireplace but we were not allowed to use it. If you are on the bulky side like me the dining room chairs felt unsafe and rickety. There were nice furniture outside but as it was raining and cold; sitting outside was not an option.
What an amazingly well-kept secret! Beautiful views over the dam - especially at sunset from the bar or dining room verandah - absolutely everything you could want in a modern guest house : modernly renovated, with a winery and drinks on tap - as well as a steam room and huge jacuzzi! ......AND there's tech in the rooms!
A spa for the ladies and wine tasting, and on-tap beer and tech for the boyfriend!!! PERFECT!!!!!
Beautiful venue, stylish modern high tech rooms fitted with Amazon echo turns a room into a fun filled experience. The electric scooters were a blast and the battery life was impressive. Rooms opposite the main building have really nice Jacuzzis and make it difficult for you to want to leave your room.
Everyone was very nice and helpful. The rooms were very nice and modern. There are electric scooters with which you can explore the area. If you sit at breakfast, you can see many oryxwebers and some mask weavers in just a few meters away. You can reach many good restaurants on foot.
You could operate everything in the room via voice control (of course, there are still remote control). Each outlet (including the left and right of the bed) also has 2 USB ports. TV with Netflix and YouTube available.
Extremely friendly welcome! Great location with great pool. Room right by the pool with great view from the bed over pool and lake. A lot of peace, many birds. Delicious dinner. Exciting technology with Alexa & Co.
2hrs out of Cape. It's a real gem. Such wonderful warm staff and hospitality. Surrounded by mountains and olive and lavender farms. Hire electric bikes or take a hike, then hit the pool or jacuzzi! We really enjoyed our stay, it felt like family and we will definitely be back
