Do well by doing good I wish they will be a national internet provider
Rocket Fiber is the best ISP I have ever had. Fast, friendly and reliable
Very friendly and laid back staff. Kind of confusing to get into. You have to enter on Clifford and ask the security guard to let you up.
Cons:
- Customer service agents are not trained properly.
- They're focused on policies, NOT the customer.
- They DON'T prorate anything.
- They're way too expensive for the service they provide.
- Billing isn't available on weekends
- Have to call multiple times to get an answer.
- Service outages
- They're NOT focused on solving customer problems
- Service and internet are NOT worth $70.
Pros:
- Customer service 8-8 M-F
Love this place but we're now Everstream and even better than ever.
We rely on Rocket Fiber for our growing business and love their company and customer service. The speeds are very reliable and fast. Their customer service is always available and very helpful. LOVE being able to talk to a human when we have Internet questions, and that they are a local Detroit made company. Even when we've had events with hundreds of people, the Internet still remains super fast for us. We cannot say this about past providers. Recommend them to any businesses that can access their services!
The install process was lengthy, that was annoying, but after that honestly this is some crazy fast internet. You're often limited by the server you're downloading from rather than your own download rate. I regularly download games through steam, origin, uplay, and to download a 50Gb file takes about 20 minutes which is way better than the competition. It's also cheaper. I think if they improved the process of getting rocket in the first place they would be crushing it because they honestly offer a superior service. Pretty happy.
Update: I went from using my router's wifi to using an ethernet connection. Holy moly it's fast. very very close to the promised 1Gb per second on speed tests both up and down. About 20ms lag when playing CoD and other online games. Well worth it. Fantastic job guys.
Unfortunately my internet was down tonight when I got home, I called technical support and was connected with an off site receptionist. The only potential resolution I could recieve was to unplug and plug my router. After I told her I did that, I was asked to wait for about 5 minutes to be informed that she put my service call into the technicians and put an escalation on it. After asking if there is anyway she could resend the signal on her end she repeated that she is the off-site receptionist and she put an escalation on the situation. Then I asked her if there was any working on site tonight and she didn't know, followed by again repeating she is an offsite receptionist and she put an escalation on the situation. Then I asked if she knew when I would be receiving a phone call and as you can guess she told me I don't know and that she was an offsite receptionist and she put an escalation on the situation. I think I understood that the first time. No internet tonight I guess, and then I ll probably have to take time off work to get my internet fixed. Thanks for being the fastest internet in the world, that never works.
Any time i have a problem they are quick ro solve it. No can beat there pricing because of the no data cap and 1000mb for 70.
I've been looking into getting Rocket Fiber TV but, every time I talk to them they change what they said about when it would be ready for general introduction. First it was last summer,...then it was "some time in the fall," then it was sometime in November,...now it looks like next year. They keep pushing it back. Also, their prices in general don't seem to be that much different than Comcast from what I was told. Things aren't looking good for Rocket Fiber at this point as far as I'm concerned.
They only services downtown. Not in the rural areas of Detroit. The Mayor should do something about this.
This Detroit startup is truly changing the game by providing Detroit residents with internet speeds of 1gbps. Can't wait until they come to the Rosedale area.
Had to change card on file I call back it's after hours but like most internet companies you can pay the bill threw the automated service or even online this is pretty low budget honestly. Like how you can't pay the bill after hours not even a option?
So nice to have real customer service and internet that keeps up with all of my needs.
They've spent so much on advertising this service and can't even cover a few square miles around the main office and that's pathetic. I live 3.5 miles North of that office, on the same road.
If you live in a single family home in the Midtown area / Brush Park you're out of luck. There's supposedly too many regulatory hoops they have to go locally to get fiber to your house. Half the streets in Brush Park are under construction (I'm sure all the new condos and townhouses will probably get fiber), yet they won't put forth the effort to bring service to existing single family homes? It's not a priority for them so if you have Comcast just suck it up and continue paying out the nose.
I had some initial issues getting things going but the team at Rocket was amazing. Super conscientious, they wanted to make sure that everything was working as advertised. Special shout outs to Marna. She is amazing. Without doubt the best support engineer outside of maybe a level 3 escalation engineer at Microsoft or Cisco. She is AWESOME! The entire team is amazing there and the service is excellent. My situation was a little unique, but the team there was understanding and accommodating. Leaps and bounds above any of their competitors. Way to go to the team at Rocket!
Legendary customer service, railgun speeds! The idea of using another internet company in Detroit is laughable!
I got rocket fiber for my apartment and the speeds are truly amazing. Their service is super responsive and the price is super reasonable for superb experience they offer.
Great internet speed but the fact the a corporate does batch billing on a specific day of the month and NOT the day you activated service is strange.
I activated on the 15th. Why batch bill everyone on the 7th each month? Also they lack the ability to pay early. Whether that's a day or a month in advance
Rocket Fiber is incredible, their internet is FAST AF and is cheaper than those jerks Comcast!
Some of the best customer service of any business ever, so absolutely friendly!
Was so happy to be one of the first neighborhoods to get RF, was awesome being able to tell comcast to gft's!
Anytime I have any kind of issue, it's like no issue, they're so legit!
I love RF!
If you can get Rocket Fiber, do yourself a favor and make the switch, you won't regret it!
RFFR!
Marco from rocket fiber went above and beyond. My internet router was not connecting for over a week. No WiFi (during quarantine!!) it was rough. Late at night Marco fixed my internet! He was great highly recommend. He deserves a raise !!
I rated it 4 stars just cause but I really want this to fly off into Dearborn. Its a smaller city but neighbors with Detroit like literally left and right of me is detroit amd right behind my house is Detroit and it doesn't have availability in my neighborhood. Just hoping for it to reach Dearborn in like 2 to 3 years
Fast for downloading movies and things but if you're trying to play games, very inconsistent. I've been pretty dissatisfied with it overall. I get dropped from games more or less every time I play, multiple times. It's great internet when...when it works. Overpriced for how inconsistent it is. I've had their techs come out to my apartment three times, replace basically every piece of equipment and I'm still having regular outages. At this point I'm convinced it's simply poor quality on their end rather than the equipment failing.
