The staff is rude, they're very unorganized and it's all around a horrible experience every time. I've stayed at the one in Chicago numerous times and they are nothing but pleasant and polite individuals who really make us feel welcome. This location and staff needs to take notes. We are already dealing with a lot on our plates considering children close to us are going thru major surgeries and such right next door. Very disappointing

This place is a blessing. The ability to have a touch of home so close to your child is wonderful. The space is clean and spacious.
The staff is great and so helpful. We have stayed at RMH many times over the past four years and have always been treated with respect.

I called Ronald McDonald'S house this morning to inquire about a place to stay because my grandson who needs a transplant is followed by the ICARE team there and spoke to Nancy a representative there and she was absolutely RUDE and DISRESPECTFUl. Someone spoke to our social worker the day before and told her that it was plenty of room and that it shouldn't be a problem, but NANCY could care less and told me NO. She wouldn't even give me information about other alternative places, she told me that I would have to look for a place to stay. Fortunately, this is not our first stay in Pittsburgh and we had other options. As a RN myself her disrespect made me feel very uncomfortable, especially when Ronald McDonald's house is suppose to be a place where families with sick kids can go and have peace of mind.

Horrible. Extremely unorganized and left us driving around in circles with no where to go after doing everything on our side at 8am. 2 phone calls in between and 12 hours later and still nothing. Just to find out the only person that can help left at 3:00! We came from raleigh NC, where the Ronald McDonald house there goes above a beyond! Beth (which has no business volunteering whatsoever!) thought it was funny to make the matters worse by her extremely rude mouth and unprofessional behavior! She even laughed at times followed by sarcasm! If you plan on coming to pittsburg for your child, just "prepare" yourself and child to get stranded in an unsafe area, no call backs, and rude behavior from Beth.

Staff is great but 1 of the ladies who handles the facility is pretty racist towards Hispanics.
I hear the same complaints about this person as I was there with my wife and son.
No one needs more complications in their life while being there.
That should be a place to help unwind, the stress of a sick child is enough no one needs more stress from racial comments or to be treated different while being at a place that's suppose to help.
That's a big no no in my book!

Nothing they took my room and put me on the do not admit list bc I did not stay in there room every night and spent more time with my daughter bc she was not doing well. You tell me how that is caring for family.

good

The staff is terrible, very rude people to deal with. We came from Morgantown WV where they were great and went out of there way for us. The hospital in Pittsburgh is fantastic, unfortunately can t say the same for the McDonald s House here in Pittsburgh. Families don t want to be placed in these situations, they don t want to be in the hospital with there sick children and have to deal with snobs like them. I pray you never have a sick child that has problems and requires surgeries. If I could vote 0 stars its exactly what you would receive. What a joke pathetic!!!

I have always known about the Ronald McDonald house, but this is the first time I've seen it firsthand. My best friend's granddaughter is 8 months & just had her 2nd heart surgery. My best friend & her daughter (the baby's mom) stayed at the House. They were so well taken care of. I will forever donate to the Ronald McDonald House. My friends would never have been able to afford to stay anywhere around the hospital for that length of time they were here in town. This House goes above & beyond taking care of families of sick children. They are fantastic

I m currently staying in the location in Pittsburgh and without saying I hope I never have to stay in one of these rooms with my family ever again . The Phone back was broken , a large strip of the tile on the tub was ripped off , the screen for the balcony was ripped off , beads from the bean bag chair in the dresser, a broken dishwasher from day 1 as well and it seems as though when we leave our room someone comes in when we aren t here , I ve came back to our room door obviously open . The staff has already tried to come in our room twice when we were here without reason or permission to inspect but they clearly make it known that they inspect once a month . Families that are going through a tough time enough don t come here they are very unprofessional, not to mention they closed the kitchen early on me and my family even though we signed the sheet to cook in the kitchen before it was closed

There really are no words for this wonderful place. The staff is amazing, kind and engaging. It is kept spotless and the convenience of being right next door to where your child is receiving care. It is a blessing.

The staff was rude and did not leave a message informing me I had a room available. Your facility should leave messages. I would rather stay at one of the Family Houses and pay 4 times the rate than the Ronald McDonald House there I am guaranteed a room.

Ronald McDonald House is a Godsend. We stay there whenever possible when my Son is ill or getting surgery. They epitomize hospitality and generosity. Volunteers serve meals. They have laundry facilities and the rooms are equipped like a small apartment to be as much like home as possible. They're attached to Children's Hospital which makes it as easy as possible to be there for your loved one. Ronald McDonald House is everything a parent needs so that they can focus on what's most important... Their child.

Staff was not the most friendly, welcoming. You would think that they would be a little more cheery and friendly knowing that most parents/caregivers are going through a stressful enough experience as it is. I don't think the man at the front desk even knows how to smile or offer a friendly greeting.

Very caring, kind, and respectful. Rooms are clean. Has refrigerators, ranges, microwaves, Coffee Pots, , Internet Service. Washers and Driers are free. And in Pittsburgh, Pa. there is bus services and Stores close by. My family and I loves Ronald McDonald House. Never had a problem. And just about a month ago my daughter had to spend just a night there and the Ronald McDonald House accommodated our needs.
Thank You Jesus. And Thank God for all those who give to the Ronald McDonald Houses, God Bless Each and Everyone.

My wife and I stayed there while our son was in the hospital. The staff was great and really helped my wife during our difficult time with our son being so sick and us being so far from home. I knew my wife was safe every night going back to the room and had a meal during the week when I was at home working.
Thank you

Amazing place to stay when your child is hospitalized in the Pittsburgh area and you do not live there. They have amazing programs like volunteers who make meals, volunteers who come and do movie nights, hair cuts, massages, etc. It is definitely a home away from home. One bedroom apt with living room, kitchen (everything but a stove), bathroom. Amazing teen lounge and connected to Children's Hospital Pittsburgh which makes it easy to rest between appts. Laundry room available as well. I can't say enough good about this home away from home.
