Very nice and helpful place but the executive director it's very rude and very unprofessional
Excellent place and much support and love they offer you is like being in your home.
Yesterday I visited this house for the first time with my neighbors. They stayed at that house while their baby was born. It is without a doubt a beautiful house that allows families of low income with kids who require especial treatment at Philadelphia Children's Hospital.
We brought a donation to return a little bit of the love and care they provided to my friends while they were there. Lots of families from several parts of the USA and the world are allowed to stay free of charge and they also provide meals to them. This institution is a clear example of love towards the most needed.
I would like to invite anyone reading this review to help this charity organization. They are always in need of pantry donations. But if you want, you can also reach out to them and find a way to collaborate. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing at first hand what they do to help families in need.
Its simply a wonderful program that allows families of sick patients to stay in their own beautiful rooms while their loved ones are cared for at Cooper Medical Center.
There to donate. Friendly folks doing good things.
The best RMDH in the area. Cheerful staff and rooms really help the mood.
This place is a life saver. My husband and I would have gone into debt to be close to our son when he was in the hospital. It also was so comforting to have other family to talk to who were going through so much with their kids too.
It also was nice to stay it beautiful clean place. Our first night in We stayed in a cheap hotel $100 a night, which was neither beautiful or clean.
Lunch Trucks during Friday lunch hour throughout the summer. Extended wait times are likely but worth the wait
Each time my family and I visit it feels like a home away from home. The children are always happy here inspite of everything they actually deal with.
If I could with them 10271931 starts, I would!
This place was home during the worst days of my life while my baby was in the NICU.
They always did something to cheers us up!
Not to mention the friendship we made
This was our home away from home for several months while we were seen by and received treatment at CHOP for my unborn daughter. The staff were amazing and the community was wonderful! We wouldn't have survived that time in our lives without this caring group of people who helped us out! We will always have a special place in our hearts for RMH Camden!
Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Meals brought in are wonderful.Nice not to worry about food when you are dealing with a child at the hospital.
We live staying at the house. It's like a second home where we ha be old friends and new friends. It eases the worry about where we will stay while in town for medical appointments.
Sorry, but if youre looking for a place to stay, please go for the Ronald Mcdonald House in Philly on chesnut street. Our stay here was miserable. The toy room on our floor was dirty. I ended up going through everything because my then two year old kept finding bits of broken everything in the tubs of toys. You know, lovely choking hazards for the younger ones. We took him outside for a bit on a nice day, and we had to bring him in because we found more than one disgarded needle laying in the yard. We immediantly told someone because my son was like an inch away from grabbing it (we were picking dandolions) and i screamed and knocked his hand away. We told one of the staff members who shrugged and said it was normal there and that they have a cleaning crew coming in a few days. Like ok. Fun. We were stuck inside the rest of the week. Food was locked up after dinner was served, and leftovers were not left out so hopefully youre not completely broke after those doctor appointments because you will have to go grocery shopping if you want to eat anything besides dinner. Guests are expected to wash their own bedding before they leave-- aka anyone who was lazy or busy probably skipped washing the sheets and ew. My son got sick from chemo in the middle of the night before our flight at 8 am. Barfed all over our bed. You have to get laundry soap from the staff, who were no where to be found. We had no clean blankets, and no way to wash them with an early flight. Not fun. Super miserble. Now, ill be honest and mention that i was terribly depressed and been nearly a year since weve been there. I wish id said something then because i hate to think of any other sick little baby playing there and casually picking up a heroin needle some inconsidered doped up jerk throwing needle into a fricken ronald mcdonald yard. Regardless, it was a miserable experience. If anything, i recommend attempting to get into the Ronald Mconald House of Philadelphia on Chesnut street. They have so many resources, dinner every night with the leftover left for families to eat all day long. This one in camden just... like if your at the hosiptal late and you dont make it for dinner and you have no money for groceries then youre not eating. Oh, and our room had loads of food stashed in it from the previous family which was a big red sign that they didnt clean the room properly. Not too big of a deal usually except for the fact that the kids who go there are sick and cant be in dirty environments. It was so disappointing. Now, every negative thing ive just said, is totally the opposite at the PRMH on chesnut street. Not to mention the social workers help you apply for finacial assistance and all sorts of things. Please if you have to go to the childrens hospital, or in our case, wills eye institute, go to the one on chesnut street. Great outdoor and indoor play areas, and my son still begs me to take him back to the "donald house". Though hes afraid of the Ronald Mcdonald statue haha. The differences in the two are quite vast, and they are very important differences, right to the point where the one on chesnut street literally has meals and snacks made so you can grab and go before those long miserable hospital days. Think wisely about where you try to get into, because it can really make a difference. Staying somewhere that makes you feel like home when youre halfway across the country in a strange place with a sick baby makes all the difference in the world. I truly hope that my review is outdated and wrong for the sake of the families and the children that stay there.
I love volunteering at this organization. Last time I was there, we cooked dinner. It is a very popular place to volunteer so you have to sign up months in advance but you can also keep checking the calendar in case people canceled. The residents are very nice and grateful for the volunteers.
Very accommodating with wonderful staff and volunteers. The heartfelt kindness of the different groups that come over, donate gifts & supplies, create and run activities for the kids, and bring meals are amazing.
courteous ! dropped-off tabs for recycling , from brother bear bar bbq and masonic collection boxes , staff welcomed my contribution !
I spent 5 weeks in this house 9 years ago. I had a very complicated and had to stay close to the hospital from 35 weeks till delivery. They are simply angels from heaven. I am so grateful for the support, the willingness to serve. I cannot imagine what I would have done without them. Today, that little girl is a very healthy 9 year old!
Great place to stay. We were well taken care of during our daughter's hospital stay.
