The employees are great. Couldn't be better. The food is delicious and fresh. But, I just don't think a 6 inch pastrami sandwich with a 16oz drink and chips should be a $13.00 lunch. Outside a sign read Tuesday special, 6in pastrami $6.00. So I paid $7.00 for a bag of chips and a cup of ice with some soda. Yikes guys. And its Tuesday today BTW.
Quality of meat And Italian sub is terrible. This sub I would have to say is disgusting. The meat is cut thick and as of the same quality as subway. Taste like dog food. I really wanted to like this place. The bread is good and I think the vinegar and oil was good but they didn t put enough on a sandwich for me to really even taste it. Extremely high price for a very low quality product.

Delicious sandwiches and the owners are the nicest people. We've been going for over 10 years now and we still live them. Nowadays, with the pandemic hitting small businesses hard, I want to make get my food from people who's going to use it to live on, not a big corporation. Support small businesses!
Rock N Jenny's is a great family run establishment. Great sandwiches all the way around. My favorite is the meatball sandwich with jalapenos on bottom. The meatballs are great, sauce is perfect, with cheese on top. So good I can't drive by on the 15 and not stop here. Gave blood, got my vaccination, and picked up a 9 inch meatball sub... Great day, great meal.
I was in Escondido and wanted a pastrami sandwich. Thought I'd find a place that was on my way home in the South Bay. I looked up sub places and saw this place had excellent reviews. However, I was very disappointed. The pastrami sub was tasteless and dry. I should have gone out of my way and hit up my favorite place sandwich place. Will not be returning.
Best sandwich in Escondido, and a super friendly staff! The Mafia Marriage is a must try, but I haven't yet had anything there that wasn't awesome! Support a local business and check them out!
only reason not a 5 star is due to small portion of meat on a the 9inch, could have used just bit more

Stopped by after a long day working in the hospital, and arrived at 1946 and the closed sign was already out and doors locked. I called their number and spoke with someone who said they closed 30 minutes early because they were "slow" all day, and refused to make a sandwich while claiming to still be technically open for a few more minutes. Horrible customer service and probably lost a loyal patron for life. :-/
Edit: Thought I'd give it one more try after a quick response from Jenny, and I gotta say my faith in humanity is restored. Stopped by after work again at 1953, open sign still on and ran into give my order. I believe Lucy was behind the register and Jason made my chicken Parm, bother were very pleasant and helpful. Will continue coming back. Great food and customer service.
There are few places more authentic, more consistent and more friendly than Jenny's.
Let's start with food. Like any great restaurant they start with great ingredients and respect them. Take care of them. You can see it when you look at the food and you can certainly taste it when you eat their food. In other words, even with a menu the size of Jenny's, the food is consistently excellent.
The service is great. Even when there's a wait, and they do get busy, the staff is polite helpful and attentive. And there's Jenny overseeing things, making sure customers are taken care of the food meets her standards. That's impressive because there are a lot absentee owners and chains that don't have anyone that involved.
Overall, great food, service and wonderful people. What more do you need? Get to Jenny's and get yourself some great food. You deserve it.
